WHEN YOU PLAY THIS STEREO, YOU CAN CLOSE YOUR EYES AND EVERTHING THAT YOU HEAR WILL CONVENCE YOU THAT YOU ARE AT THE CONCERT WHERE THE MUSIC IS BEING PLAYED, THE RANGE IS THAT WIDE, AND THAT CLEAR, THIS SYSTEM IS TRUELY A GREAT PIECE OF WORK AND IF EVERYTHING WORKS, IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY YOU PUT INTO IT, I HAD MINE REBUILT ONCE I PURCHASED THE UNIT, BUT EVEN THAT WAS WORTH THE EFFORT.

Strength:

Cheap; Hey sorry I'm a student

Weakness:

Stupid game!; What's up with the game?

What is up with the stupid game. I actually had to read the directions to figure out what the heck was going on. The game kept running every time I attempted to set the time. Who in the heck buys a stereo to play some silly game. Oh well if I bought the stereo I might be a little irritated, but since it was a gift from my dear sweet gandma I love it. Anything is tolerable when its free!

Strength:

It has a eye-catching flashy display, very good bass with little distortion, two sets of hookups in the back (good for people looking to hook their system up to a TV/VCR/DVD and a MiniDisc or computer. The optical ouput isn't really necessary, but a nice extra for expandability purposes.

Weakness:

The beat buttons are useless, so are the spice functions.

I bought this system to hook up to my DVD player (Toshiba SD-2109) and it provides the makeshift home theater system I was looking for. I tested it with The Matrix and it performed beautifully. The sound was full and clear and it filled the room well. The bass was deep and the treble was fine. Overall, a good system for around $250.

Strength:

Great sound, great bass, also i like that i can hook it up to my tv with noo trouble at all.

Weakness:

CD player sucks, one itty bitty scratch and it'll skip for a year.

Great starter for a mini system. But the cd player absolutely stinks. When i tried to play a cd with less than a hair wide and centimeter long of a scratch it skipped until the cows came home! It is a peice of crap, but on the better side of it it has great sound and bass.

Strength:

Great bass for a system of it's cost.

Weakness:

Dumb novelty stuff. Also, I do notice that it is SOMEWHAT more sensitive to scratches, but not enough to be a problem as long as you take care of your CDs.

Great sound from a small system for a reasonable price. Puts out PLENTY of sound for my dorm room. Might not be as practical in an extra large room. Would not be appropriate for a home theater. Also, you can get excellent bass from it as long as you remain aware of the relationship between speaker positioning and good sound. Did not have any trouble with the controls after a brief initial consultation with the manual.

Strength:

This baby really rocks. The bass is really awsumm. With 160mm Subwoofers it produces a thundering, RUBLING GODY bass.Bass enthusiasts this is 4 u. If u r interested in lights then ull like the cool flashy display.

Weakness:

The HALL Surround mode really sukz at lower volumes. The voice seems like that of a robot. The cd changer also has a very sensitive head ,it wont play cds with just a hair size scratches. The casino jack game is also a little out of place in the audio system Infact it looks kind o stupid. Who buys a hifi 4 playing a stupid game. The fill in music library is also an extra item which has no use.

The system is a newer version of nsx777 its a nsxs777 with 2400 wats pmpo .The bass response is really awsum at a moderate volume it fills the whole room.THE HIGH FREQUENCY RESPONSE IS ALSO VERY GOOD THE HIFREQUENCY SOUNDS are crystal clear especially with the bbe system. It also has the option for connecting surround speakers. And the dsp surround really works in simulating different enviornments, except the hall mode.Theres a delay in this mode which kind o acts like a voice synthesizer at lower setings of volume. At high volumes it really works. The cd changer is a bit sensitive it wont play cds with itsy bitsy scratches .The twin full logic audio decks are also very impressive.Anothr feature is AI program edit which means artificial intelligence .This is for recording tracks from cds to cassets. It actually calculates the cd length n tape length then adjusts the spacing b/w songs accordingly so that no part of the song is cut.The full remote is both practical n dandy .Man i m really in love with this #%$@*ng audio system.Who says that Aiwa products r a bunch o crap.

Strength:

Decent sound from such a small package at normal volume levels and lots of blinking lights (if you like that sort of thing). The tape dubbing works well. EQ presets handy for the normal listener. Relatively inexpensive @ $229

Weakness:

Weak CD player, novelty features are worthless (karaoke & game), terrible support from Aiwa on DOA system. Cassette doors open way to easy.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my parents from a local electronics store. After getting it all set up, it was DOA. After contacting Aiwa, they recommended we take it to a repair center for repairs which was totally unacceptable on a new product, not to mention the nearest center was a 2 hour drive away. We were able to return it to the store where it was purchased and they replaced it, but the second one was no better, it was also DOA. The next one we tried at the store and it was okay. They checked their stock only to find 3 of their remaining 6 were also dead. Not a good average.

The bass falls on it's face on upper volume levels and it lacks midrange even though the speakers house mids. The EQ does not compensate very well. The manual is less than desirable to read.

For a young child or an older couple, this system should work well, but for anyone that wants a decent system, look elsewhere. Personally, I would not have one.

Strength:

Cheap. I paid $130 shipped. Hooked it up to my PC. MP3s sound great. good base. Has the BBE logic. Looks good. Has a built in timer, so can use as alarm. I even fooled around with the beat feature. can't say it's very useful, but it's all right. wooden cabinets for speakers.

Weakness:

I don't particularly care about the slot machine game. Some controls not too intuitive, have to look at manual to set time. Obviously, it's only 2 speakers, so 3d positioning is not as good as 5 spkr or headphones. For some reason I get a low freq. component when I play burned music CDR's. Maybe because they are scratched.

For the money I paid, this system gets an easy 5 stars, at least for the things I use it for. Obviously you can get better systems, but at nowhere near this price. Sorry that some of you had bad out of box experiences, but no problems here.

Strength:

Nice to look at, overall good sound, remote does almost everything

Weakness:

The game is crap, removal of cd's is very tricky.

The system was purchased for £169.99 in a local hifi retail
store in London, UK. When I got the system home I was
delighted with the overall quality and features. At the price
I paid it is well worth the money.
