after using paradigm studio reference 20, i replaced them with the focus 68 dueto better transparency, pace, speed, etc. i tried ae1, totem 1 sig, proac response 1s and the closest sound to focus is the proac. except the focus is
even better and made in canada costs me only 50% of proac price here. a great
speaker. only limit is it is small so sound levels are not in the big leagues.
overall i give it 5 regonizing it cant go down to 20 hz. the main comment is
that it is extremely musical. you can walk around and even turn around or go
into another room, it sounds "almost live". thats my test for truly good sound.

BUT AS A DIE HARD HIFI AUDIOPHILE,WE DID HAVE SOME AB COMPARISONS AGAINST ALL THE FOCUS AUDIO PRODUCTS WITH THE ABOVE MENTIONED BRANDS.AFTER MANY TEDIUOS HOURS OF TEST-OUTS WE HAVE COME UP WITH MANY REPORTS.

TO BE HONEST,THE FOCUS SPEAKERS DID SURPRISED US ON MANY OCCASIONS ALTHOUGH THERE MAY BE SOME FLAWS COMPARED WITH OTHER SPEAKERS.SO WE CAME OUT A VERDICT.

THE FOCUS SIGNATURE SPEAKERS WAS COMFIRMED TO BE MORE BALANCED ON THE WHOLE TESTS.WE SALUTE TO IT!

EVENTUALLY,ALL OF US BOUGHT THE FOCUS SPEAKERS.BUT,WE WILL NOT AT HERE MENTION WHAT WE HAD BOUGHT!WE DO NOT WISH THE AGENT TO TAKE THIS REVIEWS TO MAKE MORE MONEY!THOUGH THE FOCUS ARE GOOD,WE STILL INTEND TO KEEP OUR OLD SPEAKERS FOR THE TIME BEING.TO MISS GIRLY68S FROM SINGAPORE AND MALAYSIA:

Very good tonal balance, high Hz
Excellent mid range

When compared with proAc series (50s or sc1) when i was shopping two years ago, i found that
Although high Hz is not as far as proAc series, 68s produces more than enough high Hz.It has good sound stage although not as airy as proAc which i think sacrifices a little bit mid range.
Mid range is far better better than proAc especially for vocal voice. Music is sensuous. Sound quality and image is very good (especially for music involving "hitting")
Need SS amp to produce very firm and deep bass (musical) down to the fig(45 Hz).
I am using tubes amp to drive 68s which produces softer low Hz but its the problem of most tubes amp not 68s.
In short, if you are looking sensuous music, take this. 68s is also easier to hook with any type of amp (ss or tubes) while proAc is better to hook with tubes.

This speaker is quite good for it's overall sound. But if you're looking for good bass , go for the floorstander MT1.
Also, the dealer which sells AFA cables originally claims that it's the best cable. Now, claims thatLIVE cables (whichhe is carrying)is better. It's a whole lot of rubbish. There is no origin from this cable. No reviews from the UK or US.Must be some cheapo selling it in the far east.the audiospace amps that he is selling is way above the original price.
Stay away, buy it from HK if you want.
