Strength:

Great for MTV listeners

Weakness:

Horrbile for anything else

How can people call themselves Audiophiles and like those boomboxes ?!
MTV is not audiophile, try listening to some REAL music on those speakers for once. Once you try Classic music / Opera / Jazz or anything acoustic, even Ledz, those speakers sound totally disharmonic and horrible. The bass is booming all the time and the treables are tearing through your ears like crazy. These speakers are good for MTV parties and stupid action movies, nothing else besides that. And if that's all you listen too, you're NOT an audiophile.

Similar ? Maybe my old boombox... Most things I've heard are much better.

Weakness:

depends upon your listening goals

These speakers have the output of concert PA's and the clarity necessary to make them applicable as home theater mains. Although, let me clarify that these speakers are not a smart choice for someone looking for sonic excellence in their musical playback. that's what the def tech's are for.
The E-715's were designed to knock a hole through the wall opposite of them, and they come very close to accomplishing that. For example, I am writing this review from the second floor of my house, while one of my friends is playing the vegas downstairs. result: I am getting a very thorough foot massage while everything keeps bouncing off my desk. no joke. the new e line of vegas runs right over the older models, a pair of which I own. so don't think it's just new product mark-up your spending your hard-earned dough on.
While they will play with as low as 30 watts running to them, you need serious power to let your whole block know what time it is. I run my pair with a Gemini xpm1200(530watts/side)which does the job very nicely and isn't bulky.
So if you want a set of speakers that will rock the block and sound decent for television and movies, look no further.

Strength:

muscle, sound great down low and up louuuuud!!!!!!If your in the sweet spot I`ve not heard better. My wife hates em.

Weakness:

Neighbors don`t like me anymore.

I never really cared for 15 inch woofers until now.I hate muddy bass!!! The bass on these monsters punches you in the chest.Rather Then numbing your ears with a long trailing cone rattle.I`m pushing em with a Carver HR742(I know, old. but it still sound`s great!!)And I listen to Jazz to funk to the heaviest(if you like Tool.BUY THESE SPEAKERS.)Everything sounds good with these speakers.Excellent separation for a speaker in this price range. I would recommend them to the deaf,Because you can feel these speakers as much as hear them.If you want something with big sound but fear the 15`s.Try these,go listen to em,compare, nothing in this price range(even some above it) can touch em.Oh,you might wanna get ya couple 3 amp fuses.

Strength:

Very heavy on bass. Very powerful and loud.

Weakness:

None...well I need something...My cd player skips?

Extremely nice and loud. Great sensitivity, will run at like 40 Watts, so don't let the 400W MAX make you change your mind. They shake my neighbor's house and rattle the fence around my house. You can hear these speakers from over 5 blocks away on a nice calm day. Would recommend.

Strength:

Clarity when turned up loud. The Bass is the best from stereo speakers without built in power or a sub that cost less then $800

Weakness:

Blows 2 1/2 amp fuses easily but tech support said 3 amps would work and i haven't blown one yet

I bought these speakers after i received money from 8th grade graduation. They are the best speakers i have ever heard. The only think i wish it had was an optional plasic casing because the corners get dinged up and they were hard to get up the 2 flights of stairs from my basement by myself. And maybe if the frequency response was 20hz-20khz not 26hz-20khz. They still are a great set of speakers that i recomend to any one who spends most of their free time listening to music.

Strength:

BASS, BASS, BASS, along with everthing else. These speakers are something else. I'm surprised that more clubs don't use them. Free massages, just lean against a nearby wall. Great companion when you're rollin on E, the bass significantly takes advantage of the increased tactile sensations. LOL

Weakness:

HUM??

Awesome speakers, great sound, great bass, great price. Love them off. Can't wait until I host the next mini-rave at my house!

Strength:

Deep hard hitting bass

Weakness:

I actualy have had some problems with my box rattling...turns out the bass hit so hard it stripped the screw holes that keep the speaker in...

Good speakers overall...This is my first pair of big speakers i have bought and im not dissapointed. The only thing i would suggest is...If the offer a extend warranty....spend the extra cash and go for it.

Strength:

good bass.

Weakness:

bad imaging, sound stage, etc. bass bass bass. that's all you get.

worse speakers I have ever heard. They had good bass but all sounded muddy and the mids and highs were lousy!!! Cerwin Vega is NOT the way to go for high class sound. These are cheap speakers and had make a mistake buying them. Go with Klipsch! Especially the KLF series

Strength:

Clear true sound!!
These speakers are for those of us who like it LOUD!
The 715s do an exellent job with power driven by my H/K 45.
The speakers deliver an amazing sound at mid volume and only sound
better as you increase it.
The Cabinets and frame seem heavy enough to with stand the base and not vibrate..These speakers are amazing.

Weakness:

Fuse protected instead of circuit breaker, and an on/off dial
for mid & treble settings instead of a vaiable selector knob.

These speakers meet all my needs for music and movie listening, They are NOT sheilded so keep em away from your tv. Mine are about one ft away on each side of the big screen and they do not interfere.
I suppose fuse protection is maybe stronger than circuit breakers but i preferred the breakers on my old D-5s better, although I have yet to pop the fuses on the 715s.
With the extended warranty, these speakers are covered for darn near anything for 9 years and I highly recommend them for those people who love music of any sort.
At $950 Canadian, they are expensive, but worth it.
I also listened to Paradigm speakers before my purchase, but came home to CV and glad I did!
