Very detailed and sharp picture, beautiful color saturation, SHARP, good sound on movies

Remote buttons are small, Audio CDs sound weak (but better than most DVD players). Maybe a little *too* sharp a picture on anamorphic disks (jaggies).

This is an excellent DVD for the price. I didn't appreciate it fully until I saw a Sony S360, and I realized how much better this player is. However - there is a tradeoff when viewing 16x9 downconverted to a 4:3 --- you will have jaggies. This is common with most players, but Sony has eliminated this "problem" by softening the picture somewhat. I'll take a sharp picture with some jaggies any day -- the softened picture looks no better than a high-quality VHS... and you can get used to the jaggies.

Amazing what this DVD has done for my crappy Samsung TV (next in line to be replaced).

Some have commented on the excellent sound quality. Yes - this unit provided superior sound to the S360... and CD audio is passable, but bass response is weak and the highs are a bit harsh. I'm not a big audiophile - but I'll be buying another player just for my CDs (NAD C520 probably). I miss my old Sony ES CD player (R.I.P.). The CD audio may be OK for some, however. It is *certainly* better than that of the Sony, which was horrible.
