Recently had to replace my centre channel due to an unfortunate incident. I audition several different makes and models and it came down to a choice between the Energy AC-300 and the Definitive Technologies CLR-2000.
Both speakers were excellent with the CLR-2000 being slightly better for sound, however when I factored in the cost difference, the AC-300 is by far the better speaker. $440.00 (Canadian Funds) for the AC-300, $870.00 for the CLR-2000. To my ear the CLR-2000 is not $430.00 better than the CLR-2000.

The sound reproduction is simply outstanding.

Have had this centre for a coupla' months but held off the review until I heard it driven by the Yamaha V995 (connected by DH Labs Silver Sonic cable.) I made a good choice. Excellent vocal reproduction! Am very happy with the purchase, sound and price for this top-notch Canuck product. (from A&B Sound, southside store, Edmonton.)

I recently purchased this speaker to replace an Acoustic Image center. This speaker is worlds past the AI center. It has clear, loud, deep, sound.
It blends perfectly with my fronts and presents a seamless soundstage.
For $249, I'm thinking about buying four more for perfect tonal matching all the
way around!!!

This centre is mated to c-6 mains, c-4 rears and an e:XL-S10 sub, connected to an RX-C2095 Yamaha receiver. This centre is one of the cleanest I have listened to and a great value.

I spent several months listening to speakers for HT. Listened to Paradigm,NHT,Sound Dynamics,Mission,B&W and many more. Liked entire Energy line, but found AC300 to be an outstanding little speaker. In fact I liked it so much, I bought 5 for a perfect timbre match. The transitions are seemless, they have an excellent sound stage and are a very dynamic. I've only used them about 100 hours so far, but sound great(was told by dealer it could take 300 hours or more, to give them good burn in) and they get better and better every day. Other equipment:
Marrantz SR-18 Receiver
Sony 7700 DVD Player
Panasonic SVHS VCR

Strength:

Excellent center speaker...clean, clear sound...very detailed. Matches well with my other Energy Speakers.

Weakness:

Looks a bit large sitting on my 36" set, but nothing to really complain about.

Overall a wonderful center speaker. Hard to beat the price and performance.....
