I have owned the towers, tower 3's,center stage, and their slamming sub for about a year and 6mos.At fist listen I was not impressed, however when I took this setup home it was a tottaly different story. With the towers in the front and the tower 3,s in the rear I was tottaly engulfed in the sound. The towers did sound a little bloated in the bass region ,but after pulling them foward about 2 feet the bloatiness was gone.If you can't pull them out this far try sticking a sock in the ports.Everybodys setup and tastes are different, for instance if you like tight fast bass and a bright sound these speakers are not for you. However,if you like a warm sound with deep bass, these may fit the bill.Iam running a BK REF20 and an ATI1505,and a 7700 and the system sounds awesome!Don't let the hype of big cost big name speakers be the deciding factor in your purchase. I'm telling you, your not goin to hear a big difference in sound at this price range., It's not going to happen. Now if you slap down another thousand then youll see a difference, but remeber 'it's all relative.

THE TOWERS ARE AN ASTONISHING VALUE. I'VE OWNED THEM FOR MORE THAN A YEAR AND HAVE POWERED THEM WITH 3 DIFFERENT RECEIVERS. PRESENTLY WITH A HARMON KARDON AVR75. I'VE DISCOVERED THAT ANY TIMBRE, COLORATION, BRIGHTNESS OR WARMTH IS ALMOST ENTIRELY DEPENDENT ON THE RECEIVER OR AMPLIFIER DRIVING THEM. THE BASS IS TIGHT, ACCURATE AND AS GOOD AS THE AMP DRIVING IT. THE MIDRANGE IS SOLID AND THE HIGHS CLEAR WITH DETAIL BEST DESCRIBED AS SPARKLING. I CAN HARDLY WAIT UNTIL I HEAR THEM WITH A MARANTZ SR-18 IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT.FIVE STARS

Bloated and boomy bass, cheaply made, average sounding speakers that are not worth the money. Better values from Pinnacle, Paradigm, B&W, and others.Don't buy these speakers until you compare them to others in their price class. You will be amazed at how bad of a value they really are.

I have been in the business of custom audio installation for over 15 years. Normally I would never consider buying retail for a pair of speakers, but these speakers are different. The first time I heard them, I was amazed at the natural, full-range sound. The price tag was what really amazed me though. At around $1400, they were an excellent value. While they are very speaker looking, it is the combination of value, great sound, and very knowledgeable sales people that makes the Towers worth every penny.

Lastly, to those people who continually bash Cambridge Soundworks: Relatively few people can or would want to spend over $5,000 for a pair of speakers. Cambridge Soundworks offers everyone - rich and poor - a chance to enter the world of home audio.

To all reading this: These speakers are a great value. If you don't want to spend a small fortune buying high-end speakers from me, go to Cambridge Soundworks. The people there will treat you with the utmost respect and always give you exactly what you need.

Warranty, price, sound quality!

I'm sure that most of these negative comments are being placed by the same people. Just like that bose bashers in the Bose reviews. I think the get off on trying to bring down the name of quality companies! One word of caution, Henry Kloss is well known for selling out his best companies! I.E. Advent & KLH. Among others I'm sure! Look for drastic quality changes soon. And not in a good way!As for now, I find all of their products to be among the best in class!

Tremendous performance for a speaker costing only $1500/pair. I don't like all the "improvements" newer speaker sets have to offer - the metallic tweeters and the built-in subwoofers (too harsh or too artificially boomy). The CSW Tower I's are the best mid-level priced (or perhaps, lower-level priced, depending on how much you're willing to spend) speakers you can get! Has two 8" woofers (tested to >30 Hz!), a 5 1/4" midrange driver and 1 5/8" soft-dome fabric tweeter. They sound absolutely great! Obviously, these speakers can be considered HOF Henry Kloss' (a audio legend) pride and joy.

During the "pricing" period, I "auditioned" the CSW Tower I's against the best Polk, Acoustic Research, and NHT had to offer. For $1500 ($1300 on sale), the CSW's were at the top of my list. They sound infinitely better than anything under $2000. Sure, if you want high audiophilia speakers, get some B&W's and dish out twice as much.
For the Towers, it's all about compromise: one doesn't get the full-range capability or true, pure acoustics, but for the price, the quality and value are outstanding. I really can't see any other speakers I would get in the price range ($1000-2000). They come with an excellent 10-year warranty, performs extremely well under both music and home theater utilization, offers top-notch bass response (overall, great high's and low's), and gives the consumer an innovative, deep, more-than-satisfying richness few speakers can match.

Strength:

Bipolar design adds a 3rd dimension to the sound. Value. Fullness and naturalness of the sound. Unless you need to have your molars rattled, you won't need to add a subwoofer.

Weakness:

None.

I'm not an audiophile, but I am a musician, and to my ears these speakers sound wonderful. If you like clean, balanced, natural sound with plenty of crispness up top and oomph on the bottom, I think you'll like these. Moving them around is quite a lot of fun, and Henry Kloss knew how much your own acoustic and taste means when he designed them. The tryout period is no risk, so why not risk it? I got mine used from hifi.com at just over half the list price, and I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase.

These are audiophile speakers for those of you on a budget. At $1500, you get bipolar speakers that sound very good. The high end is clear. The bass is average. I would recommend a subwoofer to supplement the bass. Give them a try. You wont be sorry.

I just wanted to say that I think the same person wrote all of the one star reviews on this page. From all the good reviews and articles by stereo magazines I'd say the person that gave them 1 star is full of BS.
