Great Value! Sound

Weakness:

none

Picked these up at Circuit City for $29.00each on sale. I'm using them as surround speakers for my setup. I have JBL Hls 820s and Hls center. These speakers compliment my system well and run on a 100W amp. Can't go wrong with the performance and price!

Performance AND Value

Plain looking finish (see: price)

This is a fine speaker. I auditioned it on the store against JBL control X, JBL N24, Bose 301 (I think) and an Acoustic Research bookshelf (forget the model). It's clearly the best of the bunch. The N24 seems to handle movie effect a bit better to my taste, but for music these Polks is a clear winner. The other speakers were just not going to cut it.

At home, they justified the decision. Hooked up to the Yamaha RX V496 as mian speaker, the sound was open, clean and with respectable bass (for the size). Vocal is transparent, high is crisp and there is enough bass there.
Imaging was good too, considering I hanged them on the wall (with built in keyhole) besides the TV (don't have space for stands). What else can I write. These are wonderful speakers even if you don't consider the price, outstanding if you consider the price (CC sometimes sells them for $80 bucks! per pair on sale). There is no way you regret buying these.
