Strength:

They are very good and can fill a room with rich clean music

Weakness:

price

these speakers are very good but i will tell you right now they dont have much bass but i dont really think that bass is as good on a radio as on a computer i think that it is better off without bass on a computer if you are considering buying these because you want bass buy the altec lansington's these dont have bass really but are very good i love em.

Strength:

Excellent mid-range sound, small size, good looks, made in USA.

Weakness:

somewhat weak treable (you have to boost the treble using your sound card) and the bass (although amazing for speakers this size) cannot compare to subwoofers nowadays, expensive

This unit wins hands down for the 2-piece speaker system category, nothing else comes near. I bought these long before computer audio became the "big" thing, and I still think these speakers sound better than most 3-piece systems sound today.

Nowadays, you can get a lot more for your money (Altec Lansing speakers, for example), but I still think the Bose sound better in terms of sound accuracy and quality.

I'm considering whether adding a sub will complete the setup. Since Bose doesn't sell subs by themselves, I think I'll go for a Yamaha unit.

The left speaker (the one without the amp) emits a vibrating noise when certain bass frequencies are played. I'm disappointed at that, but a sub should solve that problem.

Conclusion: After two years of use, I'm still happy and have no regrets. I'd buy another Bose, but next time I'll go for the Accoustimass.

Strength:

Sound from the size of speakers. Qualilty.

Weakness:

Get muddled at high volume. Not as much bass as some new cpu speakers

I love these little speakers. When I bought them in 97 they were the BESt I could have gotten besides going to the accoustimass CPU setup retailing $400. For the size and only having 2 pseakers no sub these guys ROCK.

Of course now like the previous post these are way expensive for the sound. Nowadays the 3-piece setup is the way to go and for a deal usually. I have no qualms with these speakers other than today you can get a cheaper speaker sounding the same with a sub. For the 2 speaker category..nothing compares..nothing. These have as much bass as a 3-piece setup.

I would still buyt these if had to do it again in 97...if I was to choose to buy them now compared to buynig a 3-piec.i would probably go with the 3-piece like altec or yamaha or monsoon. 3 stars for value..5 for quality.
