Very nice product from Boston. Mates well with my 950's and Denon 2800. VR-12 sounded a little deeper but I did not think that was worth the extra 100 dollars and being so bulky.

Strength:

Size, flat freq. response, dispersion, BA product match

Weakness:

limited low freq. response

For its size, price, and weight it is one of the smoothest response center channel speaker available. I had planned to use the VR 12 but space would not allow proper placement. Proximity to the screen seemed to be an important factor and the 12 was too large. The VR 10 handles dialog and effects well and my measurements indicate that the sensitivity matches my VR-970's very well. Although the coloration is somewhat different than the 970's, the 10 does an excellent job. I do not agree that running the VR 10 instead of the VR 12 with the VR 970's is a mistake. I have found that requirements of a center channel for the Boston Acoustics VR 970's are well met by the BA VR 10 and there is a great deal of placement latitude because of the smaller size.
