I got ripped off. I got the plate # too. It made me feel safe. Now I feel stupid! Go with your gut instinct and ignore them! Punch one in the face for me if you get close enough to one of the slim-buckets! Can't use what they give you!

SCAM!!!!!

I am so angry!! My husband was scammed by these no good animals for $250 bucks. They approached him in a white van with the same story, and when he brought them home they came with no instructions or cables. So, I began research on electronic sites and found nothing on it. Then I found this site. I can't help but get mad!! $250 bucks for speakers that don't even bring the cables or tell you what cables to buy to hook them up!! UGH!!!! I wish these damn scammers would get caught!! They are selling garbage to vulnerable people trying to purchase a good thing!!

Well ... and I thought I was a pretty savvy guy. All the time I'm thinking, "Hey, I'm buying speakers from the Dell dude. Nobody this stupid could be a scam artist." Looks like I'm the stupid one. Having said that, I haven't actually plugged them in, maybe they're okay. Purpose of this post: they're now operating in the Northern Virginia area ... on the move! Same approach, parking lot, white van. The line was "hey we got an extra set in the back, a mistake. If I take them to the boss, he'll just keep them, so we're gonna sell them. How much can you pay?" I won't tell you how much I paid ... that's part of the stupidity thing. But I will tell you that the scammers have apparently expanded their line. In addition to two 600SL tower speakers, I got an Epiphany Solo DVD Receiver with subwoofer! A deal! Never heard of it. Can't find it anywhere on the 'Net. Haven't tried the receiver either. Any chance the things work, or should I just take the whole lot to the Thrift Shop and take the tax write-off?

I have delicate sensibilities

Not really a review but more looking for some information. I'm a dufus. . . what ewxactly are the four connections in back of the speakers for? 2 for speaker wires. . .what are the other two for? Are they connections for "each" of the internal speakers? I tried hooking all four wires to my "A" speaker connections (two speaker connections for my "A" set). And got nothing. . .If i just hook up two wires, the sound comes through. Anyone have some helpful advice? Thanks

Ditto, It happened pretty much the same way to me. Im seventeen driving my moms jazzy car doing some errands for school and I go to get gas(2$ worth). As I return to the car a girls head sticking outside a white van window yells to me "Hey Boss". It probably looked like I was some well off suburbian teenager with money to spare. I waited and met her, she says, "We(her about 20yrs and her coworker 18male)were making deliveries to different companies and we got some nice Acoustic hardware in here thats free and left over, and we dont know what to do with it. If we dont get rid of it then were going to have to take it back to our base, and that would be a waste." So I ask, "Is it free, or are you selling it?" Well she says,"Theres stuff in here worth thousands of dollars and I wish I could sell it on Ebay, but I gotta get rid of it tonight; Anyway I live in Georgia. Do you think you could get any money? Cause I gotta get rid of it tonight?" This had never happened to me before and I sincerely believed her, and I still dont disbelieve her. She was kind and a good saleswoman. I wanted to help her and get a great deal in return. All I had was 30$ which I was going to use to buy my village sticker for my car and I told her that. She says, "Do you have money anywhere else?" Fortunately I lived across the street and had 220$ left from a month of SS$. I told her I had 200$ at my house. So I drove her across the street (she asked me to drive her. strange huh? Probably didn't want me to speed away. "chuckle chuckle chuckle") with her buddy in the van following. I go get my doh and come back down and give her 230$ for a 5piece surround sound system which she claims was 978$ and she gave me a receipt with it saying that with the customer order# on it. In the box was the set and also a warranty sheet, pretty nice. I take my hat off to her, if I had one;Bravo. After the exchange they took off hunting for another willing customer and I eyed their license plate just in case something fishy was going on, I would have something to follow up on. Well I came in and wanted to find out the actual price on the internet, and couldn't find anything about "acoustic Image sunami home entertainment surround sound", except for this page. I strollin on out of a Home Depot a few days ago when I was approached by what I been readin here. Same old song and dance, couple of cats in a white van, they were pretty funny guys. Really enthusiastic about their future trip to the titty bar. I ended up paying $450 for these mini towers. I felt a little sketchy after it all went down and I was driving home. I figured I would look for info on them on the net and came across this. Felt a little weird I guess but i kinda laughed. Then I just hooked them up and they sound great.

Well this is interesting I knew those guys knew what they were doing but I listened to my greed. Anyways I do not have a whole lot of complaints, I brought them to my boyfriend's house as soon as I got them he told me to run a search on them and it took me to this. In the meantime as I read a bunch of the reviews, my boyfriend hooked them up. He has a nice stereo and I bought them for him. I came out and told him they had very bad reviews on the internet and some good ones too. He said they sound fine, so we guess we got a good deal. One of joe's (my boyfriend) friends said he bought acoustic reference speakers from some guys about 8 years ago and they still work ok. He does not know if these are part of the same brand or not. but we will see. The guys selling them were very cleancut and polite. They should look into sales unless they do well selling speakers. I remember the one guys name was Jim he was tall and said he was a good Irish kid. He gave me his cellphone # we called him and he asked if we were happy with the speakers. I said no to see what he would say and he said he would buy them back if I wanted. But my boyfriend said we should just keep them they work good with his stereo.
