Strength:
Awesome Powered Subwoofer
Weakness:
The rest of the system I agree with Dennis. Other than the subwoofer Atlantic makes, I will never buy anything with the AT logo. The sound is LOUD no doubt, but totally trecherous to my ears. I would call them super bright with no bass extension. A definite no-no for audio enthusiast. I bought a set of Optimus LX-10 pro towers and matched them with the Atlantic subwoofer (which is a clear winner). |

Will the owners of this interesting looking set please come out of the closet and post some reviews please? I'm about to slap down an order for this set along with a Harmon Kardon's AVR75 and a Toshiba 2108 for $1900(shipped) from OneCall. Tell me that I can't go wrong.. |

I received the 250.1 system over a week ago. The rest of my set-up includes a Harmon Kardon AVR-75 Receiver, Toshiba 2108 DVD player and a Sony KV32XBR100 TV. |

To Ralph, I bought the complete sistem 250.1 around 8 month ago, for the price of $1200 , I can not be any happier with the excellent sound that these speakers give to my hometheater. You may get the system by mail order for around $1000 which I thing is a steal for the sound that you can get from these speakers, I just start getting into the hometheater fiver a year ago,not kowning much about audioequipment I bought a Sony A/V,Yamaha speakers at sears, ohh boy if I was wrong,Yamaha makes excellent receivers but their speakers are not that good,2 month after I went to a local retaler and listen a boston acustics speakers that were on sale for $2000. They were using a yamaha recever and the sound was spectacular. Then I though $2000 that is some money for me, So I did some rearch and I end at another audioretaler which had an Atlantic Technology System 250.1 for sale at $1200. Then I thougtht $1200,but I never hear about these brand of speakers. So I ask if I can listen to the system which was driving by a Onkyo receiver. I tell you the sound of the System 250.1 was better than the boston acustics system costing $800 more. For the money the sound was superb. So I bought them the same day. The sub has even a bigger amp 150 watts and the base was tight and precise,It makes the windows of my house shake. The center speaker dialogue was clear, and the sorroud dipoles speakers give a spacious and realistic sorround effect. as for the main speakers they mach perfectly in tonal balance with the center speaker, and giving a good image between eachothers. These speakers are very smooth for move or music, they do not have the graine or bright caracter that other speaker have. When I connected to my sony A/V the sound was a lot better than before, even do my sony receiver is not that good. The next project is to get a better receiver perhap Yamaha,Onkyo or Pionner Elite. As for HK receiver I do not Know much about them but for what I understand they will sound better than any sony. To get more information on the system 250.1 check the review from Home Theater Magazine/Oct 96 by going to archives on their Web Side www.hometheatermag.com. |

I have 2/3's of the setup you are looking at Ralph. I purchased the AVR75 and 250.1 speaker setup from onecall.com just a few weeks ago. I'm still playing with the setup and configuration but overall I'm pleased with this package. |

I just received this speaker setup from onecall.com for $932 plus $90 shipping and handling. I was kind of skeptical about buying these since the only way that you can buy them is through mail order. But, I found alot of reviews for this setup and didn't find anything negative about them. I must say, for the size of the speakers, they kick pretty good. I don't have the sub-woofer yet since it was on back order, but playing the others through my Technics SA-AX6 receiver, movies sound great even without the sub! So, imagine what it will sound like with the sub! I have compared other brands such as Polks RM7300 series and a Technics THX speakers system which both sold for $999. The Technics sounded very good and the Polks did too, but the main reason I didn't go with either one is;1. the Technics are very bulky. This package comes with 2 subwoofers ((2) 8" woofers with (2) 10" passive radiators and 120 watt amps in each), left and right, center, and 2 di-pole surrounds. Like I said, sound good but to bulky for my application. |

I bought this system from One Call about 3 weeks ago. They had just received more after being out for a short time. I love this system and have it set up with a HK AVR75, RCA DS5451 Satelite system, an older 35" Toshiba TV and a Kenwood DP-R4430 Cd player. I listened to many other speakers. Started with the Bose, (my wife wanted something unobtrusive), not enough life and too pricy. Then listened to Klipsch, Polk, Boston, and NHT. I liked Boston and NHT too, but when all was said and done it was between the NHT and the Atlantic's. I couldn't justify the difference in price, with tweeking my ears can't tell much difference, the NHT's are sweet for sure, but hundred's more for the system ruled them out. These speakers are smooth and tight and the 10" powered sub shakes my large room (my setup is at one end of a combination kitchen, dining room, family room area 15 x 45), very well! I also love the HK receiver. Yes the manual is weak on information, but with a little fiddling I've become comfortable with the setup and the remote which allows you to adjust speaker levels individually for each component used, i.e. CD, Vid 1, Vid 2, etc., great especially for the sub output difference I like for movies compared to CD's. Overall I am very pleased with my speakers and system. The speakers look good, (pleased my wife) and sound great! I give them four stars for performance, five if price is considered. |

Average to poor sound for home theatre. Musical reproduction is absolutely horrible. Bought from Sound City and they were nice enough to trade out the 2 main speakers for NHT Super Ones for a small additional cost. Bought a NHT Super Center to match. The difference is amazing. Go with the NHTs and don't make my mistake. |

I got the AT 250.1 speaker system from www.onecall.com for $932 plus shipping on a closeout. I assume they are all gone by now. I have not compared other speakers, but I can say that these give a wonderful experience. I'm only giving four stars out of five, because I assume that there may be something better out there, although I have not personally heard anything. I suspect that anything better would also be significantly pricier. FYI, I drive these with Sony DVP-S7700, SONY STR-DA50ES, and DH Labs speaker cable. I will soon be taking early retirement and I am confident of being a happy camper for a long time, audio-wise. |
