Heard these at Sears, of all places. Listening to my test CD, I was impressed with the clarity of vocals, bass guitar, drums. Even taking into consideration their higher efficiency, they were much more impressive than AR-328PS and AR-318 PS which were also in the store, both of which were more expensive. To be fair, only one of the AR-318PS's was hooked up ... oh well, you can't have everything I guess. |

These E-312's are great speakers that only help the CV name. They are practically bullet proof and will handle whatever power you throw at them. I push them with my Yamaha R-V905 and can crank it past halfway without any distortion and there's always plenty of boom!! For the price you can't complain, I picked mine up for $450.00 and haven't regretted spending it yet. |

Well I just got these speakers and haven't had a chance to fully test them but they seem great thus far. The bass response is quite nice. Even with my 200watt sub turned off my system sounds great. I picked these bad boys up for only $290 plus about $40 shipping for the pair! ... Brand New. They arent the most precise speakers for all listening but they are awesome for their purpose and price. These things are loud! If anyone wants a link to pick these up about as cheap as you can find them "brand new"... then feel free to e-mail me |

Well, after doing alot of debating and researching what other people thought of these, I picked up on Clearance at Sears for about $340 after taxes. In two days I already spent hours listening to these and can say that I am definately impressed. The range is very good, although admittedly the midrange seems muted. The bass response is about the best I've heard from any speaker anywhere near this price range (or less) although for a bass addict like me I still turn the bass tone controls to max (+10 dB) for audio listening. Unlike many cheaper speakers, I experienced no fatigue listening to these speakers; whereas a pair I picked up for $40/both (3-way, 110w, 12") gives you a headache after 30 minutes. Imaging on these arent that great, but I bought these with the intent that they would be used 90% audio and 10% theatre anyway. These get loud enough for my home listening preferences at 60% power (60% to mid-setting) even on my 100w/ch Pioneer VSX-456 without any perceptible distortion at which point the glass on my chandellier starts to shake precariously =P (Note this is a furnished room where the ceiling slopes from 20-30ft high) Overall, an excellent buy for the cost, I definately recommend the CV brand to anyone looking for good, loud home audio speakers with excellent bass response. No subwoofer needed (except maybe in my case...) |

Strength:
Easy to use, nice variety of a/v inputs/outputs, nice remote, DD and DTS decoders, 27 soundfields, and looks good in my room
Weakness:
Static on all 5 of my speakers I had bought this reciever in Fargo, North Dakota, and they said 2 day ups up to fairbanks, 1 month later i get it aftr 2 order cancelations and UPS forgeting about it. The first time i hooked it up to my Cerwin-Vega E-312 and E-76C speakers, it tore it up BAD! 2 hours later, the 3 speakers were filled with static, so i changed the sondfield and it was a little better. then a couple days later i got my Cerwin RE-16 back speakers and i couldnt even use them there was so much static. then i found a solution that worked for a few weeks- TURN THE VOLUME UP! then i just couldnt stand it so i brought it back to Sears and got a new one. there was static there too, but not as bad. so im deciding to keep because i love ALMOST anything sony. it matches my sony tv and cd player, and soon to be dvd player. though sony remotes, in my opinion, are the best ones ever made, especially this one because of its main buttons and the flip-up lid that reveals more. for $400, i think this is the best reciever you can get. the ONLY problem ive had with it (besides static) is, just recently, while listening to kid rock, the volume on it drops, and when i turn it up, it decides that it wants to kick in again and it gets VERY loud, which i like. and another reason i like it is the fact that i can personalize it to what ever i want, by pushing a few buttons on the remote. |

Strength:
Awsome speakers!!! These are truly well crafted speakers. More below...
Weakness:
None I can see I simply love these speakers, constructed far better than any speaker I've owned before. The E-Series 312 is a complete loudspeaker system thats digital ready for home theater use. The "12 inch subwoofer is set in an aluminum frame for huge power handling and low distortion. Mid range 5 1/4" speakers are smooth and accurate and set in its own enclosure to isolate and residual woofer modulation. The Tweeters are 30mm balanced dome gives effortless clear high frequency output. The cabinets are made well to say the least, very heavy each speaker weighs 60lbs!!! I will never buy another brand as far as home speakers are concerned. ***** stars Similar Products Used: Sony 3-way 275 watt max power input "12 in. |
