Strength:

Dialogue is very clear and warm, outstanding looks

Weakness:

None

I listened to this speaker and the CC6 at my audio store, the sales rep would switch between the two speakers during dialogue which was very helpful in my selection. We watched a dvd and had the scene replaying every 10 seconds or so. The CC6, although good, was somewhat muffled and unclear, while the LCR6 was much more dynamic. The same goes for effects as well, and it matches very well with my system which includes the following:

602S2 fronts
601S2 surrounds
302 surround-backs
LCR6S2 center
Denon 1500 dvd (very good except for the d@mn out of sync sound)
Denon 3801 receiver (awesome)

The previous reviews helped me find this great speaker and speaker line, thanks

I just upgraded my older B&W rig to some shiny new 603s2 and LCR6 s2. The step up from the 603s2 from my 620i was noticable, but not earthshaking. That's not the case with the LCR6: un-stinking-believable.
Aside from the size (it's pretty big for a center, IMHO), this speaker is ideal for a center channel. Wide range, easy on the ears, overall a great piece. My only complaint is that I can hear audio artifacts on my DSS system now!

I've compared speakers from Klipsch, Mission, KEF Q, JBL & B&W for the last two months. They varied in price and performance, but I've chosen the LCR6 S2 as the corner stone for my HT setup since the center channel is, IMHO ,the most burden-laid speaker of all, and that speaker is just built for the job. You could probably find better sounding center-channel speakers from some of the companies mentioned, but you would have to pay much more (though this baby isn't very cheap either). If you want to get things perfect - put three of those up-front, or even better - 5 all around ;-)
To sum up: A great speaker with a fantastic sound. Just go out and listen to it.

Strength:

Depth and Breadth of sound; Neutral and accurate

Weakness:

REALLY... none!

I shopped around a lot before I bought this speaker for all three of my front speakers. I liked how full it sounded; a lot of other center channels (especially cheaper ones) were either too muddy or too bright. I find that this speaker brings forth all the information without altering the sound too much; using it for all three of my fronts, it blends together during movies and music DVDs seamlessly. My big Definitive sub covers the bottom end well, and I have two 602s for my surrounds.
The more I have used these speakers, the more I love them. Yes, it is big; when it was setting on my 27" it looked huge; but once my 36" Sony XBR was delivered, it looked perfect. I have the Left and Right Front speakers setting on 24" stands; I wanted to get them fairly high, so as to not be to much lower than the center, but didn't want them too high off the ground since they are very vertical in shape.
They are also built well; heavy and solid; hit your knuckle on it and you will see (hear)what I mean. I love my speakers!!!! And what someone else said about eagles and James Taylor sounding great was correct. Jurassic Park was intense. Better than a movie theater!!!!

-The importance of the centre channel system in an AV
set up cannot be underestimated as it is by far the most

Strength:

It matches the B&W DM604 S2 perfect and is the most powerfull center ive ever seen.

Weakness:

When you use it like a center the B&W mark is horisontally, only weakness i could find.

I tested it on Die Hard this weekend and in the gun fights you could realy feel it hit your body.
I was afraid that the 2,5 way system could make the voices sound like they came from one side, but this only happens when you put your face in it.
Use it with:
Front:B&W DM 604 S2
Dipole surrounds:Paradigm ADP-150
AV-Reciver: Denon AVR 3300
DVD-player: Denon DVD 3000
No sub yet, but is on top on my list.

Strength:

crystal clear sound, excellent tight bass, solid build.

Weakness:

none

I bought a pair of the B&W 602s2 speakers for my front mains and needed a center channel. After reading reviews on here i knew that the LCR6s2 was good, but when i bought the 602's the salesman told me that the CC6s2 was all i needed and that it matched those speakers. well when i got home 80 miles away i first hooked everything up and did all my level checks on all 5 speakers. i then went right into 5 channel stereo. The CC6s6 does not and i repeat DOES ABSOLUTLY NOT sound matched in anyway you listen to it. the drivers are smaller the tweeter is made out of the same material but different design, the high end was muffled. So i went and put on an action movie, samething. if you own a pair of good speakers and you have an ear for good crystal clear sound then you wont like this. So i decided to switch 1 of the 602s2 with the center channel and listen, WHAT A DIFFERANCE,Sounded excellent. So when i called the salesman for the LCRs2 i come to find out he had none in stock (thus selling me the cc6s2). well i told him to order me 1 and there was no hesitation or comment when i told him the cc6s2 sucked. I paid a $140.00 more for it with tax and it is the best center channel i ever heard i cant get up off the couch. and in 5 channel stereo, (like us newyorkers say), FAGETABOUDIT, EXCELLENT. I hope this helps you on your purchuse save your money and get the LCRs2 and let me know if i was right. good luck.

Strength:

Perfect match to my 602's

Weakness:

size, depending on where you place it

When I bought my 602's, I originally planned on purchasing the cc6 as the center. The dealer insisted on me listening to the LCR6 before he would sell me the cc6. I was initially turned off by the size of this speaker, especially compared to the cc6, but when it got to my house, it really didn't seem as large.

The LCR6 is the perfect match for the 602's, the cc6 is not. I know have a flawless front stage that I am very pleased with. The cc6 was too "thin" , where the LCR6 is seemless.

I'm glad my dealer insisted on me listening to this speaker, do yourself a favor and listen to it as well.

Strength:

Full range speaker. B&W quality and value.

Weakness:

Size (But its worth it!)

This is an outstanding center channel speaker!

To put things into perspective, my Fiancée who says, "it doesn’t sound any different to me" no matter what I do to the system, noticed the improvement.

I had the CC6 S2. Its one of the best center channel speakers around. However, if you have larger front speakers such as the B&W 603, 604, 605 the LCR6 is the one for you.

It really shines with the larger front speakers. It can definitely keep up no matter what material being played. If you listen to a lot of music DVD's like the Eagles, Talking Heads, or James Taylor..., you will absolutely flip!

My System:
Front Speaker: B&W 604 S2
Center Speaker: B&W LCR6
Rear Speaker: B&W 601 S2
Sub Speaker: B&W ASW2000

Receiver: Sony DA777ES
DVD: Sony DVP-530SD
Jukebox: Sony CX90ES

If you want to buy B&W quality but are afraid of the dealers, talk to Mike (The Owner) at:
Audio Visions in Strongsville, Ohio 440-878-1622.

He is a great guy to deal with. He really knows his stuff and has an awesome place filled with the best toys in town.

PS
If you happen to stop there during football season, you might see one or more Cleveland sports celebrities hanging around his place buying their umpteenth system for their friends.
