After viewing several DVD's over the past weekend (Das Boot,Fleetwood Mac - The Dance, Seven - Platinum Edition, The Matrix, T2 - Platinum Edition, and Charlis Angels) I have to agree with all of you and your opinions on the lip sync. THIS UNIT IS GREAT. What an awesome experience playing the Mac DVD in both the LPCM and DD modes. Can't wait to pick up some DTS music like Alan Parsons and Sting to really get a feel for the superb capabilities of this unit.

Exceptional picture and sound from good quality sources, a snap to use and ease to setup

My first DVD player was the Sony S365D which I had high expectations for but its pause on dual layer DVD's was a bit annoying as was the excessive drive mechanism noise. I returned it and went loking again, viewing several more including the Denon DVD-1000. I have had no complaints and lots of compliments on this addition to my system since day one. The value is big and the ROI is big too. Se7eN and Bone
Collector never looked and sounded this good on the Sony.
No signs of lip sync as a few of the other reviewers have talked of. This is a great site for reviews and one of the reasons that I decided to give the DVD-1000 a whirl.

I've had the DVD-1000 for about 1 month now. I have read the reviews below, but I have not found any of the problems descibed. I have had no lip-synch problems. Upon Paul's advice, I tested the helicopter scene in Jurrasic Park and it played beautifully - no problems here!

This is the first DVD player I have owned, but it produced the best picture and sound in the store and nothing has changed since using it at home.

A bit expensive. Had to add addition 113$ to make the player region free. That really sucked.....

This is my first stationary DVD player. It took me over two days to search through reviews and articles to find the "best" player with the lowest price. That was not easy. I choosed this player cause I "thrust" Denon products. Well since they made an cheaper modell, I bought this one. The only problem was that I couldnt find any reviews about this product before I bought it. I had to take the chance.

Anyway, The player is great for me. I dont need anything better (right now). The picture and sound quality is very good. Disc loading goes smooth. Menu setting is easy to understand. Another thing thats very easy too understand is changing the region code. Took me two seconds too learn it.(I'll guess it depens some on the software.....)

I read some previous review about this product, and I noticed a "common" problem: Lip sync. This problem has never never occured at my player. The only thing I could criticise about the player is the noise the player makes when it plays. Since my player is in a cabinet, the noise dont bother me. Its not mutch(!), but there is some. And one more thing (I read too), Yes, it do take some seconds to load a movie.

I rather say this problems is nothing!!
