Where Can I get one of these Maggie center CC speakers. It seams everyone had a 4 month backlog and I would like to get one NOW. New or slightly used. I push these Maggies with a Dennon 3300 and WOW you should here it However I have to Crank the Dennon SW channel to full to get the real BOOM effect. Similar Products Used: Maggie MG-1's |

Strength:
Clear and Articulate
Weakness:
Not much below 100hz Its now been almost a year since I hade this incredible speaker. I have listened to many different center speakers before even considering this one. Martin Logan at almost twice the price and a few lower end models of Mirage, and Def. Technology. None of them can even compare to the natural sounds that come from this speaker. At low volume levels this speaker is so articulate its scary what comes from it. At high levels this thing doesn't give up at all it just keeps belting it out sweet and smooth with no particular area of exageration. The only gripe that I have with this speaker is that its doesn't have anything below a 100hz so I have to route my processor to pick up those frequency and direct them to the sub-woofer. Although switching back and forth to make a comparison there really isn't much difference. I'm driving this speaker with a Carver M500t amp mono block so its getting 500watts pump through its veins and it just loves it. Now of course this is just opinion and some may find it not true at all but, If you have a dealer in the area give it a listen and I think you'll agree though its a credible center speaker for the money. Strength:
Crisp sound, even at low volume levels
Weakness:
Only complaint is that the adjustable feet weren't long enough, I had to buy a longer foot due to my TV... Even though the speaker is not broken in yet, it clearly blows away the Infinity CC-3 I had on it before. Voices and sound effects coming from the center channel are extremely clear and easily understandable. Can't wait for it to be broken in... it's hard to believe it'll get better. |

I don't own Magnepan speakers but I just had to comment on them after hearing a demo at the store. This center channel is more accurate than my Aerial cc3 period. That makes this speaker the best center channel I know of. Mabe it does not play as loud or have the supreme dynamics of the Aerial but people sound more real and natural through the Magnepan. Low level detail is easy to percieve and makes movies very fun to listen to. I would reccomend buying this center channel for any pair of left and right speakers you have. And I would bet It would do a far better job than the center that is supposed to match those L&R speakers. five stars all the way! |

Strength:
crystal clarity, excellent dispersion, highly musical
Weakness:
big sucker Again I must point out a misconception regarding the bass performance of this excellent speaker (as I did in my review of the 1.6's). The bass response of this speaker is good (not great) and, most importantly, I have had no integration problems whatsoever. That's because I use the 5-channel EAD PowerMaster 1000 amp, which extracts the best possible bass performance from any speaker. Like all Maggies, it doesn't thump you in the chest with bass, but is full and rich. That said, there isn't another speaker that beats this speaker in terms of sheer invisibility. Strength:
all that everybody has already said.
Weakness:
the same. Well it finally came after 10 months of waiting. It was well worth the wait.In the time that I ordered it & got it,they went & changed the name from MGCC to MGCC1.I let it burn for 4 days when I left town for a long weekend. When I came back the first dvd that I played was"private Ryan".It's a lot of bang for the money & MG handled it well.I noticed it was a little high endy so I changed the metal attenuator with some copper speaker wire & the speaker smoothed out noticeably. It blends well with my maggie fronts.Very seamless.hopefully it will sweeten up just like my 12's did.It works well with music. Strength:
Excellent resolution and seamless reproduction.
Weakness:
Large size and limited availabilty. This is the first permanent center channel used in my system and I cannot believe the improvement it has made in movie soundtrack reproduction. My main speakers (Magnepan MG-1.5) always did a credible job using a phantom center channel but the MGCC-1 is a a real plus and well worth the fair amount of space it requires. My unit was acquired second-hand and cost substantially less than a new MGCC-1, but I have to admit that this would easily be worth $1000. I have auditioned the Martin Logan and Vandersteen center channels but these do not present the same natural speaking voice reproduction and seamless quality of the MGCC-1. There is very limited output below 150 Hz, but this has not been a drawback so far in my system. Don't try to operate it too close (less than about 25 inches) from the wall and you will be rewarded with truly superb sound. Even my wife thinks it is a real winner! This is the best center channel speaker I have heard to date! Period! It is crystal clear, powerful for any speaker (not just a Maggie) and is georgous to boot! This 4 ohm speaker is rated up to 250 watts per channel. Do yourself a favor and listen to this speaker, and email me when you do...would love to hear what you think! Have a large TV to put it on for it is about a yardstick across. Feet adjust to angel speaker to height of listener. |

This is a great center channel speaker. Matched with the Maggie MGLR1's and MGRR1's, it makes up part of an amazing (and affordable!) home theater speaker package. Can't be beat for the money. |
