Strength:

sound great with my dvd player

Weakness:

none really

I met these guys at 7-eleven I was getting a slurpy when they approached me. They were cute so I listened to what they had to say. I had recently got my Tax return back and had some extra money I gave them $450. They were actually really cool guys. I exchanged numbers with one of them and we saw each other a couple of times. I guess I was just "a piece of ass " because he would'nt return my phone calls after that. Any way I've listened to the speakers for over a year now and they sound great. As for their tactics, what ever works I guess. I don't concider myself scamed, they work, they sound great and have lasted me longer than my last pair.

Strength:

Uhhhhhhh?

Weakness:

Cost. Bass. Treble. Midrange.

I actually borrowed these from a friend who paid 300.00 bucks for them. For starters that was too much. I would not pay more than 125.00 for these and here's why. First, the bass is not there. For a speaker with two 6" woofers, there should be alot more bass. ( something along the lines of Polk's rt-55) Second, the midrange. I a&b these with my Polk r15's and the Acoustic Image's midrange sounded thin and lacking detail in comparison to the polk's. Finall the tweeter. This was the worst part of the speaker. Very high pitched tones sound like static. And there is simply too much treble all togather. I set my receiver to it's 6 ohm setting, but that did not help much. I then bi-amped these but still no luck. The center image was also not very focused.

Strength:

GOod quality for price range.

Weakness:

A little week in the bass range.

I had a similar experience with the white van while on business in Baltimore. I was actually going into a Best Buy to look at some speakers when the van pulled up. Same story as before. At first I thought they were trying to unload "hot" stuff. I paid 200 for the speakers after visiting a local ATM machine. After paying the guys, I went back to my hotel and immediately went to the internet to see what kind of deal I got on the $1100 speakers. I was sick when I saw the fraud allert. I had to wait two days before I went home and hooked up the speakers. I am quite impressed. I have an old Onkyo receiver and the speakers sound pretty good. They sound quite good compared to my B&W 110's that I have had for 15 years. A little weak in the bass area but clean, crisp sound. I think they are worth the $200 that I spent. I have listened to other speakers of similar price range including bose, JBL, kenwood and they definately are in the same class.

Just bought 'em Friday. Don't have them hooked up yet. But like everyone else, researched AFTER I bought them. Sounds to me that if I hook them up correctly with the right amp, they should be fine. My only mistake was negotiation. After almost walking away, we agreed to 600 for package (cubes, 2 towers, and sub). Only had 200 on me, so we all went to the bank. Only ATM available due to lateness in day. Forgot I could only withdraw 200 per day, so best I could come up with was 400. Thought I could get them all for that, but ended up trading back the cubes for the difference. Seeing the variety everybody paid makes me feel pretty stupid. Wouldn't mind working on these guys for the cubes back. My "salesman" was Efrain (from Chicago area). I'll post again after I get them properly set up.

These speakers are absolute junk. Anyone writing in saying they are bose dealers or whatever and then say these are great speakers are obviously selling us something. A friend of mine bought them from the white van folks. And I will admit, they do look nice, BUT. Cheap speakers, cheap wiring, cheap crossovers etc. worth maybe $50

i got the sunami home theater system, which is basically a set of speakers. this is all absolutely hilarious. i can't believe this. i got the home theater surround system, but all it has is the 5 speakers. do i need a home theater reciever exactly or can i just use my regular pioneer reciever i have my VCR, and CD players hooked into? they told me i could. i can't wait to hook this up and see how it works. it really was a funny song and dance, and they did mention something about beer money. then the lead guy asked me for a CD! i was like, what is going on? some people gave their couch?!? thats the funniest thing i've heard in weeks. oh man... one more question, what about the warranties included with these? i got a warranty to send in, right in the box! is this bogus or real?? also, any advice on the reciever issue would be helpful. thanks...

i have been in the music recording industry for 25 years. i have used all of the top end speakers and have a great deal of experience with hifi audio, mixing boards, and amplification systems. i saw these idiots in a home depot parking lot and talked them down to 20 bucks, no biggie. i went home to hook them up, and i swear that they sound almost as good as the pocket speakers that came with my discman. these speakers are cheap, tinny, horrible sounding units. the cone is not titanium folks, it is paper. the wood is not wood, i'd say its balsa wood. these people are scam artists to end all scam artists and to the idiots that sold me the speakers, you better hope that i don't see your white van again...the second you get out of your car i am going to hit you with a baseball bat to your face, so you like to scam? you've messed with the wrong guy. i'm not afraid of you.
