Strength:
MP3 playback, CD-R/RW playback, sleek design, easy operation with good remote
Weakness:
can't randomly play mp3, not to many others I bought this thing about 3 months ago and love it. For 200 bucks u can't go wrong. I have yet to have any dvd playback problems and the picture is great. At first I was a little hesitant about AIWA in the dvd field... but after reading other reviews I went for it. MP3 playback is sweet. I have a disk with 214 songs on it... unbelievable. Wiah it would random play but you can't get it all. You can also make a custom file list for mp3's which only takes a minute so u can listen to only the songs you want. |

Strength:
Has component out, composit out, s-video, digital and coaxial out (DD, dts), plays dvd's, cd's, vcd's, cdr/rw, mp3's, zoom, theres a hack to make it region free.
Weakness:
Minor- loading tray is loud, lack of options while playing mp3's, loading is a little on the long side. I had a sony s360 first but took it back because of the lack of features. So far I am very pleased with this one and the weaknesses that I stated are very minor ones. As far as the video quality goes I think the sony was just a tad sharper (cleaner) and the sound isn't as great when comparing the two virtual surround sound modes but the differences are small. I was basically looking for a dvd that offered alot for the price and I think the Aiwa xddv370 does. I think this is a smart investment for a first time dvd buyer, I consider this player a midrange player. Similar Products Used: sony s360 |

Strength:
Plays mp3, component video, reads cdr.
Weakness:
limitedflexibility with mp3 files, long load up I bought this player at circuit city and have had no complaints. I returned a samsung 711 to J&R because it could not play mp3. The video quality is very good. Unlike the cheap apex, it has optical output for audio. A region crack is also available. |

Strength:
CD-R/CD-RW playback
Weakness:
Slow loading time I wasn't sure what to get but after reading the reviews here I decided that the Aiwa XD-DV370 was what I was going to get. I am happy with it, except for the fact that it takes a really long time to load the DVDs. The other problem is that if you turn off the power, it won't remember where you stopped the dvd, and there is no easy way to get it back to that specific spot. It also doesn't remember your bookmarks if you remove the disc or turn the power off. Other than that, it is a good player. It doesn't skip or have any of those problems. Strength:
price, mp3 playback
Weakness:
slow loading I bought this for the mp3 feature. I had an apex but it would not play the mp3's. The aiwa plays the mp3s, the only problem i have is if you are playing an mp3 and you go to look at the other songs in the direcorty using the arrow up and down buttons it will start playing the song you are stopped at in about ten seconds without selecting them other than that it plays the mp3s fine. If the mp3s are recorded on software lower than adaptatec 4.0 it will only play the end of the songs and skip to the next so use adaptatec 4.0 or later. DVDs play fine. An excellent player for the price. Similar Products Used: apex 600, zenith 2200 |

Design, Remote control, Sound is very good (I compared mp3 with my computer -Winamp, sound wasn´t so clear and dynamic), CDs hasn´t quality of high end, but it is good.
Weakness:
miss component video out This product has good value for gaved money. You get product with many ability, it can play even CD-RW better than CD-R. Sound is excellent, video is good, all of cinch are plated by gold. I would never await this feature at Aiwa, congratulation. My audio system consist of receiver Denon 385, speakers Monitor Audio Bronze 1, passive subwoofer, PC monitor Iyama 19" for video. Similar Products Used: Thomson, Grundig |

Do anyone have any idea what universal remote works for this dvd player. I've tried several remotes, they seem to work for all my other theater equipment, with the exception of the dvd player. |
