Big rip off!!!

Can't believe I found this site -- thought I got the deal of the century. The white van pulls up and these guys were good -- telling me how they have to get rid of it and even showing price tags of $3600 for the "Xtreme F/X" home theater system. Can't believe how many of us have fallen for this??!!! I brought it home and checked it out, but don't even want to think about hooking it up at this point. ANY INPUT FROM ANYONE OUT THERE WHO PURCHASED THIS HOME THEATER SYSTEM??? It would be nice if it's at least 1/2 way decent & worth the $500 (what are the chances). Anyway, I told the guy "Mark" that I may have a friend who wants one too and, guess what -- he actually gave me his real name and phone number (called to verify). Probably thought he'd get a second sucker. Well, I'll write back in a week to let you know if (WHEN), I get my money back!!

It was just like any other day, I was on my way to the Best Buy on the corner of High Point Ave and Sellout Drive in Baltimore to purchase a brand new HDTV. As luck would have it, I was aproached by a shiny NEW van in the parking lot.I see that you all know the deal, so I wont bore you with details, but like most of you I was very skeptical of the deal. Then suddenly, almost out of nowhere I had an EPIPHANY! Unfortunately for me these two SMOKERS( newport I think?) wanted more cash then I had on me. Sadly,I thought I could only come up with $300(including the $100 mad money I keep stashed in the inside flap of my wallet!)I felt like I was going to LOSE MY OPPROTUNITY if I did not come up with another $500 bucks!What was I to do? Then one of the gentleman had a great idea! I could get money off of my credit card! Pure Brillance! So, I proceeded to do just that. I came up with the $800 that they asked for, but somehow I still felt like I was ripping them off...so, just to sweeten the deal I threw in a bunch of my cd's I had in my Durango(RT, FLAME RED, 5.9 LITER V-8..SWEET HUH?), a pair of oakley sunglasses I just bought at the mall and hell, I even scraped up another $20 so they could buy some beer and party after work!I feel that both parties made out like bandits! It was the best deal of my life!!!

Not hooked up!

I just got this scam today. These guys were in a silver tahoe and rolled up next to me. They asked if i wanted to buy some speakers. I stopped and checked out what they had. I ended up getting them for 160.00 and a pair of old oakleys. I wish I saw this site sooner. Good Luck.

My friend got taken, the whole back-of-the-white-van-scam, these speakers suck. They are completely tinny, no bass, little mid. Don't be fooled by the bi-wirable back inputs, they sound like crap. DO NOT BUY, buy Wharfedale's, B&W's, piece of crap Optimus'(Radio Shack), anything but these.

I was also approched by a white van stating they had an overage and there boss wold just keep them if they went back to their job.. I almost NEVER do something like this but since I had 5 year old Advent speakers for my home which I found out were Stereo Spekers not Home Theater speakers.. I really wasnt in the market to buy but after talking for a half an hour I decided to buy.. I was just hoping they worked.. To my surprise they worked much better then the speakers I had before.. My Advents would overwhelm my center channel and make it very hard to hear people talking in action scenes.. With these I was able to lower my center channel output and everything sounds clear.. Since my reciever only puts out 100 Watts per channel I believe they can handle it.. My advents couldnt handle the bass and after the first 3 months I had to get them repaired.. It sounds crisp but the tweeter is a little tinny.. Since I have a Sony reciever I can add a low boost which makes them sound a lot better.. For the value there not bad.. $150 a speaker is rather cheap this day in age.. People these are not top of the line speakers and unless you are building a $25,000 system they sound great..

Bought the Accoustic Image F/X from a white van. Weight 55 pounds. They said it was worth $2,000. I think I got more than what I paid for. They were trying to sell me the #1,169.00 pr. But I saw something I wanted. Fancy remote and the entire set is knocked off in Malaysia. Powerful powered sub-woofer. Two surround, left and right. Center and woofer. Neat, comes on with TV. Goes off five minutes after no input. Remote is lightweight and sophisticated. What do you think Sony is wholesale that retails for $1,200.00? Try $120.00.

Picked mine up through a friend. Outstanding value and sound for these speakers. I was skeptical at first but pop in a DVD movie like Blade or The Matrix and WOW! The sound was unbelievable. I may not have the best ears for an audiophile but I know when speakers sound great.

looking if neone wants to sell there 600SL Acoustic image tower speakers. Im gonna use the parts and the cabinets for a house wide system. As is the speakers are but with a lil tweaking they arnt bad... im not promosing a whole lot of money for them as the are BS but if ur not using them i will take them off ur hands for you.
