Strength:

LOUD and lots of bass ~ good speakers, durable, they rock our dorm room ~ great for anyone that likes to feel the thump of a bass beat

Weakness:

treble at low levels

I got these things about 3 or 4 years ago, and i have loved them ever since i have gotten them. my parents hated them cuz i would rattle everything off the shelves in rooms on the floor underneath my room.

I have pounded with these things for a long time and have never had a problem with them. Never blown a fuse and i have had this thing cranked many times. They are a great speaker if u want bass, if u don't, don't bother buying cerwin vega, cuz that is what they are BAAAAASSSSSS!!!!!!! and that is why i love this company. That is why when I wanted to upgrade my system and add a powered sub i only looked at CW for brands, and ended up getting the LW-15 (which by the way, thumps totally)

so i think they are great speakers

BASS

I see a lot of complaints about these speakers, but from what I've seen and read they don't claim to be the type of speaker these people are accusing them of not being. If you enjoy classical music, then these speakers aren't for you. Heck I guess I could go rate a speaker designed for that kind of music as useless at high volume and lacking bass, but they were never intended for that. If you want to feel the bass of the music you listen to, if you want your neighbours to do the same, then these babies are for you. Great for house, techno rock and pop. Classical and Jazz lovers, leave your purses at home.

I have a set of dx-7s which are very similar they have been a great all around speaker for me for 2yrs now they are rated at 250 watts rms im running 150 rms clean onkyo power to them and they can rattle my windows and walls very easy.the bass response is very exceptable compared to some high end speakers that just dont have it. I notice they dont get a very high rating from many but i just dont understand why i feel that if you run enough clean power which it doesnt take much because they are so efficient that you will recieve clean
enogh sound for just about anybody of course they dont have silk dome tweeters
or poly subs but every design has its advantages and disadvantages. So for
the nit wits out there who put down cerwin vegas can stick with there yuppy
over priced poor sounding infinities that could never even attempt to keep
up or at any time out do vegas.

ive heard many speakers, and for the buck you cant get a better a speaker, the low end is excelent!i powered them with my caver HTR-880 receiver 85per chanel, and was impressed at the sound the low end was strong at hi level and clean, the high end was nothing to really brag about, but for the buck thease speakers are well worth it well made...

Strength:

Bullet Proof, fuse and circuit breaker protected. You will not blow these speakers.

Weakness:

VERY HEAVY, hard to find, impossible to contact cerwin vega for technical support

I have had these for over 3 years, and have beat the hell out of them. They will not break. They are very sensitive 97 db or something close to that. I have had them in my dorm, and they are great for parties. The bass is incredible, and if someone spins the volume knob, dont worry. They are fuse protected, the speakers will not blow
