Strength:
Compact design, excellent sound quality, ease of set up and use.
Weakness:
Limited expansion, flakey and quirky. For the price we paid, it should be near perfect. Bose engineers,..don't retire just yet. Bose 321 home theatre system. |

Strength:
When it works, the sound quality is great.
Weakness:
The engineering of the system.....see my review. This is a very dissapointing system. I purchased the original system in June. Within a month I was experiencing problems with the sound. When increasing the sound with the remote the sound would go off on the video. To correct the problem I switched to FM and back to video. I had the same problem with the second and third systems I exchanged with Best Buy. Very dissapointed with this product. Similar Products Used: Pioneer tuner and home entertainment system. |

Strength:
Above average sound quality.
Weakness:
As described in summary. I went through extensive web browsing to find some positive reviews about this system. The sound quality was above par, especially considering that there are actually only two speakers making the noise. However, the good thing ends here. Below were a list of problems I have encountered before I returned the item back to Circuit City: 1.) The DVD/CD unit dose not work. When I load a type of media, despite it being music, DVD, or MP3, the system just would not recognize the disc This is likely a manufacturing defect. 2.) THe buttons are sluggish. It was very hard for me to physically "feel" a push on a button, when I press on it. A design flaw. 3.) Minimal display that does not serve much useful information 4.) Overpriced just for its so so brand name. To cap it off, the 321 system is a unit that lacks many fine touches comparing to other brand names. Just the name BOSE is not enough to make-up for its design and built flaws Similar Products Used: B&O, Onkyo |

Strength:
Compact, great sound, uncomplicated
Weakness:
Not for a big room First of all I need to say I have a large home theater room. I have outfitted this room with the Sony STRDA777ES (one kicking receiver} 5 Aperion audio speakers and a Klipsch sub. I run my video on a 36 " Sony flatscreen. All I can say is it is wonderful, period. I wanted to get something for my bedroom and I chose the Bose 321 system. I did not want overkill in a small room and I was intrigued with the setup and lack of all those wires. I am running a 24" flatscreen in the bedroom. Well first it is all in one control center so it looks good and saves room. Second, For the application for my bedroom it is fantastic. I really many unhappy people with lots of good equipment are really not using it correctly. When is the last time you were blown out of movie theater by the sound. The previous is an example. The room is much too large for this small system and he has a right to be unhappy. In a small room, he would be blown away by the small speakers and sub. In conclusion, I love this system and my bedroom is now outfitted with home theater. I wish some of the bad reviews would lighten up and think about their expectations. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Easy to set up. Only one box.
Weakness:
Only one box, if it goes down, so do you. I had a list of prizes to choose and unfortunately, picked this. I have a large room (16x27)and this is not enough. Set up was easy, (20 min start to finish) but the sound is lousy. DVD's sound the best but tv is too bassy and is tough to adjust. There are some quality issues too. I will pay the taxes on $1000 but if I had shelled out that much for this, I'd be really mad. I hopefully can exchange it at the local Bose store. Similar Products Used: First HT unit. |
