ummmm....??? Nice looking dust catcher?
Weakness:
quality workmanship customer service picture ability to perform can''t play movies expensive dust collector Terrible!! This is the worst piece of junk I''ve had the frustration of dealing with. My first dvd player - what a joke. It''s left a bad taste in my mouth about dvds. It worked fine for the first 5 movies or so - no problems. Now it won''t read discs, the picture breaks up, it freezes, screen goes black, sound goes out, etc - during EVERY movie! Every single one! If it will even play it. Sometimes I can get a movie to play if I sit for 15 minutes and fiddle with changing discs, opening and closing the player, turning it on and off - eventually it all of a sudden "sees" the disc it''s been telling me it won''t play for the past 15 minutes. I''ve read other reviews about this product that have the same complaints. Panasonic is less than helpful in resolving the issue - I guess they figure I should just throw it away and buy another. Never can I watch one movie all the way through. It''s impossible. I usually end up stopping and restarting the movie so I can get 30 seconds more (IF lucky) play before it buggers up again - turning it all the way off and back on don''t help either. Awful! Awful! AWFUL!! Don''t waste your money. I''d give this a big ZERO if it were an option. |

5 disk changer
Weakness:
Slow read times, does not work well. As with others in this review section, I had the same problems with this DVD player. It often does not recognize valid DVD disks, it freezes at the end of most DVDs after 1 year. When I took it to be repaired the repair shop said that most of the Panasonics had these problems. I would **NOT** recommend and Panasonic DVD players, especially this one. |

Nice color LED lights???
Weakness:
Were do I start When I began shopping for a DVD/CD player the Panasonic DVD-CV50 model was heavily recommended to me. I tried it for 48hrs then took it back. Firstly, when I took it out of the box the remote and machine struck me as cheap looking.Connected it up and noticed the LOUD grating noise of the carousel. Had to push buttons twice to get a response. When I paused a CD it would restart at a slower speed. Furthermore I noticed some skipping.Maybe I got a lemon but read the reviews here on the C670D and bought it. Similar Products Used: Sony c670D |

Strength:
Crisp and clear picture. Built in 6 channel decoder. Five disc carousel. Black level, Cinema Mode, Easy to set up. Easy to balance all 6 speakers. Typical Panasonic robustness of design. Reads CDRW's, Karaoke, and more. Very good remote control. Picture and Audio first rate!!
Weakness:
I have not found one yet. This DVD player is a GREAT buy for the money( A few months ago it was selling for $399). As noted it has EVERYTHING I want from a DVD player and more. This is truly the heart of a wonderful DVD home theatre set up. It is hooked up to a Technics SAX 920 6 channel receiver. The component video inputs go into my new JVC 36" TV, $750 at Costco,(800 Lines Resolution, 2PIP, Etc.). Speakers - 2 Large Pioneers in front, Bic center, KLH 120 watt powered subwoofer, in the rear a pair of small Advents. Through the Component Video inputs the picture is incredibly sharp and crisp with vibrant colors. The home theatre experience is BETTER then at the movies. Similar Products Used: Toshiba SD3205 |

5.1 digital decoder
Weakness:
lack of universal remote, no dts decoder I am an electronics sales associate, and I have been very happy with this unit. As long as you are aware of it's features at the point of puchase, you'll be very satisfied. The player does not claim to play cdr's so that cannot be considered a drawback on an older model. The only beef I have with this unti is that the ac3 decoder does not incorporate a dts decoder as well. Other than that, it's a great machine. Strength:
5 disc player that is easy to use. Picture is excellent quality.
Weakness:
Large unit, won't fit into standard stereo cabinet. For the money this is a great 5 disc DVD/CD player. The picture is excellent, quiet running even when changeing discs. The random play on the CD is good because it randomly plays all the discs. The remote is easy to use. Similar Products Used: Toshiba 2200 |

Strength:
Changer, major brand at decent price
Weakness:
Remote, on-screen icons I chose this player after reading various reviews here and on timeforDVD.com. This seems to be a fine, full-featured DVD player at a nice price. Except progressive scan, this machine seems to have all common features, plus dialog enhance. True, it doesn't support CD-R or RW. The Panasonic web site indicates that next year's model, the CV-51, will, and it will also carry a lower MSRP. (Maybe they read the criticism here) |

Strength:
Price to features ratio, all the desirable outputs and decoders.
Weakness:
None yet Awesome, did about 2 weeks of hardcore research before buying. Never been much of a Panasonic fan but I am very happy with this purchase. I compared this unit to about 5 of its closest competitors. The Panasonic was by far the best deal and it has all the bells and whistles of its competition. Rather impressive for $330. Looks and sounds great on every DVD I've played. It’s partnered up with a Pioneer 409 Receiver using the digital coax$ and a mix of JBL and Bose bookshelf speakers. The sound is intense and I’m not even using a sub (yet!). Similar Products Used: Sony, JVC, Pioneer Multi-disc changes. |
