All around a great center speaker. Don't go with the smaller CC3, go with this center. With the 605 S2 fronts and 601 S2 rears, it makes a great sounding system. |

WOW! This speaker is wonderful. Never does it ever seem fatigued on movies. Just great robust sound. They match better to the 600S2 series than the CC6 does. I've got them mated to the 602S2 and it is a match made in heaven. A little pricey but definately worth it. |

Strength:
Breathtaking sound
Weakness:
None My first listen to these speakers was after hearing the Klipsch legend series, B&W 603s2, and NHT (not sure what model) then I heard these....AMAZING!!!! I instantly fell in love. I was waiting for the right speaker for me to jump out and grab me and this was it. The LCR in the speaker model number stands for Left, Right, Center. This speaker can be used for the left, center, or right. This is also one of the only speakers that I know of that was designed to be either used horizontally or vertically. Very Cool. These speakers are what I want, 5 to be exact for Dolby Digital sound. If you are looking for speakers in the $500/ea range these are it. Do yourself a favor and go have a listen. I have tested these speakers with 2 receivers: Denon AVR3300 and Sony STR DA555ES and they perform GREAT! They even sound OK with less expensive receivers. Good Luck. Strength:
clarity, dynamic range of sound, dialogue is incredible
Weakness:
none This speaker is by far the best in its class. It's not excessively bright thanks to the kapton tweeter. Similar Products Used: compared to: NHT VT-1.2a, Signet AVC, Mirage OM-C3 and their respective speaker combinations |

Strength:
Extremely good imaging and clarity for a $500 speaker. LCR combination. I went shopping with a friend of mine last week since he was looking for new speakers. We spent 8 hours shopping around and doing listening tests. Not until the last store did we come upon a speaker that was as impressive as he (and I) were looking for. Strength:
Smoooooooth sounding!! Dialog very easy to follow, male voices sound more natural. Very musical.
Weakness:
none After months of searching for a center channel speaker to anchor a new surround setup, I finally decided on the LCR6/S2. I listened to Paradigm, Vandersteen, Mirage and Infinity models before deciding on the B&W. The closest competitor was B&W's own CC6/S2, but the overwhelming clear dialog and full range sound that the LCR6/S2 delivers was the deciding factor for me. If you are thinking about purchasing a CC6/S2, bite the bullet and spend the extra $120 or so and go with the LCR6/S2 - your ears won't regret it (although my wallet sure did!). Strength:
Good sounding speaker when used as the left or right channel speaker in a vertical postion. Good bass response for a small home theater speaker.
Weakness:
Center channel dispersion is very weak when sitting 8-9 feet from the speaker. This is when the speaker is placed on its side. This speaker sounds like a $500 B&W speaker, so if that trips your trigger, go for it. At least for the left and right channels when use in an upright position. I purchased one for a center channel speaker, but returned it after a couple days due to its off axis treble response, which to say the least, is not very good. I then checked the specs, and found the horizontal dispersion to be 40 degrees, and the vertical dispersion to be 10 degees! Well, when you lay the speaker on its side, you do NOT get very good sound except dead smack on axis. Now, I sit about 8-9 ft from the speaker. If you are further back, the problem MAY diminish. I replaced the LCR6 with a speaker designed to be used as a CC speaker. Doesn't matter what brand, just make SURE ANY speaker promoted as an LCR has the off axis treble response YOU need when used as a center channel. You may be like me and not nitice this trait until friends come over to watch a movie and you are stuck in an outer seat. Would rate this as four stars for left and right, but only a 3 for CC. Strength:
Clarity of the voice, that what a Center Speaker should be
Weakness:
Pretty huge size for TV under 32" I have been using the B&W CC6 for over 2 years, eventually I cannot stand with the voice quality coming out from the CC6. I have been spending the last two year trying to tune my Yamaha A1 AV amp to make a better sound with CC6, trying to replace bi-wire or non-bi-wire cable....but everything failed. I still could not hear what the people say via the CC6, eventually I gave up and went into a shop to get the LCR 6 after reading review from this page. No complaint....when I hooked up with my system, the people voice from the "Matrix" come out straight without even burn in the new LCR6. It work like a charm with my 601 main and rear, everything work in harmony. Now I do not have to turn up the center speaker level but get a clear voice from the movie. If you are still thinking about replacing your CC6, I would suggest not to tune your amp or your ear, start saving for the $400 and get a LCR6. Similar Products Used: B&W CC6 S1 |

Strength:
Clarity, very smooth midrange, fast transient response
Weakness:
weight, limited high frequency horizontal dispersion when used as a center channel speaker Just got the LCR6S2 for Christmas for a center channel speaker. Replaced a JBL center channel (what can I say, I plead temporary insanity). The clarity, definition, and wideband response of the B&W are all excellent. The speaker is very good at resolving complex sounds into very distinct and separate "voices". The clarity of dialog combined with ambient sounds is truly amazing, even on network TV programs. Very good depth and space around sounds. Some high frequency drop-off off-axis (this is noted in B&W's specs), but this is not a major problem in my set-up. Overall, very highly recommended. Strength:
Dialogue is very clear and warm, outstanding looks
Weakness:
None I listened to this speaker and the CC6 at my audio store, the sales rep would switch between the two speakers during dialogue which was very helpful in my selection. We watched a dvd and had the scene replaying every 10 seconds or so. The CC6, although good, was somewhat muffled and unclear, while the LCR6 was much more dynamic. The same goes for effects as well, and it matches very well with my system which includes the following: Similar Products Used: CC6 |
