Zestaw glosnikowy Electra 920.1 zakupilem jako uzywany. Przed zakupem mialem mozliwosc wysluchania. Poprzednio mialem takze mozliwosc sluchania modeli innych firm (np. B&W za 30000 $). Electra 920.1 graly moim zdaniem lepiej i niesamowicie - szczególy, przestrzen, kontrolowany bas, wysokie tony wszystko idealnie dostrojone do calosci.

Pozdrawiam.

Strength:

tight bass, uncolored, transparent, efficient

This is a great speaker and quite a bargain here in Europe compared to US prices. I previously owned B&W 801 series 2 speakers and compared to them the JMLab 920.1 is more transparent, less colored and has a much tighter bass. After having them for a year I blew the tweeter. I decided to change the tweeter to the same model which is used in the new Electra-line (926,936,946).The change was done for both speakers. For those who do not have blown their tweters I urge you to make this change . It is a surprisingly cheap upgrade. The new tweeter model is one of the best on market and is easily replaced by anyone who can use a solder iron. The sound improves after a break-in period astonishingly.

Strength:

Near perfect highs and mids, clear and thight bass, big soundstage

Weakness:

Expensive product

Wow, what a great speaker. That's the second best thing I have heard so far... after the Mezzo Utopia (almost 3 times the price of the Electra 920) !

The sound is very similar to the Mezzo Utopia. Very clear, sharp and fast highs and mids. Great soundstage. Bass is far to be boomy. Very thight and precise.
Very revealing of the source. I'm using Totem products right so far but I can assure you that there is no Totem that can match the "thruth" sound of JMLab Electra's.

A bit expensive (7000$ CDN)... but this is the price to pay to be in Hi-Fi nirvana.

Strength:

Clean,accurate, great soundstage and imaging

Weakness:

They need at leats 250h of burn-in, to give their best

I was a great admirer of Apogee speakers. When they were accidentally damaged, I was very worried
of what to buy because repair option was not available at the time. I was thinking of Kef- Reference,
Maggies, B&W… and luckily opted Electra920. I am very happy with them. Sound is clean, opened with
powerful and controlled bass, great soundstage and imagine. These speakers really deserve five stars.
I have heard that JMLab launched improved 920.1 model and I would like to upgrade my 920 if possible.
They are 92Db and as soon as I get some money I will buy a tube SE 12-18W.
You can not make mistake with the 920

Strength:

Weakness:

Speaker terminals,internal wiring,

These are great sounding speakers,I'm able to drive them with my not too powerful valve amps, still keeping the bass deep and controlled.Treble has always been a touch glassy, however no carpets and very little in the way of furnishings don't help matters.
Three quite simple improvements,to allow you to hear what these speakers can actually sound like.
I use Kimber 4TC/8TC cable however this is of no use if the original internal wiring is kept as its rubbish.I've wired the internals with 4TC/8TC also, the improvements are considerable.Next, get rid of the awful low quality terminals.I have fitted Tiffany terminals, this allows the speakers to actually recieve a quality signal.Lastly I changed the ceramic resistors on the crossovers to metal oxide power resistors. There seems little point having good capacitors and silver P.C.B.s with low quality resistors for the signal to try to get through. The aforementioned improvements aren't expensive and turn a good speaker into something on a different level without incurring the usual financial outlay for the privalige.Go on,do it,its easy and worthwhile.Happy soldering.

Strength:

Detail, smooth, pleasure to listen to, easy to drive (good match for tubes)

Weakness:

They come in BIG boxes

I have 3 stereo systems, using the JMLab Electra 920.1's in my ofice/listening room set-up.
I am using SET tube mono blocks and the Electras sound awesome. They are easy to listen to and sound very natural, especially with small ensembles and acoustic instruments. I mostly listen to Jazz and Classic. I am very happy with the Electras.
I use them with an ARCAM alpha 9 CD player.

To get the very low notes, I am using a REL Stadium III subwoofer (goes down to 16Hz), a great piece by itself that does a lot to the entire frequency range.

The Electras don't need a sub, but I was so fascinated with the REL Stadium III that I had to get it.

The Electras are great !

Strength:

Great sound with smooth bass.

Weakness:

Weight !! Hard to move them to make tries...

Connected to a Denon 3802 the sound is really cool.
Due to the room I've a loss of clarity but the problem don't comes from the speaker but the wall and the floor (many reflections).

Strength:

Balance, speed, powerfull bass, effecient, handsome, bargain

Weakness:

Large, heavy (to be expected, though)

As a long time B&W fan and owner, I was pre-wired to remain
with them at upgrade time. Nevertheless, since I was looking
to spend $5 large I was determined to do my due diligence and audition a variety of well respected makes.

The B&W 803N were very nice: With the typical excellent
sound staging and crystal clarity I enjoy with B&Ws, but
they were analytical compared to the JMLab 902.1s. The
902.1s are lush in comparison - not bloomy or overly euphonic, just musically rich and satisfying. Another
thing I liked about them is their sensitivity. No problem
pushing them with my 27w tube amp. That's barely enough to
make a B&W twitch - so I gained some versatility.

If you are in the market for full size speakers in this price range (and above), I strongly recommend you listen
to these speakers, and for that matter the rest of the
JMLab line.

Weakness:

This are an exelent speakers and good value for money. I'm using 920.1 for stereo and front chanels for surround. Before buing 920.1 I've additioned a lot of other speakers in the same and higher pricerange like Sonus Faber Grand piano, JMlab mini utopia, Dynaudio Confidence 5 etc. But I found Electra 920.1 is a very good value and perfomance. You don't even need high powered amlifires to run them they are very easy to drive but for the best perfomance you need a good quality high current amp and good speaker cables.
I will probobly change them only for Wilson Audio 5.1 or 6
wich I additiond couple of month ago those are absolute killers, they sound life a like.
My system at the moment is:

Toshiba 9200 DVD-A player
Onkyo Integra 989 7.1 AV reciever
Proceed PRE 2ch. pre amp
Elactrocompaniet AW 180 class A monoblocks
JM Lab Electra 920.1 fronts
JM Lab Elactra CC 30 center
JM Lab Cobalt 807 rears
MIT 750 plus speaker cabels
Tara Labs Speaker and interconnects
Kimber and Transparent Interconnects

And in my system JM 920.1 works really well, but I'll still looking to upgrade to Wilsons.

l auditioned Electra 920 and was very impressed. Great performance, clear high and midrange, very deep bass with great definition and amazing details. l was a little bit sceptical how will they sound in my living room (8x6m) but when l bougt them and placed away from the rear and side walls they sounded like created for my ears. Obvious difference between my previous speakers (Tannoy D 700). Some of my CDs suddenly sounds like entirely new discovered piece of music. My wife (not an audiophile) said: lf l close my eyes l see Sara K. standing there in live and singing just for me. Great speakers!
