Not much to add to what everyone else has written. Built quality could be better (knobs), sound is great (especially for movies). The house shakes (the kids love it, my wife not so much), and the bass is clear. There is a popping noise when it turns on or off, but it has not been a problem as long as there is a signal present. If you're looking for a subwoofer for less than $500, this is it. |

Purchased this subwoofer at a local hifi dealer recently for $400. I have seen little on the internet concerning this product but after trying the AR s12ho and the klipsch ksw150 I tried this one (it sounded pretty good in the store). I can tell you after getting it home and hooking it up it was in a whole class better than the other 2 subs. It has a 15" driver connected to a bob carver/ sunfire 500 watt amplifier. It filled my Ht which is pretty large 20x15 ft. room easily with very powerful, feelable sound. Music sounds great on it and it is pretty accurate as well. Movies sound very good on it as well. The rest of my HT is all Klipsch speakers(CF1, KV2, KG.5's) and yamaha reciever, pioneer dvd, sony tv. Overall I feel there are better subs out there, but none that I have heard for less than $900 or more. Considering it blows away the klipsch150 (&200 which I heard in the store) and cost me $400 I give it 5 stars. If you live in S. FL and are interested where I got this sub email me. |

Strength:
carver amp,are ya kiddin.descent low pricing.
Weakness:
adjustment knobs are ok at best but use care.turn on thump, but tolerable. brutal subterranian lows, make sure to fasten everything in the room down tight, recommend concrete block house like mine!.lfe channel is great for ht,but sometimes i like to add a two into one splitter and connect to the left and right inputs for listening to music especially speed metal with the low end bass lines and massive double kick drumming, almost as good as sex which reminds me,gotta go. Similar Products Used: denon avr-75,denon decoder, panasonic dvd, klipsch cf-2,ksc-c1,ksb 3.1 speakers, leach two channel amplifier. |

after extensive research and after reading 14 testimonials on how great this subwoofer, i finally took the plunge andwas able to bag this baby at $250 shipped from ONSALE.COM. and am i glad i did it, this is truly a BARGAIN! at this price. And how about performance, it rocked the house, LITERALLY!i had an electric fan turned on in my living room and it started wobbling and making funny noises due to the air movement being caused by this powerful subwoofer! |

I bought this product cheap at onsale.com for $209. i agree with Tony that the reviews should be about the product and not the price. however, i don't agree with the fact that the sound is not clear. It is hard to adjust the sound to any room. But this can basically be said to many subwoofers that outputs to 20hz. it took me approximately 25 minutes to adjust it to my likings. i play it with movies and music (rock/pop/classical) and i love it. i felt the casing after the 2 consecutive DVD movies (5th element and True Lies) and it was not even hot. This is a great product and is highly recommended. the only thing that i don't like is that their isn't a protective grating for the woofer. |

Hooked it up, put in Chemical Borthers "Surrender" track two and tried to see what it could do. What it did was this: shook my room with bass, lots of bass. I left my room to go to the kitchen and could here a strange buzzing sound? I felt the walls of the place, they were shaking, and so was the fuse box which was making a racket as it vibrated! |

I recently purchased this 15" subwoofer and was in awe of the results. It is inexpensive compared to other active 15" subwoofers yet produces rich, deep wall shaking bass. It even rattled a filement loose causing a lightbulb downstairs to burn out! Highly recommended for listening to music or an excellent addition to a home theatre system. |

I just bought the Advent from ebay for $275. I cannot believe the depth this sub will put out. My windows were shaking with such power for such an inexpensive sub. I wholeheartedly recommend this sub to anyone who wants to reach the low frequency (20 Hz)and not spend a lot for it. The sub weighs 60 pounds. I system is complete with a Sony 32 XBR, 500D DVD, and 30 ES receiver. I felt like I had just won the lottery! |
