This thing has no boom boom. It is just ok for surround sound but not great for music....has lots of crisp high ends and little appeal on the low ends .....taking mine back for refund..not impressed at all. Actually disappointed in BOSE on this one!

Strength:

Strengths would be simplicity of system, yet BOSE dose not have a corner on the market. Look at NAD , Linn or Arcam, all of wich make excelent lifestyle systems. Setup is important, speaker placement must not be an afterthought, as with any system.

Weakness:

Ocasional malfunction of comands from remote, restricted high frequency.

The 3-2-1 system belongs to my girlfriend, and I have to say I was impresed to seeit in her living room as aposed to a cheap shelf system or nothing at all. I knew that she was at least making an atempt. Bose definitly knows how to market their products, far beter than anyone in the industry. I don't know how many articles I have read in Stereophile and elsewere regarding the demise of the high end, if you ask me it's marketing. Back to the BOSE, this thing is fair, not great but definatly better than a Fisher rack system. When I set up an old NAD reciever H/K cd player Rogers ls35as and NHTsub (from the Super zero system) all of wich is second hand and can be obtained for far less than the 3-2-1, My girlfriend was quick to mention the supiriority of the vintage system, and sugjested moving the BOSE to the bedroom. If considering a system do yourself a favor and look around, check out your local mom and pop stereo store with your own cd or dvd.

Strength:

it looks nice from a great distance.

Weakness:

everything. soon there will be alot of dumpster divers with bose hometheater setups. only gave one star because they dont have a listing for a negative.

My neighbour got one of these (units) from whoknows where for christmas.(wont tell me what he paid for it) he has had it now for a couple of weeks and called me over to look at it because it didnt sound right. i spent a few hours trying it out and have to say this is the sorriest piece of crap ive ever seen.
i took him over to my place and as a joke i put my h/k avr 135 on 2 channel stereo and hooked up a couple of my old minimus 7's. put on a dvd and his jaw dropped, and then i turned on my homemade sub then he was really mad. enough said. when he asked what i paid for the stuff he was listening to, i explained average cost of my items, then he got even madder.
again marketing is everything these days, people can be taken by any claim that is made by anyone about anything, as long as its done right. this is where bose excells.
like they say, its like putting lipstick on a pig, and bose has certainly achieved this by going through their dumpster and reserecting some thing that should have stayed there.

Strength:

Sound quality for a very simple and compact system is very good.

Weakness:

The lowest reliability of any audio equipment I have owned in the last 20 years.

This product has been back to the shop every few months for repairs. The sound is good and picture good, but only when it's working, which hasn't been often. It is very easy to set up, and I've set it up many times, due to having to take it in for repairs.

Customer Service

Still waiting for some.

Strength:

Small with minimal wiring, High quality sound with no distortion at loud levels.

Weakness:

The universal remote is lacking in bottons for some of my "special" t.v. features.

I love it. I had no trouble installing the system in just minutes. The sound was flawless to "my" ears. I would recommend this product to all my friends and to strangers on the net. If you want great sound without seeing all the speakers and wires this is for you.

Denon reciever and bulky speakers. Lots of wires.

Strength:

Simple and very easy to set up. Good style small and not a lot of wires showing around. (That makes my wife happy).

Weakness:

Cannot play MP3 formatted CD's

I like the unit but was very surprised to learn that it will not read the MP3 CD's I have. It will read a MP3 file if you burn it onto a standard CD format but with only a single disk changer that is not much better than using a WMV format. I have emailed Bose for a solution but if they cannot come up with one I will probably be returning the unit. Too bad cause I really like the simplicity of it.

Strength:

Small, unobtrusive, sounds great

Weakness:

Usually priced too high

Wow, this system has taken a real beating. As an audiophile, I wonder if reviewer expectations are too high, or if reviewers are just pissed off that this piece of consumer electronics is so good? I recently set one up and found for the price, the 321 was a good performer. Not very powerfull but the subwoofer once set correctly produced nice seamless base. There was no harshness in the sound, even at high levels. Over all, for $900 CDN this system was a steal for the listener who wants to listen - not look - at his stereo system.

Strength:

Easy to hook up

Weakness:

Poor sound quality, including "boomy" bass that doesn't get very low, and the "simulated surround" is just stereo.

I purchased the Bose 3*2*1 system to replace a Sony stereo that I was using with my Television. I didn't have the Bose three days before I returned it to the store for a refund. Not only was the sound qualtiy of the $700 system worse than my $200 Sony stereo, but the Sony is also at least 10 years old! And the surround effect doesn't even work as advertised, this is just a glorified 2-channel system. The Bose also only has connections for one other video source. If you want to use more than one, such as a VCR, satellite receiver, or video game system, you are out of luck.

I went back to the Sony 100watt/channel stereo & Sony speakers.

Strength:

clarity mid-treble bass

Weakness:

treble-mid range for my taste i havent heard a bose speaker that sticks to me i need more treble in my listening

i have heard and t ested many bose products i'm starting to believe that bose has a distinctive sound. their high notes produced from their stereo targeting tweeters aren't as bright as for say a polk bookshelf yet it still has the sound to make it compete on the market.i honestly think bose sets their bookshelf speakers to the acoustimass systems to the mid-treble so u kind of over welmed with those pitches of sound and forget about the really high notes as in some one who isnt really into audio they may not know a difference. dont get me wrong i like bose as long and all the other manufactures because i have a love for music and speakers .

Strength:

The base that the bose 3-2-1 system produces is optimal. The compact nature of the system and the speaker connections.

Weakness:

Right now I dont see any weaknesses.

Love the product!! Got my system for christmas and hooked everything up in 20 minutes. I have an Xbox running through it, (the sound for the games is awesome). Some of the people that give this product a bad review must be complete idoits and probably have a hard time tieing their shoes. No problems with my system. Great sound for games and dvd alike. I like the fact that it replaced all the bulky speakers of aiwa compact system in a third of the space.

I have owed many other systems over the years and have always wanted a Bose system.
