These speakers are above average for their price. They have deep, clean bass, smooth highs, and punchy midrange, although the lower mids are somewhat bloated. They have an excellent, solid soundstage, but the cabinet may slightly rattle at the highest output levels. The 10 year warranty is better than any other on the market. Decent speakers, but for better sound and more solid construction, spend $500 more for the Tower I. |

Very good soundstage, better than Tower 1. Somewhat bloated lower midrange. Clean, deep bass, but may cause audible reverberations in the cabinet at loud levels. Smooth upper midrange and highs. Great ten-year warranty. Decent price; competitive with $1500 speakers from top manufacturers like Paradigm or NHT. |

I have these speakers connected to a Adcom 5800 power amp and a B&K avp 3090 preamp and these speakers sound phenomenal. I auditioned PSB, Boston Acoustic, BOSE ha ha, Mirage, and Definitive speakers and none of them came close to the sound quality of the Tower II. I dare someone to suggest a better pair of speakers at this price point. Most people do not realize that these speakers need POWER, not some home theatre intergrated amplifer. |

Wow, we certainly have some diametrically opposed views on this speaker. I understand both sides of the argument. Ijust finished a weekend of speaker shopping which included listening to B&W CDM7-SE, Paradigm Studio 100, and the |

i have these speaker hooked up to an hk avr25 receiver and NAD 515 cd player and couldn't be happier with their performance. vocals and midrange is excellent; bass is average, and a sub can help in this dept...shop around before you go with the towers, but they certainly did the trick for me! |

I hav had the Tower II's for about six month's now and I am very satisfied with their performace. They may have a challenge to compete with speakers that are intended almost totally for music at the same price point like Sonus Faber's Concerto. However the offer a very good performance for both music and movies. They are an outstanding value for the price/performance they offer. |

these speakers sound terrible. Bloated midbass, cheap sloppy bass , undefined mids. Henry Kloss and Dr. Bose really stink !!! |

I suspect these speakers would be just fine for HT, especially if used with a sub. However, I don't think they're especially well suited for a music-only system. To my ears they seem to over-emphasize frequency extremes at the expense of a smooth mid-range and overall balance. They do project a fairly good soundstage. I think there are much better speakers available for the price. |

These speakers were very interesting to listen too because I was expecting some great sound for the $1000/pair price range. The the B&W DM305's have a more defined Bass and Great imaging and more defined Highs and would out perform the Tower II speakers and the DM305's are only $450 a pair. When I look for a speaker I look for the a good sound stage and good imaging. A good sounding speaker shouldn't need to be Bipoler or Dipoler to improve sound staging(talking about the whole Cambridge line in general). It doesn't work that way, A good pair of stereo speakers should give you the surround effect. when listening to vocals You hear the Voice coming out of the center channel in Prologic, But a good pair of stereo speakers would show were the singer is standing on stage or give you that same center channel effect. If the singer was standing canter stage then you would get the voice image out of the center between the stereo speakers. But if they were standing a little off to the left then their voice would be heard a little off center to the left. It doen't cost a lot to get this effect. No matter what speakers you listen too in the Cambridge line you will not get that effect in a pair of speakers, also same with the Bose line. The imaging of a good pair of stereo speaker gives you an airy sound and makes the speakers disappear. I have seen this in many speakers lines such as = B&W, MISSION, Near, Snell, Sonas Faber, Triad, PSB, Dynaudio's, Monitor Audio, ect. But I have never heard a cambridge with good imaging or Bose, the sound comes dirctly from the speaker Box because of low dispersion Low or no despersion = BAD Imaging. Cambrigde and Bose Need to go to Despersion school and learn all about it or just listen to some good speakers and pick up some new ideas. If you really like these speakers I suggest listen elsewere. |
