Strength:

Delivers the sound goods, Price is resonable for someone not willing to pay a fortune for a decent home theater system.

Weakness:

Fairly heavy but what the heck !I do like the extestion bar on the back of the speaker that helps distibute the weight.

Hi, I recently purchased the csi 5 center from Acoustic design. The speaker came in a Polk Audio box with all the packaging and stirofoam you could need.... This was great as my last attempt at purchasing this speaker from a private party off ebay turned out to be a disaster !!My monster Rti 12's blend with this center like two long lost friends. The speaker was purchased and shipped from Vegas and since i have contributed to there economy many times before, why stop?On the way shortly will be the fxi5 rears !This system never lets me down ,Music dvds or cds or my favorite radio channel.Good luck to you ,Cindy

Strength:

Crystal clarity, blends well w/other speakers, kick stand along with the unusual shape of Polk's center speakers allows you to angle the speaker very easily (mine sits on top of my entertainment center so I angled slightly down)

Weakness:

Large size

I just purchased a CSi5 center for my system and WOW what a difference it makes. I use my set up more for movies than music, and the center channel is vital for voices and subtleties that I was missing before. Paid about $280 at www.acousticsounddesign.com and for the money this is a great speaker. The large size could be a problem, but it's worth it if you have space.

This center channel speaker is huge physically. The quality of the finish and sound matches my main speakers which consists of Polk rti100. This speaker sounds great when powered with HK7300. The sound is awksome and wonderful. The sound is clear and blends well together. I have played jazz and classical music and amazed by how well the music sounded.

Strength:

power, clearness, bi-wiring, dual 6-1/2" woofers

Weakness:

Size could be an issue for some

recently picked up this center channel speaker to use with a 12'x22' dedicated home theater room that we are putting in our basement. For movies the center channel is perhaps your most important speaker and based on the first few days with the Csi5, it certainly will do the job. It is so much more powerful and better with voices than the Yamaha I have had in our living room the last few years. Really no comparison. It's big but like I said the center is not something to skimp on and this baby sounds like it should please just about anyone. Also like the bi-wiring and ability to turn it upside down if you need to place it low and have it shoot the sound upward. Got a good deal ($279) with it through acousticsounddesign.com and at that price it was well worth it.

Strength:

Clear Dailog, extended highs, smooth response.

Weakness:

It's Big! This on very deep center channel speaker, luckily it comes with a built in kickstand for TV's with a shallow top.

I purchased the Polk Audio CSi5 along with other matching speakers from Polk for my livingroom system. I've owned many center channel speakers from Infinity to B&W and this center channel from Polk has the clearest dialog I have heard. It's a great center and you can get a great deal from www.acousticsounddesign.com.

Strength:

Full Sound from this center channel speaker.

Weakness:

Size of speaker, however, this isn't a real problem for me because this sits atop my 70" Sony. But in other scenarios, this speaker is BIG.

I purchased the Polk Audio CSI-5 center channel speakers from acousticsounddesign.com. This speaker kicks butt. Because of this speaker, I now hear sound that wasn't audible with my Boston Acoustics. I would definately buy from acousticsounddesign.com again.

Strength:

It has the ability to handle lots of power and never falter. Rich sound and a nice look.

Weakness:

SIZE. It is HUGE, nearly 24" accross and about as deep. Be ready for the size, other then that nothing.

I found this speaker maked down from $399 to $299 open box and could not pass on it. I have had a fair amount of "other" center speakers for home theater but never one that right from the initial plug-in gave so much back. Movies: In Dolby Digital the voice of each character is so accurate, the size of the speakers really gives a solid mid-bass to bass sound something many smaller units never did. TV: Much more ability to play loudly but a bit muddled, most likely from the low quality source. Music: I do enjoy the Onkyo "All Channel Stereo" setting as it lets music play in equal portions from all speakers. This speaker truly opens up at high volumes with NO fatiuge that I noticed, a real easy listen. If I had a couple thousand extra my music would be from more "high-end" speakers and amps with a better transport/DAC but alas money does not allow.

Strength:

Clear highs from the 1 inch Dynamic Balanced tweeter. Produces some sweet lows and mids compared to my B&W.

Weakness:

So damn big.

Wow, what a differance. I replaced it with my B&W LCR60 S3. The moment I sliped those banana plugs in and turned it on, I heard the differance in clarity right off the bat. I used to have the whole B&W set but I could not get over how muffled the sound was in these expencive speakers. I am slowly get rid of the B&w's and going with polk. Only one problem with this speaker, it's so damn huge. It's two feet long and about a one foot deep. Otherwise, speaker is clear with great highs. My hats off to you Polk Audio. Great speaker
