Strength:

Clean clear vocals and power handling capabilities. Can be bi-wired.

Weakness:

Large footprint!! Small binding posts & Heavy

Works well my RF-3s', KSW-12 and RS-3 surrounds. I've
bi-wired the RC-3 as well as the RF-3's. Bi-wiring adds more depth and tighter base reproductions from these units. The entire Reference Series works great together.

My system consists of the following:

NAD T 761 A/V Receiver
Klipsch RF-3's
Klipsch RC-3
Klipsch RS-3's
Klipsch KSW12

Sony DVP-530D
Sony CDP-CA0ES
Sony MiniDisk MDS-JE320
Sony Cassette TC-K444ES
Mitsubishi 52" Wide Screen

The Reference Series also integrates well with these components.

Strength:

Gold material in woofers get vocals right. Tight bass

Weakness:

Fairly big in size. Husbands, stand your ground if you want the best.

This is an easy 5 stars. If you read my review concerning the Klipsch RB5 you will note that it is an excellent if
not great speaker. So what about the RC-3. Would I be committing sacrilege if I said that the RC-3 is about 99% timber matched with the RB5's. The RC3 sounds so good that I asked myself what was preventing me from buying three RC3's and using them for the front soundstage. The RC3 and RB5's are that good people. Vocals have that clean Klipsch sound to them. Try buying smaller center speakers to save size (wife factor), youll be sorry. There is ample bass with the RC3 to boot.

Strength:

crisp clean sound. attractive design

Weakness:

none.

First of all if you don't own these don't rate them. It is unfair to everyone who reads these reviews.

Second to the only reviewer(who doesn't own these)you don't use the center for bass. set the speaker as small on your reciever and let the subwoofer do the bass.

This was a great compliment to my set of rf3's and rc3's. The sound keeps getting better as they get older. I would recomend a marantz or dennon receiver. These two brands compliment the horns of the eclipse perfectly.

Strength:

Not too large, sounds great, looks great (matches everything), great value for yer money...

Weakness:

Sensitivity could be a bit higher

Well...I got thsi center about two weeks ago and haven't watched anything since without it. It is currently hooked up to an older Yamaha receiver (Pro-logic/read my review), a Sony cdp-cx300 cd changer, along with a set of DCM K12-Series II speakers (read my review). One noticeable problem with the DCMs is the lack of a crisp high toneal range - but i knew that when i got them with teh idea of buying a center cahnnel to fill in the missing pitch range. This RC-3 is certainly it! Not only does it have an extremely clear sound, it also fills in the missing higher pitches, as well as providing some bass from its two 6.5inch woofers. I compared it to a Mirage and Boston Acoustics center channels of comprable price (350 bucks). The Mirage had poor clarity and only seemed to throw off the middle of the audible range. The Boston acoustic was clearer than the Mirage, but seemed to be missing the entire lower range. This Klipsch threw off the most bass, the highest pitches, and was the clearest of the three - as well as coming highly recommended by the good guys of Bryn Mawr Stereo and Video (part of the Tweater group). It seemlesly fits in with my DCM's and is a hit with conversation in movies and all. It was also demonstrated to me with no additional speakers beign used (jsut the center channel playing cd's) and I was quite impressed - almost could have passed as a full speaker system - range, visual listening, etc....

Strength:

Looks, build quality, clarity, openess of sound

Weakness:

None, except the grille could be a little more sturdy

Well, there isn't much more that I can add that hasn't already been said- the RC-3 is a tremendous value and an amazing center channel speaker (notice I didn't say "for the price"). I paid 279.00 for the speaker.

The first thing that immediately jumped out at me is the utter clarity of sound, especially on vocals. I can hear every word, even through the explosions and car crashes. To me, the other speakers I auditioned sounded muffled and compressed. Keeping in mind that some of the center channels that I listened to were upwards of $800, this is quite a revolation.

The RC-3 is also more spacious than most other center channel speakers. The voices are pin-point with a nice, open, realistic soundstage around the voices. Very nice!

I noticed that thr reviewers on this site were combining the RC-3 with other Klipsch speakers. I was worried the Klipsch woundn't blend with my Magnepan MMG front speakers. The MMG's are amazingly smooth, detailed, natural and tranparent for home theater, not to mention what they are capable of for music. After I turned the center channel level on my receiver down to -9db, they blended almost perfectly (the MMG's are 86 db sensitivity while the RC-3 is 97 db sensitivity). Even in movies where there is a definite panning of sound from side to side, the RC-3 does a surprising job of making itself invisible. This can be attributed to the Klipsches own clarity of sound. To me, the ultimate challange for a "traditional" center channel speaker is to be able to blend in with designs like the Magnepan's and the Martin Logan's. This speaker passes easily.

Bottom line, before spending upwards of a 1000.00 for a center channel, check out this Klipsch. I haven't found a better sounding center speaker yet. Highly recommended and an easy 5 star rating.

Looking for a subwoofer? Buy the Klipsch KSW-12. I have one and it is fantastic. I will be posting a review on the sub soon. It also has a perfect 5 star rating on this site with over 30 reviewers!

Strength:

Clear vocals and clean, full-bodied sound

Weakness:

It is huge...which is okay since I am planning on a bigger tv anyway

It brings new life to DVD movies!!! A salesperson recommended it to me and I auditioned it against several other center channels. Then I read the reviews on this board. This is clearly a winner. I also have the RS3, RF3, and a KSW12 subwoofer. If you can, buy the whole set together to get a great deal!!!

Strength:

Coloration, Accuracy, looks, price

Weakness:

A bit too big for my taste, it even looks big on my 41" Sony Projection TV
Apart of that, none that my ears could detect

Have bought this center after numerous audio tests in various shops; it is definitively the best I have heard, at whatever price.

The vocals (that is what it is primarily intended for) from DVD movies are as precise as they should be.

I am happy to add an other 5 * review to the list

Strength:

Clarity, power, "distance".

Weakness:

None at all.

I have some fairly loud speakers on my system that tend to drown out any center. The Klipsch was the perfect solution, with unparalleled clarity. The most impressive part is that you can still get perfect sound at more then 20 feet away. It projects the voices perfectly. This is the PERFECT answer as a center for any large room or loud setup. And at around $300, the price can't be beat.

Strength:

Clarity good base

Weakness:

cabinets are cheap

I purchased these primarilly for a home theater so clarity was very important to me. I like these and the B&W equally well. Since these were a little cheaper I went with these over the B&W. Since I have the speaker hidden under the screen behind a very thin (sound friendly) fabric, the size is not a concern for me. The clarity is great. I can hear sounds in DVD's I never noticed before. When I installed them I put my Bose 2001's on the left channel and the Klipsch on the right and alternated between them so I could compare sound. The Klipsch was a hands down winner. Since they cost twice as much I expected them to be better, but I did not expect it to be such a hugh difference. Great speaker.

My system is as follows:

Klipsch RC3 center channel
Klipsch RF3 mains
Bose in the rear
Paradigm PDR-10 subwoofer
Denon 3300 receiver
Toshiba 1200 DVD
Infocus lp350 projector
