Strength:

convenience, noticeable difference in audio and video clarity

Weakness:

first unit they sent blew a fuse within 3 hours...the replacement has worked fine so far.

I do not usually buy Monster products, because I think most of their cables are overpriced and not as great as they are hyped up to be (in terms of build quality and sound quality). That having been said, and after reading the reviews on this site, I decided to try the HTS-2000 Power Conditioner. I got it for $125 at globalmart.com, for a full $75 less than most other places I checked.

It is geared toward Home Theater set-ups; I have a nice 5.1 ht setup, as well as a nice 2-channel music setup, all integrated into one system totalling about $3500 spent. I have experienced noticeable improvement, mostly in audio quality, but video as well. For audio, the high-end has become much more vivid, clear, crisp, with more detailed sound-staging, and coming out of a 'blacker' (i.e. quieter, I think) background). Bass is noticeably tighter, but the difference is not as striking as on the high-end. I immediately heard the difference this strip makes on both music and ht playback. I was pleased. I have a pretty high-fidelity music/ht rig, and this is sort of the icing on the cake, plus it offers impressive protection features to boot.
I ran my coax cable tv line through the unit and, despite some skepticism, have enjoyed a crisper image, with more brilliant colors and richer darks. Again, this improvement is on a smaller scale than the audio improvements I noted above, but still noticeable.
So I am happy with the product. I can run my entire system through this strip (including high-current power amps; the unit has 2 dedicated high-current outlets, 12 outlets in all), and have enjoyed 'betterness' in every component, and also the added protection from surges and spikes. For $125 it is money well spent. Investing in power protection for your equipment is a must, and the Monster unit has improved my sound & video as well.

Strength:

Good RF noise filter

I agree with a previous review-if you have a durty power line and your equipment don't have very high end power supply, you may benifit from this product. It did at least three things to my system:

1) reduced hum of my sub (JBL PB-10)to a half(?)
2) cleanup TV image from DVD, cable(Time Wanner), and a one channel Sat dish
3) make my audio output cleaner, with better defined bass.

I used it for less than a week and have not observed and negative effect yet.

My system

Old Sony ES receiver and CD changer, Mirage OM-10 speakers, RCA DVD player, JBL PB-10 sub, and Hitachi 32' TV.

I'm pretty happy with the product.

Strength:

slightly better detail and imaging for audio, not used for video

Weakness:

none

This is the unit which got the rave review in Absolute Sound
and I agree it improves sound over just plugging into wall
or using unfiltered strip. I noticed slightly improved presentation of fine musical detail, more detail is revealed, and slightly better 3D soundstaging with improved
spatial location and apparant depth. Well worth $125, you
can spend much more and not get near the improvement. Mine
was purchased from www.globe-mart.com.

I was dissappointed with monster HTS 3500 (stage 3 filtering) and returned the product. This unit softened the
sound by rolling off highs and removing fine musical detail.
Stick with HTS 2000 (stage 2 filtering) and you will get
audio improvements. 6 stars for value. My system:

Musical Fidelity X-Ray cd player
0.5m SilverAudio Hyacinth
M.F. X-P100 preamp
0.5m S.A. Hyacinth
M.F. X-AS100 amp x 2 (bi-amped)

Strength:

Number of outlets, line conditioning, surge suppressions for AC, cable, phone line

Weakness:

none so far

Purchased HTS200 for $135 from www.audio-direct.com I needed 12 AC outlets since my HT system consists of 5 monoblock amps, preamp, dvd, ld, cd, tv, vcr, and cable box. HTS 2000 was able to handle it all. I haven't noticed much of audio improvement, but I definitely noticed a dramatic improvement in picture quality of the cable TV. Picture was smoother and richer. Overall, it was a relitively small investment that offers such a great protection and insurance for AV components, thus improving cable broadcast quality.

Strength:

Audio clarity, video sharpness.

Weakness:

None yet

I just purchased this unit from www.globalmart.com for $124.95 US and I immediately moticed a huge improvement. The sound became a lot cleaner and the imaging was improved drastically. I noticed detail that I either never noticed before, or had to listen a lot harder to notice. The mid-range was improved and the bass got a bit tighter and less "boomy". Overall, my sound is much more pleasing now, and it was very good before. In terms of picture, I still haven't seen a video but through my satellite receiver (Dish Network) the details got a little more precise and the black is definitely blacker. The equipment I have is the following:

Marantz AV-560 preamp/processor
Sim Audio Celeste I-5080 integrated (used as a power amp for my 2 main channels)
NAD 916 power amp for my center and 2 rears
Cambridge Audio D500 CD Player
B & W 603s and CC6
A Pair of Camber speakers for the rears (will be changed soon)

As I said, the biggest improvements are the clarity of the sound and the imaging. Great buy.

Strength:

Well Made, Large diameter power coard (not a cheap one)

Weakness:

none

I tested both the 3500 and the 2000. I liked the looks and the rack mounting features of the 3500 and really wanted to keep it in my 2 channel audio system. After weeks of break in and testing, the 2000 sounded better then the 3500 in that music sounded cleaner, clearer and with a larger sound stage and a little tighter bass. The 3500 made no improvements in my system at all. I took advantage of Global Mart's (Great Prices)30 day return policy and sent the 3500 back.
My system:
Bryston 4b-st amp
Bryston Bp-25 pre-amp
Magnepan 1.6qr speakers
