These speakers are for those over crazed teenagers who all they care about is volume. In that area they are ok. But as in sound quality they are horrible!! How can a 1" tweeter make sufficient HF sound? The answer is IT CAN'T. The LF is so Mushy from the 12" cone flex that it doesn't even sound like the origional bass from the recording.

Cerwin Vega and Hall of Fame in the same sentence?!? Over-zealous bass freaks are one thing, but a speaker on steroids is another. Mike Tyson delivers a better performance than these spea... no, well ... whatever they are. And the price? I could build a better set myself for 1/5 the cost. But please, spare me the specifications. I won't even be able to hear you over the distortion.

Rod

i have a pair of cerwin vega AT-15, these speakers got so much low bass, there are cracks in my wall. one complaint is that they are so damn big and heavy approx 95lbs. they will be hard to move. i've yet to hear any other speaker match the low bass output of my vegas. if you want speakers that rock, get these.

I was so impressed with my Cerwin-Vega home stereo system, I decided to strip my 12'' subs and put them in my BMW. It had so much low bass that they caused my back windshield to come unsealed and caused it to leak in the rain. But I don't give a shit because I have the hardest-hitting system in my town. CV's for life.

I have heard a wide variety of speakers in the last few months and you would have to spend twice as much money to get a pair of speakers with as good all around sound quality as the VS120's.

I really like my VS-120's. They can handle quite alot of bass with hardly any distortion and the high's are really crisp. They have a nice sound to them I may add.

My VS-120's have put pioneers, optimus, infinitys, JBLs, and even Bose to shame. By far the loudest speakers in the dorms. They have continuously exceeded my expectations
in bass performance and crystal clear sound. Forever faithful customer.

I've listened to VS-120's and various other Cerwin speakers and by no means are these audiophile speakers. These are party speakers that pound out bass and thats about it, but hey everybody is drunk so nobody really cares. But to compare these speakers to anything good. no comparison sorry!!!!!!!!

Strength:

Great Bass, You can crank them without any problems, except for getting noise violations.

Weakness:

None

Can't beat a Cerwin Vega. The sound is outstanding. Can't wait to get the subwoofer and center channel to complete my surround sound. Any person could buy these and enjoy them. Make sure you have an eqalizer so you can adjust the sound you prefer.

Strength:

Bass, power handling, sensitivity, price.

Weakness:

Detail and subtlety.

I had these speakers when they first came out and I just want to give Cerwin Vega credit for a good quality speaker with decent characteristics that doesn't break the bank. I totally agree with all the college kids. These speakers will rock the house and it's too bad I got mine just after college (I was still poor!) I was thoroughly happy with these for a few years and am now moving on to a higher level speaker, probably something from Monitor Audio. These speakers have tons of bass and will play louder than I can stand. I tried standing down the hall and cranking the volume until I thought my windows might vibrate out. I never came close to clipping or blowing the fuse. You will need some heavier gauge wire and a decent reveiver or amp to drive these. They are very efficient though at low volumes due to their high sensitivity. You just can't beat these Vegas for the price. In fact, I still have some Vegas in my car and those are exceptional compared to anything. Happy Listening!
