I just bought a pair of vega 120's and for the money you can't go wrong, they have good crisp highs, and the bass speaks for itself

I bought a pair of cerwin-vega VS-120 speakers a couple of years ago and for what they cost they sound great. They have excellent bass, mids, and highs. Maybe if some of these people run them with a good 200 watt a channel amp they won't have distortion. I use to have a pioneer and they did ok but it was the distortion maker not the cerwins. They are really powerful and clear speakers with almost no distortion at any volume level. I highly recommend these.

The Cerwin Vega VS120 are absolutely amazing! No other speaker can give you the amount of clean bass that these speakers deliver for even twice the price. The mid and highs sound crystal clear. I'm throwing my Infinity's out the door. I cannot understand how anyone could be dissapointed with these speakers.

I am a professional musician and audio technician, and I would have to say that in their price range, the VS-120s really are quite good. I am running a set on my second system with a Parasound pre and power amp. They have good imaging, tight accurate bass, and somewhat uncolored mids and highs. As far as the distortion is concerned, I run 300w a piece through them for 5-7 hours at a time when I dj local dances and there has never once been the slightest bit of audible distortion. If you're running a crappy reciever (ie. anything by Pioneer/Optimus) you will get distortion, but trust me you would also get that with Paradigms, NHT's, or Linns too.For the price there are NONE better. (trust me I've looked)

Yep they suck had a pair and yes they did have tight bass but just to much bass you could not tone them down for actual listening. Oh and the midrange would make a person puke. I replaced them with Paradigm Monitor 9's paid $540 for them and they sound millions of times better and oh that smooth natural bass of the Paradigms just cant be beat. Spend the extra few hundred and buy good sounding paradigms or BIC or something.

i am no audiophile but i do know when i see a bad speakers,i bought a pair of these and at the time i did not know what i was thinking?? the bass was over powering and was a nightmair! the trebel was distorted and not well pronounced, making it easy to blend in w/the midrange. i took them back and went to cc to look at the dcm kx12 the bass was a lot tighter and the trebel you could actuly hear!!!once agian these are no audiophile speakers and are just a waste of $$ if you want bass w/clarety go to dcm!

These speakers are awesome! They're not for precise listening, but anyone worth their salt knows Cerwin Vegas aren't made for precise listening anyway. What they are made for is wall-rattling ear-splitting, bass-booming music without any distortion, and at that they excel. People who complain about this speaker's clarity and precision are the same type of people who complain that a Viper doesn't get good gas mileage: well duh, that's not what its made for. Five stars for doing exactly what it was built for, which is something that can't be said for a lot speakers out there.

I'm no audiophile, let's just make that clear. I'm a college student who likes to study at low volumes, and party at high volumes. These speakers will do that at a very reasonable price. I was looking at speakers for my system and I was seeing $400 for bookshelfs! Refined audiophiles go for those because they can afford it. I wanted some good-soundin, ground-poundin speakers for a good price. The Vegas are an awesome buy. You get good loudspeakers for cheap. Yeah, they may not convey Mozart's 3rd symphony as well as other speakers can, but the Beastie Boys will be heard (and felt) clearly all the way to grandma's house! Enjoy!

These speakers absolutly kick ass. They ain't realy Hi-Fi but they pump out some serious bass. No need for a sub in any setup involving these speakers. They are excelent value and sound brilliant with techno, house... .You get a heck of a lot of loudspeaker for your money.
