A little pricey I use the AC-300 for all 5 speakers in my 5.1 system. I was blown away by the clarity in the reproduction after 10 minutes with the entire system setup. I immediately trekked over to my brother's house to compare it to his Paradigm system and mine blew his away. He runs more power (270 W) to my 120 W and the same music sounded at least 10 times better on mine. I did listen to many speakers in all price ranges and this setup hands down sounded the best. The shop I bought it from had a room that contained Energy as well as Paradigm speakers so I could do a decent comparison between the 2. After listening to many more systems after I bought the AC-300s I definitely would buy them again. Similar Products Used: First Timer |

Strength:
Clarity, good bass reponse, well made/braced
Weakness:
End caps, base doesn't have tilt adjustment I have had this speaker for about one year. Till now I still can't decide if I should run it large or small. It gets a little congested at high volumes if set to large. I love the clarity it provides as dialogue can be discerned during hectic scenes. On music, Eagles DTS, it sounds great and really delivers quality mid to mid-low bass frequencies. I am happy I bought it and believe it is a good value even at goodguy prices. A friend of mine has the paradigm CC 450 and these units are comparable. Similar Products Used: Paradigm CC450, Energy Exls-C |

Strength:
Great sound in a small package.
Weakness:
A bit pricey for a bookshelf speaker. Bought 3 of these from the Audio Shop in Canada and they sound great. Upgraded all three front speakers from Energy eXL-16 and eXL-C. Moved the eXL-16s to the back and the system sounds fantastic for both music and movies. If you are looking for the best price on these visit the Audio Shop's web site http://www.audioshop.on.ca Similar Products Used: Energy eXL-16 |

Endcaps were hard to put on I finally replaced my Pardigm Reference 450 center channel to match my Energy Audissey 5+2. All I can say is WOW! What a big difference this speaker makes when playing movies or music. I have been looking for this speaker for a long time and to my dismay this speaker is no longer made. I found it on Ebay brand new!! If you can find one pick it up!! Similar Products Used: Paradigm Reference 450 |

Clarity, depth, bang for the buck!
Weakness:
None so far I have owned my AC-300 for over two years and it is without a doubt one of the best investments I have made in a long time. It matches perfectly with my Veritas 1.8 front speakers and the C-8's that I use for the rear. You can pay more for great speakers but you won't find anything much better than the products from Energy. I previously owned the highly regarded C-4 and AVS and would also recommend these speakers. Strength:
Double purpose as Center channel and L/R. Nice depth of sound.
Weakness:
Size I just bought these last week, bought three to use as L/C/R per recommendation from Energy. They sound great! I am now going back through my DVD's watching them again to get the full experience! I upgraded from the Take 5 speakers, which I loved, but I now appreciate what I was missing. I can't wait until I get my new surround RVSS matching speakers, if the upgrade is anywhere near the same magnitude, I may never leave the house! They were a little larger than I wanted, but they still fit into the cabinets. |

These superbly built center channel beats even a Legacy Cinema II. The good news is you can get them for a mere $250 new! Paradigm's reign as the ultimate budget brand ends here. Where can you find new Paradigms for almost half price? Anyway, the sound is sonically matched with the RVSS surrounds; and while it is meant to be used with the Veritas series, I found the C2's to be a good match as well. For the price, unless you know a distributor as a friend, it doesn't get any better than this. 5 stars is more than it deserves! |
