Strength:
look cool but is that it
Weakness:
THE SOUND I found these at a pawn shop with a price of 500.00 but i talked the clerk down to 200.00 out the door. i have wanted really nice speakers for a long time and thought i had a deal. before buying them i did a fast lookup at dynalabs web site and saw the big pricetag, so i drove as fast as i could and picked up the speakers. I went home hooked them up to a sonygx808es and was so dissapointed and went to my computer and found this site. i guess the are in the 100.00-200.00 range of speakers gave them to my girlfriend the next day and bought magnepan smga''''''''s and dcm timeframe 500s on EBAY after reading some reviews on this site Similar Products Used: a pocket transister radio |

Strength:
Heavy bass for dance music/house parties. If everyone is ripped at your party then maybe they won''t notice the lack of midrange / crappy treble.
Weakness:
Poor/nonexistent midrange. Tinny treble. I have a set of Infinity bookshelf speakers that have a fuller sound. Bought these speakers around September ''99. Fortunately, I haven''t blown any of the drivers nor have they burst into flames. I was hit by the same van scam on my way home from a business trip in Chicago. I gave up 3 bills for ''em, because at the time I had truely been shopping around for a set of good floor standing speakers w/ a high power rating. I just found this website today, so I doubt I''ll be able to ever recover any money from these people unless perhaps I can find a "local distributor" in Indiana. One of my roommates is about 6''7" and 280lb, and I''m sure he could help "persuade" them to refund my money (just kidding...or am I?) I consider myself to be a fairly intelligent person, and doubt that I would have gone for it if I had not already been in the mindset of wanting to buy new speakers. Anyway, I''ve always wondered if I got what I paid for, and now I realize that I didn''t. However, after reading several of these reviews, it does seem that there are several different makes of these speakers floating around out there, w/some being much worse than others. I think I got a pair that are on the "higher" end of the scale and they would probably be worth about $150/pr in your average electronics store. So, w/that reasoning I''m out about $150. Within a few days after buying them, I hosted a party at my house and used them for dj''ing the party. I had them cranked up and they actually performed pretty well at high volume (considering that I now know what they''re worth). However, I''d say thats probably all they''re really good for - high volume party speakers - ones that you won''t cry over if they''re blown. They do have a great deal of bass, which is why they''re fine for dancing music at high volume. But, after reading many of these reviews, I''d have to say I''ve noticed many of the same problems. Midrange is poor and the treble can sometimes be too high or "tinny". Fortunately I have a decent Denon receiver and a good EQ (which nobody seems to use anymore but me), and that seems to help "refine" the sound to somewhat acceptable levels. Oh well, unless I can find some of the sheisters that are selling these and "persuade" them to take these back, I suppose I''ll just use them for surrounds and/or party speakers. big , heavy , look alright ... big and heavy sometimes means good... but not in this case
Weakness:
umm "guess what!! i bought speakers worth $2000 from a service station out of the back of some truck" ..... sound stupid and it is stupid! "complete joke" & "complete waste" sums it up! don''t fall for it! Friend bought these, i told him to return as it was a scam, just find out where the local distributor is for the speakers and take them back!! It''s dodgy so don''t keep them. These guys go by the theory that most people will think they are stolen and are too scared the cops will bust them for buying stolen property, but they''re not stolen. They are legitimate speakers so they have to give you a refund as long as you return in time specified on the receipt!! They just get what they can out of you, i''d say that these things are actually worth maybe 200AUD (about $100 US) but no more then that. If they can get 6 or 700 dollars out of you then hey that''s a pretty nice mark up :) Similar Products Used: Currently own a Bose Lifestyle series II 30 system |

Strength:
Loud, I suppose and not bad mids. Also, they have provided excellent entertainment for my friends as I tell this pathetic story.
Weakness:
Bass swallows everything. The whole thing is totally shifty and sold on lies. Well Team, Guess its my turn to join the loser brigade of people that got scammed. Shocker. This page really makes me feel a lot better. I had just left my house after lunch.... same story, van pulls up blah blah. By total coincidence my stereo had been trashed by Australia post when I shipped them from NZ. Most was repaired but the speakers were a write off, and guess what, I was stepping out of my door to go and look at some when this van got me. I told the guy the story about the insurance (big mistake.... but he seemed like such a great guy) which gave him plenty of material to work with and before I new it I''d given him the entire insurance pay off($600) in cash. What a dumb-arse. That night, upon testing, it was found that there is no way in hell that these were anything like $2000 speakers. I''d probably have paid $200 for a pair to tide me over until I got something proper. $400 and I might just be laughing about this debacle. But $600 is too much. I''m going to get my refund (possible if you call within 3 days- it says so on the receipt so they have to do it) on tuesday. The moral of the story: well as the police said as I was trying to explain all this (in my initial panic) "look mate, the back of a van isn''t the right place to be buying anything" enough said. look good.
Weakness:
no built in amp as the lying scumbag guys told me. speakers are beginning to show signs of weak materials used to make ''em these are not as bad as the morons on here giving them 1 or 2 stars. i have ''em hooked up to a denon avr-1602. if you paid more than 200 for them, as i did, then try to get your money refunded a.s.a.p. if you cant, oh well. the speakers do their job and despite me running them with a very low power aiwa system, and cranking them very high with my denon, they havnt blown yet. Great sound
Weakness:
Much lighter unit then I expected. Well I bought these off a mate who bought them of the back off the Dynalab van. I unpacked them and plugged them in to my Sony STR-DE835 Reciever and all I can say is WOW! Bass is excellent. mid is good and tweater is good also. I''m very happy with how they sound. I must admit tho I''m still cautious on how they are sold & what would be the deal with filling in the warranty card and stuff. But overall they sound bloody excellent. They handle my 100w per channel amp real well and the sound is great. It could be a little bit clearer but I''ve very happy with them. I''m just hoping I wont start smelling some burning stuff in a few weeks. But if something happens I''ll be facing up with the dudes that are distributing them. Believe me. Anyway I hope you other people have better luck with the speakers you buy. If your in Sydney bargin them down to $300 for a pair. Wonder what it costs them? Similar Products Used: none truthfully.
