Strength:

easy setup, color coded plugs, wall mount option, 3 a/v inputs

Weakness:

heavy.

This is a review of the new 2100 model, I was looking for a panamax but after some searching and reviews from this site, I went with the monster 2100. This is a great product if you care about your Home theater system. I did notice a improvement in picture quality and a little in sound quality.I have a directv system and directv squeezes the bandwidth so much that anything helps. I also have cable and a outdoor antenna so the Monster 2100 has inputs for all 3. I noticed the most improvement on the directv signal.
overall very good product

I recently purchased a Sony XBR 36" WEGA Television, then of course I had to upgrade my outdated Kenwood reciever. So I purchased a Sherwood Newcastle AVP9080 Pre-amp,Tuner / AM9080 Amp separates. This was my first entry into high end audio, and even though I'm the person my friends turn to to hook up there Hi-Fi Audio systems (interconnect, PIP & integration) I had some problems with power and some minor very low level hums.after a day (full) of trouble shooting, I concluded with two problems, 1) the low level hum was coming from my cable in (unfortunatly this is what I have to use for a few more weeks until i can complete my Satellite , DVHS system), also minor pops in the video play back regardles of the source.
After a couple hours of talking to some people in the know and some calls to my local electronics dealer/distributers Idecided to go to my high end audio video dealer (Ken Cranes) and get there assesment of the situation. They told me of simalar problems in ALL there systems set up in a particularly older showroom they swore that the MONSTER POWER HTS 2000 would solve all my problems.
atfer a couple minutes of deciding if I should go buy a separate power conditioner (approx 1/2 the price of the HTS 2000) then go buy the appropriate material to ground the cable (approx 1/4 the price of HTS 2000), I decided to buy the MONSTER POWER HTS 2000.
I got home and within 20 minutes I was playing full Audio/Video crystal clear, the HTS 2000 solved all my problems out-of-the-box it looks good and even comes with lables for all my cables (in and out).
this is a great product, take it from a manager af a large maintenance shop who usually likes to do things like individual grounding and power requirements separatly and with my own two hands, the MONSTER CABLE HTS 2000 Line Conditioner is a must for any Audio/Video buff.

looked at the hts 2000, but got the hts 3000. The improvement is incredible! Video colors and resolution are much improved, color saturation is intense, sound, even at low level,is clearly defined. Subtle improvements in sound tracks reveal detail that just was not there previously. Buy this before it is back orderd. It is the single most significant improvement you can make to any system.

I purchased the 2000 based on a review in The Absolute Sound. Figured I had nothing to lose but a little time, as I had 30 days to return it if I did not like it. Damn, this conditioner is good. I really noticed an improvement in the lows, as well as a lower noise floor. But what really sealed the deal for me was the provision to run my F.M. signal through the Monster, resulting in a mega improvement in getting rid of background noise that plagued my tuner's reception. At $199.00 its worth every dime, and then some. Try it you won't be sorry.

12 Outlets, 3 RF in/out, phone line

I bought this unit at a great price from www.globe-mart.com for $133 shipped. I was a bit skeptical, like many other here but figure the worst that could happen is that I get an expensive power strip.

I am happy to say that I was very pleased with the unit. As far as sound from my receiver/DVD/CD I didnt really notice a huge difference. I did get the feeling that the bass response was tighter and more controled but I havent done a A/B so I cant say for sure. Video from the DVD didnt seem all that different either. Keep in mind though that my power is, I think, farily clean to begin with because my HT is right where the power lines come into the house so current doesnt have to go through all of the house wire. At least thats my feeling.

The one thing that I really saw a big difference was the cable TV signal. At first I didnt realize it but after surfing the channels for a while I noticed that the image was much much clearer. It probably took me a while because I had been focusing on the DVD/CD audio and video play back and hadnt even though about the cable which has always given me grounding problems. My cable company is pretty lousy. Anyway, the improvement was definitly there: cleaner, shaper, much more enjoyable.

Considering that unit was so inexpensive, the number of outlets, 2-stage filter, and the insurance you get, it was definitly money well spent.

Strength:

Sound is improved and video reception clears up noticeably.

Weakness:

Missing those outlet labels. TV hums.

When I received the HTS2000 from Audio Direct, I immediately connected my system onto it. My system consists of Denon AVR 3300, HK PA5800, M&K 750 THX system, Hitachi 53DX89B RPTV, Tosh SD5109 and XLO cables. Upon first power, I quickly noticed that the visuals improved greatly gone are the lines and banding. As for the audio, the bass was tighter and the soundstage and imaging improved.

The only problem I have with the unit is the hum from the TV. I'll try a ground solution.

Strength:

Well built, plenty of clearly labeled outlets.

Weakness:

Loss of audio detail.

I purchased the HTS 2000 hoping that it would protect my hi-fi system, and minimally not degrade the performance of the system, and perhaps improve it.

After carefully creating a hi-fi system that balanced a reasonable budget against the goal of simulating a live performance, I did not want to reduce the fidelity of the system. At the same time, I live in an area that is prone to several power outages a year, and living without a surge protector worried me.

I have tried several surge protectors and power strips in the past, and none of them was able to protect the system and not affect the music. Instead, I use a hospital grade power strip from Wiremold, that does not have light, switch , or circuit breaker to effect the power passed to the components.

So I was very happy to hear that Monster had a product that would meet my needs. After installing the Monster, and comparing its performance to the Wiremold, I am sad to report that there is a significant loss in detail.

It is easy to hear, and is quite noticable. Simply listen to softer background instruments in an ensemble, and you will notice they sound less real, and more subdued.

Perhaps if you have a really noisy line, the Monster might be an improvement, but for me it goes back to the store and I will risk a power surge.

My system includes:

Wiremold power strip
Naim 90/92 AMP/Pre-amp
Pioneer Elite CD changer
MSB 24/96 MDAC
Monarch DIP reclock/dejitter
B&W CDM1 SE speakers
Paradigm Sub-Woofer

Strength:

More than adequate number of outlets. Versatile-works with video or audio. Well made for the money.

Weakness:

I've heard PLC's that make a lot more audible improvement to the sound than this unit does, but they are a lot more expensive, and not as versatile.

With 12 outlets (6 always on, 6 switched), you'll probably have enough to go around, even if you combine your video and audio systems. Based on MOV
technology (it's worth getting Brickwall's material to read their rant
about the inadequacies of this technology), it's not gonna protect as your gear as well as Brickwall's will.
However, UNlike Brickwall's stuff, this one won't do anything to hurt the sound of your system. I heard a slightly quieter, cleaner background, with better
contrast and colors on video, but nothing revelatory. This is the only one
I know that'll protect all your audio and video gear-there's even a protected
phone line jack, and one for cable, and one for satellite dishes, for under $200.00. Comes with freebie Monster video cable, modem cable, and a captive
8 foot Powerline cable as part of the package. A great real world bargain.
