Strength:

Incredible sound for a low price!

Weakness:

None so far at my house.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have these speakers in my home since February 1999. None of the speakers have ever blown a speaker at all, and believe me they see SERIOUS ACTION!!! After break in, these baby's just sounded better and better.IMHO they sound better than the B&W 601 series speakers I was considering and cost no where near the price! I'm looking to upgrade these with the Studio series, place these in my living room and the Studios go in the Family room. You will not be unhappy. I do not have them biamped or biwired and they still sound great! My HT setup is as follows: Sony DVPS-7700 DVD player, Sony KV32V65 T.V.,Yamaha RXV-995 reciever,JVC 3500u S-VHS vcr, Sony SAT-A55 Dolby DSS.

I wrote a review several months ago about this product and gave it very high praise. It's rather disheartening to hear that several of these center speakers have blown their tweeters.

I've used this speaker on 2 different Marantz receivers, and never noticed a problem. The latest receiver I had used it with was the SR 7000. On full power, the speakers ability never backed down. I wonder if the type of Amp coupled with these speakers can have a bad effect?

One reviewer stated he was using the speaker with the Onkyo 787 receiver. I was able to demo this receiver in a store with the same set of Paradigms I have, and was really impressed. However, I'm currently purchasing the Onkyo Integra DTR 7.1. It's the same receiver, but with high-end parts. Several hundred dollars more, but I feel it will be worth it. There were several quality control issues with the Onkyo 777 last year. Most notably a hiss sound that came out of the "center channel". So it's possible that, with the 787, there might be some hold-over center channel issues. Perhaps the receiver is losing control at high volumes and "spiking" the center speaker? Perhaps you have a "b" stock 787? I know that there's steep Onkyo discounts to be had on the net, because of their free and easy policies with reselling B stock.

I noticed that both negative reviewers of this speaker were using "Bright" sounding receivers... a possibly low end Yamaha and Onkyo's stanard line 787. I do agree 100% with both reviewers that neither amp should blow the speaker, at lest that's what I would think. Although I am a big fan of "bright" sound, the 2 marantz's I owned in the past had a "warm"sound, and so were less on the trebble and heavyer on the base frequencies. Perhaps this is why I never had a speaker problem?

I ended up selling my Marantz 7000 because, even though the sound was smooth, it just sounded too heavy for my liking. My choice was to match my Paradigms was either the high-end Yamaha 3000 or Onkyo's High-end DTR line (www.integrahometheater.com). I feel that the pairing of a good quality amp with good quality speakers will result in the perfection I seek with little sound spiking or coloration.

A good friend of mine has owned a full compliment of Paradigm speakers for years. He used to have it hooked up to a pro logic high-end Onkyo, and then switched to a high-end Yam just last year. With the Yam we have watched X-Men and Gladiator DTS at deafening volumes. Never did the Amp or his speakers ever back down. Never has he reported one problem.

As a Canadian Paradigm speaker owner, I do feel I am luckier than my US cousins. The Paradigm plant is no more than half an hour from where I live. This means little tweeter or woofer damage can happen in transport to the stores I've bought from in the past. And, if anything does happen, I can take the item right into their local service office.

So to sum up... I think that the combination of damage due to shipping, along with POSSIBLE B-stock or low-end receivers that spike the center channel, can damage the speakers. Read the reviews of other Paradigm Monitor speakers. They have the same woofer and tweeter, and yet do not blow (figuratively or litterally).

This is just my opinion and I resect the negative and positive views of others. In the end, I hope your speaker choice has satisfied you as much as it has me, wether Paradigm or not.

Simply put I love the speaker when its functioning. I have owned it three months and have blown three tweeters. It is driven by an Onkyo DS-TX787. The place where I got it said I am playing it too loud. Then why the hell do you spend all sorts of money for, if you can't play it loud? Anyway I'm gonna junk it, and try a Polk cs400i.

Crisp clear sound stage. Outstanding vocals.

What can I say but AWSOME. These speakers perform beautifully. Very clear and bold. I listen 60/40 HT/Music and the imaging of these with my Studio Monitor fronts is outstanding. These babies blow the Polks and Bostons out of the water (no disrespect). I have a Yamaha RXV596 receiver , for home use it is more than enough db's. In my opinion Paradigm's are one of the best value per dollar spent. Room layout and receiver power are important but you cant go wrong with the CC350.

Consider the Paradigm LCR-350 instead. It has the same woofers and tweeter but slightly different cabinet design. LCR has a deeper cabinet. I think most people buy the CC-350 cause of aesthetics and it looks better with the fabric on the sides. LCR is also cheaper. Go to www.Paradigm.ca to compare the differences. But the true test is in which speaker you feel sounds the best. For me it was the LCR-350.

Strength:

Efficient, clear sounding

Weakness:

Kind of bulky, a little thing sounding compared to Studio 20s.

I needed a center channel speaker for my HT, but couldn't afford the Studio CC, so I opted for this model.
The CC-350 works great sitting on top of my 32" WEGA TV.
It brings out the depth in movies and adds focus to what's going on onscreen.
I had to break it in for a few days because it was a bit bright at first. I'm using Studio 20s as my R/L speakers and they integrate well with the CC350, although they are a bit fuller sounding and seem to be more detailed than the CC350. I've eq'd the center channel to compensate for the tone. Eventually, I'll upgrade to the Studio CC, but for now this works fine.

Strength:

Strong and accurate

Weakness:

I would say for the money this speaker rocks, but I'm going to say for lots and lots more money it still would be worth every penny.

This Center channel is very accurate as far as dialog is concern. For on screen action it just can’t be compared to many center channels twice the price. My advice is, find a Paradigm dealer and have a listen for yourself. This speaker rocks...

Strength:

Built solid, Binding posts took 12 gauge wire on 1st try.

Weakness:

none found yet!

A more complete review will follow after I've broken it in. So far the clarity &definition are amazing. I've seen centers that looked like plastic blocks & sounded terrible, I'm proud to have this center working for me.
It's a good size speaker...not for the timid HT system.
