I got theese free from a friend and he gave me those because he did not want them.I have been using them for like 2 months for now and i can tell you theese are a total piece of crap just like any other japaneese white-van speaker system. The satelites are crap and sound like they are from 1935.And the subwoofer is so distorted and if you put this crap too loud the woofers start to sound so bad that it makes me feel like i want to throw them out of my window.I have a lot of audio equipment.Over 300 speakers from 1965 to 2011.Most of them are pro audio.Like huge JBL cabinet speakers and so.but if i compare theese speakers to any of m,y other speakers it makes me feel like im comparing intel 4004 and core i7.Even my smallest speakers are better than theese hunk of crap speakers.sorry for my bad english im from estonia:) .

Strength:

Looks and They Work!

Weakness:

No installation directions.

I was a janitor for the Umpqua Bank in Medford, Oregon and was approached by a guy driving an old Subaru pickup truck. He said they had shipped him an extra order of speakers and offered them to me for $400. I ended up paying $250. I just plugged them in 5 years later and they work. I'm no expert on surround sound so I cant give good feedback about quality etc. I cant figure out how to hook-up the sub-woofer up to a pioneer amp so I browsed the web for directions and came across this review site. Just found out I have been scammed. All these years I thought I thought it was a great deal.

Strength:

great sound with the right amount of power

Weakness:

i dot really see a weakness if i do blow a speaker i will just replace the driver with a better one from parts express

I was approach by two guy in a white suburban after filling up , thay asked me if i want to buy some speakers i am always in the mood for more speakers . i paid 200.00 for them iwas very surprised at the quality of sound from them these speakers put out more sound than my uncles bose 901's and they have really good bass response considering that the sub has two 6" speakers . all you really need to do is power them right with something more than 50wrms/ channel and you will see and hear a big difference in sound . sony pioneer, keenwood cant give you the power you need for these speakers your amps peak power rating means nothing . check the rms or continuous power rating of the amp or receiver before hooking them up . i have them hooked up to a yamaha with 75wrms per channel and they knok things of my neighbors walls

Strength:

The system works so at least I got something.

Weakness:

It's defiently not 2000 watts as advertised on the box. The sound quality is marginal.

I got the license plate number of the delivery car so I will find these guys and put a hurt on them...

After 2 hours of following internet sites to this one....I realize I was scammed in a bank parking lot. Same story: Guys boss didn't want an over stock of audio components back and the "delivery guys" got to keep them. The product did not say Dogg Digital or Theater Research or any of the common names. Mine said Elite Audio EA-505 5.1 Digital Audio. The scam is the same where the young kids act all excited about just wanting to get beer money. They show you the phoney catalog and warranty card. Then they hit you up for money. I payed $300 for something you could by for $100 or less. Here's some more links to sites with information: http://www.crimes-of-persuasion.com/Crimes/InPerson/speaker_scams.htm
http://www.eliteaudiosound.com/index.htm
http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/dogg-digital-audio/MCL_10481crx.aspx

The company sets up a phoney website that advertises their "high-end" audio products. I found that the EA-505 is not listed on their site so I called the warranty department's phone number. The person that answered said that the product was new and not yet on their site and she would have the boss call back. He didn't.

Strength:

Look nice, sound nice.

Weakness:

Dubious reputation, no way to resell this "super high end" equipment.

My story is the same as all the others I've read. Paid for it at a bank parking lot, showed a bogus catalog, given a bogus receipt and some story about how these were part of an overbid on a job and now they needed to be unloaded or someone would just keep them. I got two towers as well, total price $600. I was nervous at first, b/c I can't find any serial numbers...figured they were stolen. Pretty hard to redeem the warranty with no serial numbers. How could I have known I was buying shady chinese imports? Fortunately the seem to work just fine.

Scammed?

Strength:

As far as I can tell these speakers sound good and they are powerful. Definitly not worth the list price on the box of $1999. I will follow up this post after I hook them up to my new receiver.

Weakness:

Shady salesmanship. Passive non-powered sub-woofer, requiring a seperate amplifier.

Same story as everyone else. I thought I was getting a great deal. As soon as I got home I plugged them into a 15 year old technics receiver. The speakers sounded great. I went to their website doggdigital.com and saw the price $1999, further delighting me. Then just today I found this review site among others and realized I did'nt get a great deal. In fact I may have overpayed $100-200 for them. They sell on E-bay for varied prices. I don't get it though they seem like quality speakers so why all the back alley dealing? I just bought a brand new $500 reciever I will post again to tell you my results.

I don't know what this scam is about but let me make it clear I have NEVER heard a better system. So if it is a scam it's fine with me. When I can get speakers for $235 that sound better than BOSE. HAHAHAHA I'll take em.

Strength:

Sounds good with a clear sound

Weakness:

Too many unanswered questions about the product. And the consumer warrenty division I dont believe exsisted.

I bought it thinking,"Hey, I can flip this and get extra money for christmas. Boy was i wrong. Even pawn shops wont come near it. I have only hooked it up once to a 650 Watt pioneer reciever and I thought it did excellent. Especially after finding out the product was a scam. It even sounded better then the $650.00 set of pioneer surround sound speakers. In all I guess I got my moneys worth.

Strength:

Sharp, crisp, highs, mid's, and lows. Easy set up. Attractive appearance. Handles alot of power without distortion. Includes all hardware for mounting and hook up. Cheap price. Three year warranty. System has real weight and substance.

Weakness:

Bad company reputation. Suggested retail price is a joke. Included warranty card is generic and vague. No wiring diagram, or manual. Non protective packaging. (make sure to check contents and inspect all speakers.)

After reading all the scam reviews on this product (digital audio 2002 da5.1) I stumbled across one on ebay brand new for 9.00, I bought it. I was impressed by the look and the wolfer is insulated, it included wall mounts and cheap wire. the unit was very heavy. I hooked it up and was blown away, the bass is strong, the center is crisp and clear and the surrounds provide great highs and mids. I am not an audio expert! i just know good sound. i have the unit hooked to a cheap older pioneer receiver 280 watts. at low volumes the sound is sharp and even with the unit maxxed out there is no distortion or hiss. This system is not worth 2000.00, but if you get one for under 500.00 you got a steal. I played the system for 6 hours straight with no fault. please note this unit does not say (dogg digital) anywhere on it. Maybe I got a rare one, but i doubt it. also take into account the price i paid for the system, I went into it with no expectations. I do recommend however that you use a quality speaker wire, 18g just doesn't cut it. The mounts alone covered my cost. please read below for points of interest.

Sony, Pioneer, (Bose, yes I did say Bose. This system has a much more complete sound, and has alot lower of a cost.) People say bose is the best on the market, I say they have the best marketing.
