I just picked up a pair of these and thought I would try them on my pioneer elite 84txsi. All I can say is Wow, I could not believe how good these thing sounded. There is more bass than you can ever want ,the mid and highs also sound great. I have a pair of vs120 and these things really pound too,but they don't come close to the AT-15's .The only problem is I now have to find a stronger amp to drive them. They are rated 400watts @ 4 ohms.If you can find them.. get em ...this is a fun speaker. |

AT-15 cerwin vegas have given me 21 years of clean, loud rock n roll music, purchased in 1987 @ Circit City,I just blew the bead aorund the woffer, when my daughter deceided to put some "August Burns Red" music in & i wanted to show her how loud these speakers would play. I paln on fixing both woffers & hopefully i get another 20 years out of them. |

Strength:
Legendary bass response
Weakness:
None. I previously owned a pair of D-9s back in the mid 80s. In comparing the two, I would say the A-15s are more balanced overall. The D-9s hold a slight edge in bass response though. Here is a rundown of my setup:

Strength:
AT-15,,,,OK V-15,,,,BETTER D-9,,,,BEST
Weakness:
BAD ON THE EARS these speakers are ok at most, they were my 3rd set of 15 inch cerwin vegas,my first set was the D-9 purchased un 1985, which were later replaced with another set ov d-9's, then later i found a set of AT-15's that i added to my D-9's for added umph,,they didnt quite have the punch that i am use to and were mostly dust collecters,i sold them when i found a set of V-15's to rep-lace them for 200.00.the V-15's match up with the D-9's very well,as the V-15 give me the highs that the d-9 has been lacking without ruining the bass ,by far the D-9 has never been matched then the V-15 comes in 2nd with the AT-15 falling back to last place as my choice, CONCLUSION: ADD A SET OF V-15's TO YOUR D-9's. drive each speaker with at least 110 watts of continuous power, as the V-15 may begin to distort after this level, have another set of D-9 at the ready, FOR THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN A QUAD OF D-9's |

Strength:
TOUGH. Loud at low input if thats what you like. Very vocal sound. Would please Tim The Tool Man.
Weakness:
Banana plug inputs broke due to my rough handling @ parties and one cabinet came apart where seams meet and rattles. Bought pair of AT-15's in 1989. Still using them now (2007). They've been hooked up in the hatch of my car, strapped to the back of a Toyota pickup sucking dust for a party and been cranked by drunk friends repeatedly. Tough and still sound fine although I may have blown one mid and one speaker has become detached where the seams meet in the bottom and rattles (like another reviewer has mentioned) and it rattles. I need to fix that - have to take my time with a glue gun 'cause those screws couldn't hold it! Been hooked up to a NAD 7100 receiver rated @ 50W RMS and the occasional car amp. Even borrowed a 65 passenger school bus last summer and planted this home stereo in the back with an AC/DC converter for a stag party with 30 drunks. These speakers have alot of memories and keep cranking. And they can crank loud & clear. Customer Service As usual, I paid too much for them but considering they're still cranking after over 15 years of abuse........... |

I bought my Cerwin Vega AT-15 speakers new about 16 years ago. I paired them up w/ a pair of CV AT-12s. Although I've never tried having a block party, I've never been able to turn them loud enough for distortion. The four all together have a fantastic sound. I guess the AT-12s may help w/ the mids and highs. I also have a pair of AT-8s hooked up for my surround sound. Awesome speakers. |

Strength:
Great hard hitting bass, and still very tight for 15"s. Capable of going very loud without distortion.
Weakness:
They dont produce very good midbass, some better mids would Probably help.
These speakers are very good. They sound great at low listening levels and are Capable of going very loud without distortion. These speakers really rock, and can pump out some serious bass.

Strength:
Rich and ambient sound at lower volumes make you appreciate the AT-15s and your eardrums.Very effecient and warm and easy to listen too.
Weakness:
Size may be a factor for consumers like myself with small rooms and the AT-15s WILL expose recording and broadcast weaknesses. Doesnt take too long to Appreciate the quality of these speakers.Although I have to Crank my volume down because of a small listening area these would be more suited for large to extra large rooms.Plenty of natural color and clarity to the AT-15s and was quite suprised with the tightness of the 15 inch woofers.Using a 20 year old Denon amp,65 watts per channel with lots of life left and know the potential of these speakers. |
