My brother gave me a full set of Def Tech speakers back in 2009. I now drive these with a Outlaw 7125 amp for the L and R channels, max 125 watts at 8 ohms. Previously I had a decent Denon 5.1 receiver and that was fine. (Maybe 90'ish watts at 8 ohms.

Definitve, now more than ever, is the red-headed step-child of this industry. Consistently producing products that are lauded by critics and enthusiasts alike, and now being sold by the likes of (boo, hiss) best buy, it's easy to see why the snobbish, predictable, "phile" crowd denounce their very existence and scoff at the idea that anyone with any sense would consider such a purchase for a serious music rig,

hard to move with the sock around the speaker, cant grip I was so afraid to get these speakers at $500 a pair in mint form from a nice 72 year old man with All the trash spoked about these speakers. The way i looked at it is there is no way the can sound that bad.I am so Glad i bought them. I have been fighting a bass problem in my theater area,,,no bass in the sweet spot. If you wan bass,go in the kitchen.I tried,,Klipsch Chourus II, Lascala,Polk Monitor 10,Vintage JBL l220's, all sound nice in a different room,,THESE Speakers DId it for me,, i am done with this room.BAss is excellent and tight,Bids are smooth the tweets could be a little brighter "for me" but the nices Theater sound i can find for the cash.ALL you Fools Buying these speakers and talking trash about them,,Did you listed to them before you bought them???who buys a car without a test drive!!!!!! GO buy your speakers from the Guys in the white van!!!!!!! |

I have owned the BP-2000 for about a year now and for the money, they simply cannot be beaten. |

I have lived now with these speakers for about a year, and truly feel you can't find a more versatile speaker. I run the BP2000's with an adcom 5800 power amp and the sound even on poorly recorded material is so smooth and clean. Please note that I felt this way when driving the speakers with my Yamaha reciever before the addition of my amp. After given proper time to setting the level and EQ controls these just can't be beat (this includes auditioning several more expensive brands). I did notice an improvement using the line-level sub input on the back of the speaker, as opposed to just connecting them with one pair of cables. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for individuals with broad musical tastes. Electrostatic lovers, please audition these with your favorite material, allow time to experiment, and I promise you will be blown away. |

Strength:
Tight controled bass when setup properly. It's very crucial that you do...but when you do, look out!
Weakness:
Heavy, Tall, takes time to configure When setup right, both music and HT will soar for you. A nice large room will be even better. Contrary to some (RICH) these speakers do not suck. Audition them first with some good amps and you'll see. HT is their focus though with music (all kinds) a close second. If you're 60/40 HT, it's hard to find a better buy. Trust me Similar Products Used: Boston Acoustic, Martin Logan, NHT, Paradigm |

The BP-2000 is an excellent speaker--broad sound stage; smooth, detailed sound; great bass; and the ability to play at "big as life" volumes without straining or needing a nuclear reactor for a power supply. The dynamics, the broad sound stage, and the capability to reproduce earth-shaking bass make this a speaker that excels at home theater as well as critical music listening. Highly recommended. |

Strength:
Best speakers under $15,000
Weakness:
None found yet I auditioned these speakers against Martin Logans, PSB, B&W, M&K, Legacy, Klipsh, etc. Most of my auditioning was done with variety of music, more concentrated on JAZZ. |
