Strength:
Looks sorta nice!
Weakness:
One has a bad tweeter, cheap build quality, lamanate peeling a little in a couple spots. Anybody know the tweeter specifications so I can get a new pair? jresmer@hotmail.com I got these from a couple guys selling them as "PSD 2.8 slim line tower" speakers, *claiming* they are $3200 studio monitors that they "accidenally" got 3 extra pairs when they picked them up to be delivered to their boss. They have a fake invoice and fake liturature that looks legit. I watched 2 different people buy them for $800 then $600 then I decided to grab the last pair for $350 canadian. I got a free ride home.
Weakness:
I got an expensive ride to bankrupcy. Same old story, this time in Brighton, England...American(Canadian?) guy in white van on his way to fit out a recording studio. Warehouse put two extra sets in his van. He wants to ship them back home to make some cash for himself but he can only afford the insurance for one pair so he needs rid of the other (shows me the UPS form - a nice touch I thought, plus the catalogue and a classified ad in the local paper for £1550). I explained I am a student with debt issues and he says how sweet it would be if I sold them on and wiped out my overdraft - I couldn't resist. He drove me to an ATM, watched me withdraw the last money I have in the world and delivers me and the speakers to my house. I hit the net, find these pages, feel sick... The speakers sound only OK. They are loud, but that isn't everything. I normally listen to music with a pair of Sennheiser HD580 headphones and I won't be switching to my new speakers unless I go deaf. The scammers seem to be targeting young people and students in this country, which is doubly sick. The guys with receipts are lucky...take advantage and return them. Sounds OK so far good bass
Weakness:
pretty big and heavy Hi , well well well I think I should have looked on the net before I bought these speakers, fleetwood sda 2.8 $400 AU I was just getting out of my van I am a (Courier Driver) to get some milk on my way home and this van rocked up and two very enthusiastic guys stuck there head out and well you know the rest ,very convincing I thought, nothing like this has ever happend to me, by no means am I gullible but they got me,I have just come home and set them up and they sound pretty good and don`t look too bad but gut instinct took over while I was listening to them and thought i might just find out how much these really are on the net,and wow! I came across all this rip off stuff I knew something was not right at the time but to get something as cheap ie: they showed me the colour broucher and the price $760A ,$1520AU per speaker so to me it was a good deal DA! I will be posting on the web and telling freinds of this Scam,, pronto!! |

Strength:
They're quite big
Weakness:
Greed, thats why i bought them depite knowing it was dodgy Bollocks, i feel like an ass. I like many others fell for this load of crap. I bought them with the idea of selling at a major profit and i reckon i'll be lucky to break even. As for the speakers, they look ok and they haven't burnt my house down yet. |

Strength:
Nice bass roll & rumbles Clean highs
Weakness:
Should have been setup with a mid-range coming out of the side near the top of the speaker. Could have used a better grade of wood. I heard all of the bad reviews from the websites and word of mouth, but i never knew anyone who had actually bought the speakers. SO I took a chance and when I was approached about buying theses speakers I did buy. I hook it up to my car to make sure they were not blow first but I took them home. I have a fairly decent Kenwood 6070 receiver that I have connected to the speakers. It delivers what I expected. I have enjoyed these speakers for the last year. I watched Gladiator in 6.1 and was pretty impressed by the dynamic range of sounds. It does lack mids but the way my receiver is set up it on play HIGHS and LOWS. I am satisfied. One of the better full range speaker i have found under $1,000.00. Similar Products Used: Infinity Interlude IL60, Polk R40 |

not to bad sound quality
Weakness:
Way over priced , but if you payed anything less than 400 australian your doing ok IMHO **IMPORTANT** THese speakers are being sold in SE qld (australia) as Fleetwood SDA 2.8 reference. they are the same as the Dynalabs just rebadged. i think the other reviews here prettymuch speak for themselves.. they arnt the worst speakers in the world but people are paying way to much for them , thanks to misleading claims on there value , i have pulled these apart, and if anyone would like to See internal pictures of the speakers showing drivers themselves and crossovers, pls Email me major69@barrysworld.com . details are, they are constructed of fairly ordinary grade 16mm MDF and chipboard, with 1 internal brace, there is dome foam damping inside. Crossover is a 12db/oct type attached to back of speaker terminals, 1 od the caps is electrolytic, the othet is a metal film 'sounder brand' . the drivers themselves are NOT mica filled poly cone , but coated paper. no branding on the drivers themselves. Strength:
High bass output do to the dual 8" subwoofers and front firing port in each cabinet. They flat out get loud.
Weakness:
Weak highs. This system would benefit if it were a three way system instead of a two way. Really lacking in the midrange, especially the vocals Just wanted to say that I knew exactly what these speakers were when I bought them for $75 for the pair. No where close to being top of the line, but for a birthday present for my brother who lives in a college dorm and doesn't make a whole lot of money, well to him they are like gold. But really these speakers win you over with their size and the fact that they have 2 8 inch drivers in each cabinet. When most people see them they automatically asume that they sound great even before they listen to them. And by that time you could play them a new broadcast off of an AM radio broadcast and they would think that it sounds awesome just because it looks impressive. I will admit that it puts out some bass, but not quality crisp controlled bass. But like I said for my brother they are great for college partys. As for myself I own a pair of Klipsch KLF 30's. These retail for about $2000 a pair. Let me tell you .....BIG DIFFERENCE IN SOUND QUALITY!!! So if you are going to buy these out of the back of a van, don't spend more than $150. And if you really aren't a big audio freak or you just can't hear the difference between these and more expensive models from other manufacturer's, then go ahead and shell out some money for them. price, looking good, powerfull bass
Weakness:
low mids, bad reputation, the way they are sold i purchased these speakers from a friend lately, later i checked this site and was close to return them to him. changed my mind because for the price i payed they are reasonable, a little weak mids but still powerfull bass. can recommend these speakers unless you payed more than $200, try to get average stuff for less than this ... |
