Strength:
Great High and Mids
Weakness:
None at this price Wow.. These babies are a steal. I had them hooked up to my intergrated AVR before and ho-hum. They were okay. But you give them a decent signal and about 75 watts and these puppies sing. No way am I suggesting they will become your favorite main speaker, but as a rear surround. You cant go wrong. I had my adcom 535 II powering them and wow. Great Highs and Mids, low a little weak, but it only has a single 6" woofer ( Ported ). Long story short, I would have easy paid $200-300 a pair for these. |

Strength:
smooth highs
Weakness:
don''t handle power well, mids are weak Mine are the tower model. For the price...who can gripe? I bought these for rears or the bedroom, and they''re good for that. Mine aren''t even broken in yet, but they are passable. Not a ton of bass, but the voice coils are still stiff so maybe they''ll loosen up, mids are weak, highs are very "silky", but fairly accurate and pleasant. Perfect for surround use, rears, garage or bedroom. I''m driving them with an 80 wpc Marantz and that''s about all (or a little bit more) than they can handle. Quality is surprisingly good and finish is decent. Overall...a great bargin. Similar Products Used: Wharfedale Diamonds |

Strength:
look good -price of packaging is more than speaker cost. Are easy to listen to with no irritants very smooth at low and medium volumes.
Weakness:
see why they went out of business. So much for so little money. Just a steal from ubid Sound is clean and pleasing . Are not as effecient as Infinity speakers but are far higher build quality . Packaged very well so do not worry about shipping . Combined with the LSC37 center they are sweet deal. My friend thought they were more expensive than his BOSE package. Must buy them soon . U-bid told me they have less than 50 left. Similar Products Used: infinity reference 6 and 3s This is my 2nd home system. |

Mid range is "light" Again I got mine from uBid for the requisite $27 each (A STEAL)- set them up as rears to my dbx Soundfield V's with an Atlantic Techonologies Sub and a Mission 70C3 center- Similar Products Used: Boston Acoustic, Energy, Infinity |

Price, price, price and price.
Weakness:
Large cabinet for 2 way "bookshelf" speakers. I would like to echo the last review - if you are in the market for decent speakers at a ridiculous price, it would be a crime not to try a pair of these speakers from UBID. These are actually the LSB-628W (for wide, I assume). |

Value with audiophile tendecies
Weakness:
its large, but i think that attributes to the refined, yet assertive sound. I got these for a set of rear speakers. I use a denon avr3300 receiver, magnepan fronts, and an M&K subwoofer. I was very please with the aforementioned components, but was having a lot of trouble finding a nice match for rears. i auditioned half a dozen pairs and never quite happy until these. (These are the LSW628M's.) I am admittedly placing them in a bit of an unusual configuration, with the maggies being the dominant output and everything else supplmenting them. The other speakers i auditioned played that subservient role fine, but these auras do it with a bit of assertiveness that i find most pleasing. They would probably be a bit 'thin' for my tastes as fronts, but i am extremely happy with their current placement. Can't beat the price on uBid, the imaging is wonderful and warm
Weakness:
none at this price I am actually reviewing the LSW-828M's. They have an 8 inch woofer. I thought the bass response was crisp and powerful and not muddied until very high volume. The imaging on these speakers is better than the Polks I have and they sound very "warm". No fatigue at all. I am powering them with a Harman Kardon AVR 45. These speakers even seem to make my sub sound better. I got the Polks for a lot more money and would trade them for the Aura's. The Aura's must be placed on a stand at least 18 inches high to get the most out of them. I had purchased these as a gift, but they aren't going anywhere -- hopefully i can get another pair at $47 each (or less) they are worth double that. I don't blame the guy that doesn't want to give them to his 14 year old daughter! Aura Systems even PACKS their speakers in the shipping boxes better than Polk Audio. Sound quality, construction, value
Weakness:
none Like others on this page, I am reviewing the LSW828M speakers that I bought on Ubid for about $140 pr with shipping (watch out, Ubid overcharges for shipping, but if you complain, they will work with you). These are the larger non-tower version that have the 8" Polypropylene woofer and Line Source Monopole tweeter. Too bad Audioreview doesn't allow for us users to add new models to their list! |
