I purchased these speakers for surround sound while I was building my system. The overall imaging and detail is amazing. I have been driving them with the sunfire cinema grand and was amazed. I just recently picked up the Krell KRC & and a Krell KAS 80B My self and a friend can't believe our ears we have neen comparing them to the TEAL CS6's. For speaker wire i am running transparent super with transparent jumpers. I picked up spike for the speakers because with out the bass lacked detail and sounded washed out. |

Strength:
Build quality
Weakness:
Noy very musical These speakers are rock solid! I purchased them for Home theater use and have been very happy with the sound quality. I am using the eosone 400's for the rear channels and have yet to come across material it cannot handle. You would be hard pressed to find better home theater speakers. Your IC driven amp ain't up for the challenge. Need a nice separate Amp for these power hungry beasts. In respect to Bose - which I have no respect for - they dont really compare. Bose have never pleased me personally and I have to rely on the old "no highs , no lows, it must be BOSE". As far as you "audiophiles" who intend to dismiss anything that has a hint of mass appeal as a crap product - insert adjective here - you. I am so drained by your arrogance and I giggle when I think of all the money and effort you expend in purchasing product from mom and pop shops that are no better a source of product or knowledge than what they can recite from the latest audiophile publication. The arrogance and ignorance of these specialty shops is infuriating. If they don't carry it - well its cause its a crap product - it couldnt be that the manufacture would like to sell more than 2 a year to the wondering fool who stumbles across their shop. The eosones have their issues, but none are unsurmountable. Give em a nice amp, I prefer Luxman, actually I drive the entire system with 4 M117 vintage Lusman amps. Its a beautiful thing even when the lights dim - lol. These are a quality built and unique design - one of the first and best that provided integrated amplification for the dirvers. Shop around, stay away from the bullcrap salesman at Joes Audiophile Inc. Find what you like, what sound good to your "ear" not a piece of electronics. These are some of the best speakers I've ever heard or owned. They do everything exceptionally well whether it be music or home theater. The only problem I've ever had is that when the speakers are in dipole and in my living room I get a muddy sound stage. This is caused by the room and not the speakers though. This led to some experimentation. I first hooked them up bipolar by reversing the polarity of the bottom binding posts but I still wasn't satisfied so I then unhooked the rear speakers completely by sending no current to the bottom binding posts. Eureka--I suddenly had a pristene sound stage and excellent imaging. This is one of the best things these speakers provide, that is the ability to experiment with the design until it works with your room where most speakers just fight the acoustics of your room. Not to mention these speakers give you some of the deepest and tightest base I've ever heard out of a pair of Power Towers. Overall these speakers provide one of the BIGGEST BANGS FOR YOUR BUCKS out there in the big competitive audio world!!! |

Eosone is a must if you love to hear you music loud and clear. These are also a must for anyone who loves to listen to Dobly Pro-logic or even better Dolby Digital. These speakers make you feel right in the action of your movie. |

One of the joys in life is taking a jaunt, when there's nothing else to do, down to the local Good Guys or Circuit City or even, heaven forbid, Best Buy. Yes, I know I have a $15,000 system tweaked beyond belief at home, but there is just something so appealing and satisfying to auditioning audio gear meant for the masses. Seriously, I get a huge thrill out of looking at and listening to cheap low-fi and mid-fi junk. Anyway, at Best Buy I started with KLH, then moved up the ladder to Bose. Some other customers were wondering why I was giggling. Then I went to Cerwin Vega! and JBL. Finally, I moved up to Eosone. Now we were at mass market bliss. The massive black towers caught my eye and I fired them up with the pre-loaded classical music, followed by some pop. Not bad. Certainly no NHT, but they did an okay job. The highs were respectable, although no where near what I'm used to, and the mids were a little cluttered, but not bad at all for a Best Buy speaker. The bass was good too, with those two powered woofers, and reasonably well-defined. I then looked at the price: $900. Damn, that's not bad for these speakers. Hmmm, maybe I'll use them for home theater, they'd be great for that. But then I saw that was for each one. Well, my enthusiasm dwindled a bit. $1800 for the pair is a little high, but not way out there for the sound. The fit and finish was okay, and they did look rather imposing. Then I demonstrated the ultimate Best Buy/Eosone HT package with the RSF1000s for fronts and the matching centeres and dipole rears. I added their 12" sub for good measure. The whole package was about $3000. Man, this system was great for HT on Dolby Digital. Clear dialogue and great bass. Well, here's my recomendation: The tower speakers are not at all bad. Although a little pricy (especially for the average consumer!), the rears, center, and sub are underpriced, so the HT package evens out. For audio enthusiasts, I'd recommend using these toweres for both music and HT with the rest of the Eosone system. That way, you'd have a killer HT system and a decent system for all types of music. Also, a mid-fi receiver could power everything with ease (because of the powered woofers). Obviously, not an audiophile product, but I'd be proud to have this Eosone package as a HT in my house! For most middle-class people, who have the room and like music and movies, this Best Buy package is a good deal! |

Granted I know there are better towers out there, but you pay for that sound though, and most of the time you pay for a NAME, or just a small difference in sound. These towers are impressive. Selling at $1499 at best buy, and sounding just as good but costing less than the DefTechs I heard, made them quite a bargain. they will handle anything you throw their way, from HT to music. |

Be warned of the RFS1000. LISTEN BEFORE YOU BUY! A month ago I did a serious search for a great speaker. I read about this one at eosone.com and it seemed like a hell of a speaker. Then I found out that Best Buy sells then and I spent over an hour there giving them a serious test. I played jazz, alternative, classic rock and solo guitar stuff. Well I had a headache after all this music! The bass comes out way too BOOMY. I adjusted the controls and still found no "warm" spot. And the mids just blasted out of these speakers. Too much Mids. Classical and H.T. sounded good but nothing else really did. They were 499 ea. a month ago. Now I see they uped it to 750 ea. For that money I recommend the Infinity Overture 3's. I bought them - they are truely amazing. All sounds reproduced are heaven!! I laugh with joy everytime I use them - I can't believe my ears!!! |

Well, I am impressed. I had never heard of Eosone until recently when I purchased a pair of 1000's at Best Buys, and now I see an entire page of people who both like and dislike the speakers. This at least tells me that I have a pair of speakers that are worth talking about. I have listened to many other speakers and will admit that the sound stage of these Eosones is not very distinct (i could be doing something wrong) but the over all quality for my home theater is exceptional. I have finally out-bassed my best friend (Bose-lover). I agree with the guy below that there was to much base initially but I would suggest adjusting the frequency input yourself (slightly, do not distort) and the bass should sufficiently tighten. Overall, I am highly impressed. Especially at $599.00 a PAIR. WHAT-A-BARGAIN. |
