Strength:

Blew so often I couldn't tell.

Weakness:

See above.

Not as bad an experience as Scruffy the cat, but this speaker's tweeter has blown on me 4 times. I have spent more in repairs than I spent on the speaker. Granted, Saving Ryan's Privates and Jurassic Park push any system to its limits, but this behemoth should be able to take anything. Maybe it was my under-powered Yamaha 1105 receiver. Upping to the Denon AVR-5800 and if it blows again, it will get the balcony treatment. Caveat emptor, pour tons of high end power into this monster or you too will be giving it the deep-six treatment. Spare me the ridicule any pseudo audiophiles out there. This thing should not blow unless hooked up to a Bose Wave Radio.

Strength:

High frequency detail at low level

Weakness:

Low Power Handling, low efficiency

My system: LCR350 for left/right front, cc350 center Marantz SR-19 receiver. The tweeter in my CC350 had to be replaced twice. I decided to replace the speakers with B&W cc6 and dm602 and discovered they are about 6 db more efficient then my previous setup. I think the monitor line of speakers from Paradigm needs a little re-engineering to get rid of these problems.

Flawless item. End of story. Thank God I didn't waste $$$ buying this one & that one. A little research of high end stuff, like Paradigm, and it didn't take long to see the CLEAR difference. There's the CC-350, & there's everything else. & they aren't even close ...... Matched up with the Paradigms Phantoms I've had for years, the CC-350 is the ONLY addition you can make. Along with some ADP-170's out back, you're ready to hear & FEEL movies/music.

Strength:

Great soundstage depth. Clear sound and high power handling. Blends nicely with my Mini Monitors

Weakness:

Ummm.....

I got this center channel from the Sound Room in Traverse City after spending a great deal of time their to look for new rear surrounds. The guy asked me what I had currently and I told him that I had the CC-170 and the Minis up front. He told me that if I brought in the CC-170 he would give me whatever I paid for it to upgrade to the CC-350. Mind you that the CC-170 I had was a year old and I didn't have the box, he took it anyways. Great!

Well when I got home I plugged it in let it break in over night and then the next day I spent a few hours listening to it. Mainly with the Eagles Hell Freezes Over DTS DVD. First thing I noticed was the increase in clairty and the timbre macthing with the Mini's. I thought all this time I could of had this great sound for only 100$ more. But anyhow we all learn. Natural voices and no boomyness or other distorations. Just great clear sound. My recommandation, get this instead of the CC-170, you'll hear things you never heard before...

Happy Listening..

Strength:

Clear sound, natural voices.

Weakness:

None for this kind of price... Except maybe a little heavy

I was using Atoms and CC-170 in front for 3 months and the sound was very nice. But then I changed the Atoms for Mini-Monitors, and the CC-170 was really not a match for those speakers. I was really surprise to see that the sound was not there anymore, and to notice that much of a difference. Maybe I'm crazy, but Atoms + CC-170 was really good, but for the MiniM, you need a CC-350, or else you're missing something. I really like this center, the sound is clearer, brigther, richer than the CC-170. Don't let the reviews fool you, CC-170 is good with Atoms, but CC-350 is for the Monitors serie. My reseller gave me a COMPLETE refund for the CC-170 (after 3 months of abuse and loud listening!) and exchange it for a CC-350 and I paid only the difference! I love this guy. If you're in Québec, stop by Roch Dumouchel in Huntingdon. Better service I ever receive and all his prices are lower than in Montréal!

Strength:

Great clarity and power.

Weakness:

Heavy

This speaker packs considerable power, so it can often overwhelm a listener (but in a good way). I always get a reaction when the center's capability is exercised well. In the Amadeus DVD, for example, there is the scene where Salieri drops Mozart's pristine original manuscripts of music on the floor. The crash of the papers is accurate and quite powerful.
This speaker is quite heavy, so make sure you have adequate support for its 25+ lbs.
A note about speaker cables. I used 14-gauge stranded copper for all my connections. Ends were bananas. I am not certain paying $100/ft will get you that much more performance, especially considering we are talking about audio range. Granted that human hearing is quite accurate, but keeping cable lengths consistent for each channel in your system should supply you with adequate phase control to nullify the ears' sensitivity to these variations. The controversy will continue regardless, but the defining elements in any audio system will always be the speakers: They are the ones that reproduce sound, not the cables.

Strength:

clear sound, great price

Weakness:

size? only a bitch would complain about the size

For the cost of this center(300Cnd) you can't go wrong. It's crisp and tight sound is just under my bro's Nuance(700Cnd). Great to start or upgrade a system with.

Strength:

Best sounding speakers I have ever heard for the first 5 minutes.

Weakness:

Flamability

I forgot to add this....I tried hooking it up "direct" for purer sound quality. So instead of hooking it up to my receiver, I plugged it directly into the wall outlet. Was this a bad thing to do? I wonder if the insurance company will cover this.

Strength:

Best sounding speakers I have ever heard for the first 5 minutes.

Weakness:

Flamability

These speakers sounded great like all of the others have said. Mine were something not to be desired though. I had them on fairly low for about 5 minutes until I decided to see what they were really made of. I cranked them up half way and they immediatly caught fire, like really on fire. They burnt up the side of my entertainment cabnet, my cat was killed in the explosion and I had 3rd degree burns all down the side of my leg. I was in the hospital for 2 days, and my house suffered $3000 in damages besides the cost of my speakers and emotional loss from my scorched cat, Scruffy. Needless to say the speakers were sent right back.
