Strength:

price, quality, various media handling capability, a host of connectors, nice remote & handsome case styling.

Weakness:

none, really.

This is our first DVD player and, quite honestly, I didn't really know what to expect. I had heard, and read, that the DVD format offered gainful improvement over and above video tapes - and I desired to give it a shot. So I bought the Aiwa XD-DV370, and was so glad that I did. Now, as this is our first DVD unit, I am not able to make any comparisons. But I CAN say that we were really blown away by this player. The picture clarity and sound reproduction is just awesome, and - although we have only had it for just over a week - it has played, without hitch, every single DVD that we have rented. This unit offers three types of video hookups that (as I have been given to understand)will enable you to stand on the viewing grounds of GOOD, BETTER or BEST. At present, we have just the basic hookup (GOOD), but this is so great that I shudder to think what our eyes might take in once we upgrade our video connection. I have noticed that the loading procedure seems to be a little on the lengthy side, but that is hardly of any true significance when all other aspects of this beautiful machine are considered. If you're in the market for a great DVD player - check out this unit: I have absolutely no doubt that you will be glad you did.

Strength:

Plays it all ... dvd cdv vcd cdr cdrw mp3

Weakness:

could have better mp3(random feature)

well after many attemps to find a dvd player that also does cdr&mp3 got the aiwa....

I am very impressed! The Aiwa has awesome picture quality and NO branching problems(movies like mi2,patriot,abyss etc..)

word of caution the "new" panasonic dvd-rv31 has Major branching problems look for them to be re called...

The aiwia takes a while to load a disc(recognize what type, dvd vcd mp3 etc)but other than that it works great..

Picture quality rivals sony......
audio is awesome ,even playing mp3 music .. great separation and dynamic range...
my advice if you can find one buy it!! you will not be disappointed....

Strength:

Nice looking model, Quiet, remote is lightweight and wasy to use.

Compared to the Samsung 711 the Aiwa is a dream. The product is very slick and the image is extremely clear. My current setup with the Awia XD-DV370 DVD Player is a SA-DX930 Technics Receiver and a older 27 inch Samsung TV. Overall, I am very happy with the DVD Player and the picture quality. However, I have noticed on newer DVD movies like the "X-Men" and the "Green Mile" (both rented) that during intense action scenes or other colorful aspects within the movie my TV will blip for a spilt second with different colors. This only happens during some action scenes not all. Does anyone have any ideas why this happening? Could it be my TV or DVD Player. The DVD movies I have rented never skip or pause or anything. The playback is flawless, but during brief action scenes moments I receive a colorful rainbow of blips while the movie is still playing. Could it be my DVD Player, TV, or DVD Movies? Any ideas??
