Strength:
clean sound, good price
Weakness:
weak bass, thin mid-range sound, missing some detail, placement sensitive I bought the M22Ti based on reading all the "good" reviews. However, when I first powered it up, the sound was quite disappointing. It sounds muddy, tight, and the base is weak. After 100+ hour break in, it sounded much better. The mid and high are clean, and bass is still weak. However, I don''t expect too much on the bass with this size of speaker. I did A/B compare with B&W CDM1NT. The M22Ti is no where near CDM1NT in terms of image, sound quality and detail. In general, if you only have $320 budget, I think M22Ti is a reasonable deal. You still need to get a subwoofer to complete the full range sound. But if you are looking for good music performace, I don''t think M22Ti is the right one. |

Strength:
Everything that everyone else has mentioned.
Weakness:
They don''t make me coffee or brew beer. As with all online purchases, I was a little leary. And when it comes to buying unheard speakers, I thought it a very crazy thing to do, but I did it anyway. I got them and hooked them up at the shop (theatre scene shop) to the Crown D300 (that I''ve "borrowed" from the sound system to power the shop stereo) and as expected, the highs and mids out shined the JBL movie theater speakers we normally use. What I didn''t expect was the level of bass the M22''s reproduced. They came close to the JBL''s 10''" woofer, but failed to give the slam the JBL''s have. But I was very impressed. Then at home... First I tried them with a Phase Linear 400, very nice over all, with impressive, tight bass. Then with a Proton D1200, and they really started sounding nice. More detailed midrange, although on some recordings the tweeters sounded a little over bright. But they''re not broken in yet. I a/b tested them against my KLH One''s (don''t laugh, it was a rightious speaker company, long, long ago) that I''ve had since 1979 or so. Th M22 held it''s own very nicely against the KLH 3 way towers with twin 8" woofers. To be fair though, I had the KLH''s reconed and the bass resposne was ruined. I was very impressed by the M22''s, and I''m looking forward to the 70 to 100 break in period being over. On day one they sound great. and for the price, they can''t be beat. Strength:
Excellent sound at various power levels, looks great, reasonable price.
Weakness:
It takes a couple of months of break-in to bet the brightness out of the tweeter. I''ve had these for about 4 months now. Out of the box, they sounded great, but they are sounding even better after some extended use. As with most bookshelf sized speakers, they lack in the low region of bass, but that is irrelevant in my case because I use a subwoofer. In the mid to upper range, they sound just right. What''s most impressive is they get neither harsh nor distorted even at very loud volumes. In my experience, that has been the Achilles heel of bookshelf speakers. They tend to sound great at low to mid volumes, but are rough on the ears at high power levels. For the price, you would be hard pressed to find anything that is significantly better. Strength:
Very open with excellent imaging and soundstage, superior sound.
Weakness:
This isn''''t a weakness, but nobody should expect full range audio from a bookshelf. Bass is quite natural and as strong as can be expected. The previous review is right on the money. I purchased these from the factory outlet for $320 with a 30 day money back guarantee. I can''''t see any blems. The factory outlet might be Axiom''''s way of discounting their speakers. Strength:
Clear, detailed and yet very smooth and musical highs and midrange, tight and tuneful bass, 3-D soundstage, great imaging, good efficiency.
Weakness:
Can''t find a matching subwoofer without spending at least 4 times as much :) I am truly impressed. Bought a pair of M22ti for my second system to go with a Creek 4330 int amp. Well, what a surprise! From 50 Hz and up, they sounded much closer to my main system than I expected (M22ti plus Creek 4330 are only about half of the cost of the speaker cables for that system). Highs are so open, extended and yet smooth, midrange is liquid with a lot of detail, and bass, although not designed to go very low, is tight and tuneful. Image is sharp and focused with a very 3-dimentional soundstage. Strength:
Extended, open and smooth highs. Liquid midrange. Clean and tight bass. Three D-imaging and soundstage.
Weakness:
None for what it is designed for. Perfect fit for my second system (Pioneer Elite DVD/LD/CD player-Creek 4330 Int. Amp, Adcom AC Power Enhancer and Tara Labs cables throughout). Still breaking in (72 hours of playing). From 50 hz and up, this little beauty can compete with any high-end speaker I have auditioned (Alon, B&W, Kef, Wilson Audio, Energy, Thiel, Sonus Faber, ML, etc ) regardless the price. The sound was almost as good as my main system ($$$$!) My only problem is to find a matching subwoofer without spending at least 4 times as much:) Similar Products Used: Alon, B&W, Kef, Wilson Audio, Energy, Thiel, Sonus Faber, ML, Gallo Nucleus Reference |

At this price/performance ratio?! LOL + ROFLMAO! I contemplated this decision for months- was leary about ordering speakers "ear unheard". Well, due to the Canadian dollar being worth about 0.65, I figure the only way I'd lose big time is if these speakers were a complete disaster. I contacted Marc at the Audioshop (GREAT guy- and good packager :)) via email and phone. Satisfied with his candor, I ordered the M22ti, and recieved them 2 days later via FEDEX . THe build quality on these speakers is superb- the binding posts, woofers, tweeters, veneering, and cabinetry are top notch. The sound is OUTSTANDING- they are smooth, detailed, have sufficient bass (best with a sub, though), and get VERY LOUD with no strain if called upon to do so. The focus is as good as bookshelf speakers half the size, and imaging and soundstage are conicse, transparent and clear. The Canadian to US dollar price of the M22ti is nothing short of ridiculous, considering the price/performance ratio.
