Strength:
very strong solid bass. clean highs and full mids
Weakness:
didnot come in wood colors but thats ok for the mony u can't beat them you have to pay at least double to get the same equal and quality sound across the board. I know people with 3 to 4 thousand speakers that I am not impressed with the 604's hold up to 95% of those more expensive speakers. And they are always complaining of lack of bass, untill they here the 604's,and cannot believe how clear and tight the bass is. way to go B&W.... Similar Products Used: vandersteens, kef |

Strength:
All, sound is perfect, highs are crystal clear, bass is strong, solid, and mids are excellent.
Weakness:
uh... perhaps a bit heavy. I had been listening for the Altec Lansing ADA880 for quite a while, i was quite conformed by the sound, it was great (and, compared to most systems i´ve seen, still is). Then one day i listened to these, i was simply amazed, the power is endless, the quality is inimaginable. That day I took the decition to get em'. The price was really low and high at the same time, a real bargain, (the equivalent to 300 US dollars), but a friend was also after them, i gave him two weeks of time to buy them, he didnt get the money, i did, bUY them, and since that day, he became an enemy. Envious as hell. BUT I DONT CARE! THESE SPEAKERS ARE JUST SO SOOTHING!!!!! and this made me find out what kind of people i was dealing with, when i found out thet he had backstabbed me. He was so mad for them, he made the impossible to prevent me from buying them, he evan spoke privately to a merchant, for him to buy them, so that i wasnt able to obtain these babies. What a dissapointment... Similar Products Used: Altec Lansing ADA880 |

I agree with the description that Darren A. Schmidt gave for the 604's. These were the first pair of speakers I ever purchased and now that I know much more about the audio market, I would run far far away from the entire B&W line. I have personally had the opportunity to listen to each speaker that B&W produces with a large variety of equipment and in my opinion, each one is overpriced underachievers. Even the Matrix line cannot hold a sonic candle to some speakers costing 50% as much let alone the speakers in their price range. The only speakers that B&W makes that I can even say should be on the market is the 805 and the 602. These both are satisfactory but if you are going to be paying this much for a speaker, there are dozens of other companies you should look at; NHT, PSB, Millersound, ACI and many many others. You must realize that about ten to fifteen years ago they were on the cutting edge but now they are just "big business" looking to make a buck and living off of their "old" good name. When you purchase B&W you are helping support their marketing directors much more than their speaker design! |

I want Darren A. Schmidt to know that his ear must be fowled up, the DM604s are EXCELLENT and can't be overseen by far other names in audio. B&W 600 series are unique not inline with their past high-dollar, or lowjumble speakers..they stand out in sound, performance, and appealed looks...buy them, you wont be disappointed... |

Since the very first moment I started to work, I spent all my disposible income in Audio, 18 years since then , I 've had quite a few systems assembled, my last speaker system were Bose 901 series VI (main speakers) with the acoustimass 5 and 7 series II (front effect, center and rear channels) reinforced with a Velodyne ULD12 subwoofer being the amplifier a Yamaha DSP-A3090. After reading a lot in several publications and forums as this, I decided it was time to invest in a more serious speakers so i ordered a pair of DM-604 with the CC6 center channel (still maintaining the acoustimass for rear channels). Let me tell you that the difference is from night to day in terms of sound quality and workmanship. These speakers are trully an excellent set of speakers they sound clear and very well defined. Specially when used for Home Theater aplications, you will clearly identify where the sound is coming from. |

I bought one pair of DM604 last month through mail together with CC6 and Velodyn VA 8100X. This is wonderfull speaker set I never has before. The sound from DM604 + CC6 is so beautifull and so far I don't need to turn on the VA 8100X to enforce the bass. I also connect my chanel B amp from my Yamaha RX-V992 to Celection Impact 40. When I turn A+B on, my room becomes orchestra theatre. I plan to buy another pair of B&W CDM7SE to replace my Celection Impact 40 some time next month when I have money. |

I have both the B&W and Infinitys OVTR 3 speakers. Both NEED a Velodyne or any other subwoofer. I do prefer the B&W over the Infinitys because of its crisper, clearer middle and high pitch sounds. As I stated before, I do believe BOTH NEED a subwoofer, although Infinity has incorporated one. |
