Strength:

It might have some scrap metal value

Weakness:

Won't play DVD's

Panasonic will never get $1 more from me. I bought the A110 from BestBuy 2 years ago. The first one wouldn't work out of the box -- it wouldn't even open the tray for me to load a disc. So, I returned it the following night and was given a completely new one. After three weeks, this one locked up and would not load any discs. By this time, I decided to buy the "extended warranty" from BestBuy. My third A110 was a victim of a power spike (probably lightning -- not its fault). But, under the extended warranty, I was given a
new A120U (which had replaced the A110 by this time).

After about 6 months with the A120U, I would randomly get "No Disc" after inserting a DVD. Ejecting and re-inserting several times would usually result in the player finally accepting the disc. After another month or so, the machine would say "No Disc" all of the time, and would obviously not play any disc. By now, I was so frustrated and resigned to the fact that Panasonic's products were garbage, that I went out and bought a Sony 650D. The Panasonic sat
in a box for a while waiting for me to dig out my BestBuy receipt to take it in under the extended warranty.

I finally took it in 3 weeks ago. I was phoned by BestBuy last night to tell me that it needed a new part that would not be available for at least one month. Meanwhile, my Sony machine gives me great performance day in and day out -- and I use it to listen to CD's about 2 hours per day and for DVD's an average of 5 DVD's per week.

Word is that Panasonic knew this product had defects (Bloomberg reported a lawsuit against them over this issue). As I said, I will not buy another Panasonic product.

To all of those giving this machine 5 stars: I hope you re-post when the machine goes bad, as I'm quite confident it will.

BUYER BEWARE!!!
