Strength:
Heavy sound and clarity
Weakness:
Heavy weight Listen! I bought these speakers on the streets out of a yellow van. These guys brought ém up to my flat, because they are very heavy. And they hooked ém up also. They sound perfect to me. Other speakers in this category (money!) have the same sound like MAGNAT, CANTON, QUADRAL. I`m very happy and hope I can get the next generation of AUDIOFILE-speakers |

They look pretty
Weakness:
DAMN HEAVY Where were these reviews yesterday? Well now i can't wait to see these guys on the street cause i am going to beat my 300$ out of them. I am not big on speakers, but i thought it was a good deal. they looked cool. AND THEY ARE VERY HEAVE, ESPECIALLY WHEN CARRIE DUP TO THE 3RD FLOOR OF MY APARTMENT. Then i had to dish out 120 bucks for a receiver. but when can i do? i guess i learned my lesson. They seem pretty good to me i guess, good bass. Having trouble hooking them up to my tv. I just hope these pos last at least a year. Well i am going to go throw up now (but they look good in my apartment). Similar Products Used: Toliet Paper |

Maybe a good deal for the price
Weakness:
Quality might be substandard These guyz pulled up and seyz, "Wanna buy a set of speakers?" I seyz, "What Brand?" They seyz, "Audiofile." I seyz, "I only buy Mirage." At this point, those two mopes starting laughing at me. I immediately went home and searched for a review of "Audiofile." To my satisfaction, these speakers suck. I get to hunt someone down and make hopefully ruin their lives now.
Weakness:
All bass....don't expect to get many hi's out of these. Oh...and you can only get them from a van or SUV in a parking lot. (First hint!) Got taken for a ride with these. The deal they throw you seems completely legit it's insane. They really have their stuff together: laminated advertisement sheets, invoices, business cards, everything. Make it seem like you're really not buying speakers in a parking lot, but you are. It's a complete scam done all over the country in the exact same way. Granted, speakers aren't free to make and they're not worth zero....but if you're like me and payed over 200 for a pair, you got f'ed over. The brand I got sold to me were Denmarks....but they're the exact same speaker, E830LR's and all. Unless you do want a pair of mediocre speakers for 200, go for it....but don't think you'll pay 300 and go and sell them for 600 like I did. I'm still looking for my dignity, if you come across it, let me know. Similar Products Used: Denmark, Audiofile, Dogg. They're all the same (E830LR), do the research and find out how big this scam really is. |

Strength:
good bass response, tweeters are nice, look great.
Weakness:
no low range capability (20-35Hz or so) wish they hadnt resorted to scamming to sell these. theyd sell themselves given the chance. k so im gullible. yeah same story as above, worth 1300 or whatever. bought two of em @$200 each. my first intention was to resell them, but after being offered $50 for BOTH of them at three different pawnshops, there was no way i was going to eat $350. so i reluctantly took them home and tried them out on my computer. now im glad i kept them. i rigged the audio out port from my computer to an older integrated amp (kenwood i think, not sure on the watts) and was blown away by the bass response. when playing the "Lord of the Rings" dvd, the Moria scene was quite impressive (if youve seen the movie you know what i mean). when i played music files through them, the bass was shaking pictures hung in the next room. not too shabby. true they would sound better if they had a wider range, mainly down near the 25-30Hz, but a sub can take care of that. tweeters are good too. when i listened to some floorstanding speakers at best buy, and compared prices, these speakers sounded better than some JBL, Cerwins, and Boses listed for 400 each. of course you can find them on ebay for like $100 each, but hindsight is 20/20. |

If you only paid $200-$300, a great bargain. Good sound, and actually look good too. Good sensitivity: just a few watts, and you get a lot of sound.pressure level
Weakness:
Woofer magnets could be bigger, (I actually disassembled these speakers for inspection. This is why they'll only handle 15-200 watts, (although that's damn loud!) People often get scammed into paying too much, (ie: more than &250-$300) I only paid $200 for them, and for that tiny price, you'd be hard-pressed to find better speakers. They are actually distributed by a company called SpeakerDirect througgh their website and sell there for $298 including shipping. I wouldn't pay more than that for them. There are people scamming by saying these sell for $1190, and that's ridiculous. They've simply attached an "AudioFile" brand sticker, (a mythical company which doesn't even exist, produced some fake brochures with the exaggerated price, and lied about the power handling and overall value. the speakers will handle 150-200 watts of power, but not 400 as the schemers tell you, (and as is shown in their brochure and their fake owners manual) If you paid under $300, you should be pretty satisfied. The speakers actually do sound nice. Decent bass, (not the deepest, tightest I've ever heard in my life, but pretty damn good), good overall tone, and the tweeter images well, nd isn't shrill or tinny like many "inexpensive" speakers. I own Cambridge Soundworks Ensemble II's, designed by Henry Kloss, a renowned speaker designer, and I've replaced my home theater speakers with the Audiofile 830LR's! I bought them out of a white van Same deal, I bought them from a white van at the supermarket parking lot. I fell for the story about them getting overstocked. They sound ok, fortunately I was able to make back more than half my money on them, unfortunately I haven't gotten my dignity back. |

Strength:
Sound comparable to more expensive speakers. Seem to handle more than 200 watts with ease. Might be just the thing for a beach gig or hurricane party. Could make a poor family a nice Christmas present.
Weakness:
Have no resale value. May not last very long. Probably have deficiencies not immediately apparent on first audition, such as equalization problems. That this was probably a scam crossed my mind several times, and I insisted on testing the speakers out before I bought them. I played my keyboard through them and cranked the volume way up. Oddly enough, they sounded alright compared to the JBL L-40s I had been using with a 120 watt/channel biamp stereo amp. They also produced much more range than any of the keyboard amps I had used. On that basis I bought them, thinking that maybe these guys did luck into some kind of factory overproduction or distribution oversight. Sorry to hear of their cheap construction and parts, but one wonders how much high-priced speakers really cost to manufacture Similar Products Used: None |
