Strength:
Superior sound, great treble, great bass, no need for a sub-woofer.
Weakness:
nada Holy shnikies. This is truly the best "package" speaker I have ever heard. By "package," I mean a speaker with tweeter, woofer, and mid-range cones in the same box. Normally, when you buy one of these "package" speakers, you compromise one of the three, and the sound isn't all there. Not so with the Cerwin-Vega. The bass is so good that there is no need for a separate sub-woofer, and the mids and tweeters provide a whole, clean sound. Go buy these speakers. NOW. Similar Products Used: Similar bose speakers |

Strength:
Huge amounts of power. Great lows and extreme highs.
Weakness:
Really heavy This is a great speaker, if you want a speaker that you dont need a powered sub for this is the one. It has a awsome tweeter, if your not carefull with the trebble adjustment you will hurt your ears. This speaker can get extremley loud. Similar Products Used: None with as much bass, youd need a powered sub woffer for the 26herts bass. |

Strength:
FAT Bass, neat high Frenquecies
Weakness:
Will Probably blow your ear drums a day or another. Require a High-End Amplifier to drive them (at least 200watts RMS if you want to avoid wave clipping at high volume) Those big monsters are high volume speakers, for who want to listen to loud music. Forget Sub-Woofer with those, you dont need one, spend money on a higher amplifier. Similar Products Used: Paradigm, Nuance, Yamaha (nothing here equals them) |

Strength:
Bass I guess
Weakness:
Don't know yet I just got these monsters out of the boxes. I was happy since I got a great deal on these speakers. I went to check out the inside of the 3 components without the grille when one of the pegs snaped off. Didn't break the plastic snaped where the peg met the glue. I don't think it was my vault but kind of pissed me off when I just got it. If anybody knows if the warranty covers the grilles please help. Other than that it looking good and sounds great. Strength:
Incredible bass, good look, midrange is very clear and highs sharp.
Weakness:
Moving these behemoths is a job for Hannibal and his elephants. I bought these speakers with much trepidation. I didn't want to pay $700 for speakers that I might not be able to push with my Kenwood 1080VR a/v receiver. I had a CV LS-6C center and LS-5 surrounds, so I really wanted these. Much to my surprise these speakers play amazingly well with absolutely no detectable distortion. I like to play my movies loud and they responded with no problem. The lobby scene from Matrix was a good test and they responded to the gunshots with perfection while keeping up well with all of the interesting ricochet noises. I am very comfortable playing these speakers very loud knowing that they are fuse protected. I feel like I stole these speakers at what I paid and hearing them I would probably pay the $900 that some other people have paid if I had to. I can't overstate the amazing sound that these put out. I may not be an audiophile, but I have never heard speakers with this level of sound that didn't distort. Your wife is going to hate the size. I find myself playing more and more tracks trying to test them. Beware, don't let your dogs run in front of these at high levels, or you may have to get the other side of them trimmed. If you love it loud, and clear, you are going to have to have these speakers. Similar Products Used: There isn't much that compares with these monsters. |

I think that SEAN'S review should be removed from this post. Until now the LS15s had a consistent 5 star rating, and rightfully so. Every speaker is designed for particular music, and if you don't like bass heavy music then you shouldn't be buying speakers like this anyway. You'd be more suited to small Mission loudspeakers with feeble little drivers built for pink slipper wearing individuals. |

Strength:
These speakers are HEAVY! They weigh 75lbs. each. They never left the groud in my house. They are sturdy and are unbreakable. They provide heart-beat irregularities because of the power. They gave me slight ear damage! They have a sleak black walnut finish that goes well with the red woofer rubber.
Weakness:
They would have been better with DUAL midranges. The midrange is kind of weak compared to the enormous output of the bass. The tweeters should have been able to be controlled as in the E series. I believe that in home audio, these are the best CONE DRIVING speakers. The bose series speakers are radiant line sound processing speakers and sound clearer but add no bass boost and aren't as hardy. These guys are for HOME use. They can be driven at 400 watts, true, but when driven At full peak they wear a lot faster. They are not good for travel because the wood finish is fancy and not carpeted or surrounded by a case. Strength:
BASS and huge amounts of noise
Weakness:
highs, mids...all around sound I have been looking for speakers for a long time now. Everywhere i looked cerwin vega was there...OMG 400 watts! That is MASSIVE! Anyhow, to make a long story short... I went and listened to them at best buy, right out of the box. The sound was terrible to say the least?! I was very dissapointed. The mids sounded more like dry clicks and the highs were very shrill. The speakers seemed to make thier own sound out of the music. The only good thing about the speakers was the deep strong bass. It sounded pretty tight, and VERY loud. I read all this talk about people who like these speakers being teenagers that dont know anything. Well i am 17 years old, listen to all rap and hard rock music...and can still tell crappy sound when i hear it. I think i will stick to my "weak" infinty bookshelves, and kappa perfect subs. They may not make tons of noise...but the sound is clean and sounds great. |

I don't know actually if I will get the Cerwin Vega E-715's or the LS-15's. If someone knows which ones that I should get, please e- mail me. |
