Strength:

A rockin', massive speaker that doesn't play around. Clarity and definition are excellent while not harsh.

Weakness:

None at all.

This speaker really filled out my system. I had been running an old Yamaha Pro-Logic receiver (w/o a center channel) and just upgraded to DD/DTS. It changed my life forever. I never go to the movies anymore because they won't give me the remote control. This speaker belts out the dialogue like nobody's business but does not offend. Cheers to Paradigm, yet again. I have this baby on a bridged Parasound HCA-750A power amplifier--it is a beautiful match.

My System:

--Yamaha RX-V995a Receiver
--Paradigm 9SEmkIII mains
--Paradigm PW2200 sub
--Paradigm CC350 center
--Paradigm Atom rears
--In Focus Lite Pro 580 LCD Video Projector
--DVDO line doubler
--Sony DVP-S530D DVD Player
--Sony CDP-XA20ES CD Player
--Parasound HCA-1000A Amplification on all channels
(excepting bridged HCA-750A on Center Channel)
--Audioquest cables all around

Strength:

build quality/clarity ~ full range/price-value

Weakness:

had a slight tv distortation. fixed with replacement.

Not much to say that hasn't been said. What you want is full range with clarity, and nothing out there can beat the CC-350 for it's price/performance. Can't beat for $200 U.S.

Well, I just rented U-571 and it is dts. I have the Sony da 777es receiver and the paradigm monitor 3 bookshelfs. I have the Paradigm 10 inch woofer. I have jbl rear speakers. Here is the best part, While listening to U571 with the dynamic range off and the volume about to 3 not even really, within the first 5 minutes of the movie the rears were popping and smoking literally really. SO we turned everything down and they were fine, but the room smelled like a.. . We thought the receiver was on fire, but it wasn't, i thought maybe an appliance in another room had caught on fire but it was the rears. Keep in mind these rears are from montgomery wards about 8 years ago. So, we get everything straightened out and start listening again because the rears are FINE. When we went back to the movie we realized F....NG A! that the center tweeter was blown or fried or something. So I am wondering what caused this and has it happened to anyone else please let me know. I like the paradigm stuff but if it can not be fixed or it happened because of poor build it is all going back monday morning. SO please let me know if this happened to anyone else. This really happened. Worst part 3.75 on a rented movie we couldn't watch. F...in A!

I've had my cc-350 for about a month.(bought for myself for Xmas. Why I waited so long I still don't know!matched to monitor9's It's incredible. And believe me when I say I've thrown everything you could imagine at it! This baby begs you to crank it up.If you are using a less expensive center because you cant see spending 300 on a center,I understand. That was me.But the difference it's made in my HT set-up is beyond words(my wife's words are"do you have to have that thing up so loud all the time")

Strength:

Clean, Full quality Sound

Weakness:

none

I have had the CC-350 for about 2 weeks now. While deciding on what to get putting my HT system together, this was one of the easiest choices I had to make... a no brainer! Vocals are clean and clear with dynamics. The only concern I had was its size, my room is not that large(12x15) but my TV(jvc37")I thought was large enough. I did take a listen to the cc-170 because of its smaller size but thought there was enough difference in the sound for the money. I am totally satisfied! Looks and sounds great on my TV... smaller than I thought it would look.

Strength:

Can handle whatever you dare throw at it!!!

Weakness:

A little harsh on higher notes(not very often!!)

I am in love with my 350..... I have always put the least amount of influence on my center channel when shopping stereos...until now....

The difference that this speaker makes is simply amazing, it is like having 2 extra mini-minitors laying on your tv set....reproduces sound effects and voicing without a hitch.

You know what else I love...THIS THING LOOKS MEAN!!!! It weighs a ton and is quite overwhelming in size(for a center), it just screams..."I WANNA ROAR!!!"...Give this beast a go if you want a real center channel.

Strength:

Clear Dialogue, Has some bass but the Voices don't sound overly chest and boomy. Incredible Value

Weakness:

None

This is an increduble center channel. Before this I had a CC150 that was ok for the price but dialogue sounded artificial. The CC-350 is very well matched to the Paradigm Mini-Monitor. Now that I have a dolby digital system I can fully appreciate the value of the speaker. The B&W CC6 is the only speaker that comes close in price and performance. However The CC6 costs more and it is a little muddy. Some might like this effect or confuse it for warth/bass if they don't have a subwoofer. Howver I prefer the clean uncolored sound that comes out of the CC-350. The CC350 also has a lot of bass - more than sufficient for onscreen explosions when paired with a sub. The only Center channel that I have heard which is better than the CC-350 is the B&W 800 Series Center Channel. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Strength:

Amazing clarity

Weakness:

Fairly large

I am currently using the Paradigm Pick.
*Monitor 7s - $600 (bi-wired)
*Mini Monitors - $330 (rears)
*CC350 Center - $330
*S1000 Sub - $600

The Center channel is a dominant part of the surround sound experience, the CC350 brings the voices to life. Amazing clarity, and a full sound. I've never had problems with the tweeter.

Matched with Harmon Kardon's AVR20II Dolby Prologic - $500
This is an awesome combo that provides dynamic clarity with precise thump for under $2,500. I bought this combo back in 1998, so I'm sure it could be duplicated for much less today.

Keep in mind, if you're the type of person who likes to critique classical music, don't expect miracles from under $3000 in equipment

Strength:

Great sound for the money

Weakness:

Tweeter

I had used the CC-350 for a couple years without a problem until a couple months ago. I have a Yamaha RX-V995 receiver with its center channel pre-out coupled to a Marantz MA-700 amp (rated at 200 watts) for the CC-350. The MA-700 gain controls was set at about 60% which is 20% below THX level. At that setting the volume is the same as with the speaker connected directly to the receiver.

While playing The Matrix lobby scene at an obscene volume the tweeter failed in the CC-350. I later found the receiver dynamic range was set on max. which is probably why it failed (I don't know how the DR was set that way - can I blame the kids?).

This one was my fault I guess - just too much power at max. DR. The dealer did replaced the tweeter, but this is a known problem for Paradigm speakers with the titanium tweeter. I have Monitor 9 fronts and have had tweeters replaced three times. At first the Paradigm tech said my receiver output wasn't clean enough. So I bought the Marantz amps, but still had the problem. They finally put a 'tweeter protector device' inside the speakers, which kind of acts like a circuit breaker. If you drive the speaker too hard the tweeter drops out & then comes back on after you reduce volume.

Anyway, I believe Paradigm may have changed the design of the tweeters in the newer CC-370 & Monitor 9 v2.

I like these speakers very much in spite of the problems I have had. They are a great value.

I went to a local dealer to hear the Paradigm Titans and moved on to the Mini-Monitors after not being all that impressed with the Titans (after hearing the Energy XL-16 at another dealer). The Mini Monitors were great and I'll probably buy them. But I was blown away by the center channel--the CC-350. When I started looking at speakers, I couldn't understand how center channel speakers could be so expensive (I haven't shopped for any home audio for over 10 years until last month when I bought a Yamaha receiver). Now I see the light. You get what you pay for. For a little over $300, the CC-350 is a better value than cheaper speakers. It's huge (25 lbs.) and uses every bit of its bulk. If there is a better center speaker, I'm sure it costs a rediculous amount. VERY NICE!
