Strength:

Imaging, bass response, classy look, Can make mediocre reciever sound terrific.

Weakness:

Location of individual speakers bass control. The grills could be a little stiffer than they are but really not worth complaining about.

This is my first pair of Infinity speakers, and I must say that I couldn't have made a better choice for the price that I paid for them. I walked into Circuit City not looking to buy, but saw these and was immediatly curious. They were originally 600 for the pair, but was able to negotiate to 400 for the pair. I currently have a RCA A/V reciever that is 3 x 50 and 2 x 25. When I went back and watched Twister for the second time using these speakers, I literally felt the floor shake. These are an awsome piece of audio ingenuity if you can still find a pair out there at a fair price. Don't overpay! You will fall in love with sound qaulity all over again.

Strength:

Imaging, build quality (except grill), styling.

Weakness:

Grill, amp selections (input choices), bass.

I have 2 for rear channel speakers and a modified one for the center channel. I am using bigger RS-10's for the L/R's..

Having gutted one to place its components in a new cabinet for center channel use, I can say these are very well and substantially built speakers. In comparison to my sub (another brand but not cheap) they are true cabinet shop box's..

Sound wise the imaging is excellent and the bass is extreemly clean and true. They just can't thump if you are into hard rock (the RS-10's really shine here) but for other types of music they are exceptional. They would really suit a 20W tube amp of very high quality and make that amp shine.

The overture 2's are the best speakers I've owned and probably the best I've ever listened to. The built in powered subwoofers are fantastic. The bass is clean, tight and powerful. You can actually feel the music, and at reasonable sound levels. They give the word 'percussion' a whole new meaning in my book. The sound stage, separation, breath, depth and any other field you can think of, are enormous and musical. Even at low backround levels the bass and clarity shine through. The percussion in "Hear that voice again" by Peter Gabriel blew me away. Listening to U 2's " Where the streets have no name" was like hearing it for the first time. The "Happy Anniversery Charlie Brown" cd was fantastic. I guess I could go on and on. I purchased them on line for $600 each and they are worth every penny. I listened to the KEF Q series at around the same price level and although a nice speaker, it did not have the tight low end that the infinity's offer. So on a scale from 1 to 5 I have to give it a five, just for pure enjoyment.

I just purchased a pair of (Eosone RSF 1000) at our local best buys in ohio...They said that this line will no longer be sold The list price was 2400.00 Then they were reduced to 2000.00 now ther 1300.00 for two. I love the sound of these My brother has (overture3) and he said they sound very close to his and eosone customer service said they are right there with them . Except the over3 might play a slight bit louder..The specs are about the same >Do you think i made the right choice for the speakers and for the money???? Thanks dave

OV2's.Circuit City.
floor models.
$269 each.
'nuff said!

PS - If you're in the market for Infinity, I also recommend www.ubid.com as they seem to have several Infinity models with the discontinued cherry finish on an almost daily basis. Happy hunting!!

Denon AVR-2400, ($301 shipped to the door)and these speakers ($757.00 shipped)with a Cerwin/VegaV HT-910C dual sub/ center channel cabinet ($120.00)[subs powered by my old H/K AVR70] and KLH 12" 3 way cheapies for satellites.($75.00)
For around $1400- I guess it does OK, the cops have only been over here twice in the middle of the day.
By the way, the Denon blows away the H/K in FM reception.
adds up to ~805 watts min.
I am happy- so far.
Just need to move to a more remote location.

O2's do give an clearer sound that does expose more than less expensive stuff, and show wonderful moments in classical orchestra or guitar as well as the Greatful Dead, and as I said in a previous review the Infinty RS5's are a great deal, but more is more.
Look is important too and here the O2'S HAVE NO COMPETITION except maybe O1,s because they both barely cut the horizon.

Powered by Kenwood 1080VR and supplimented by JBL 120PS powered woofer.

I believe letting the mids do their most important work without trying to do bass is a benefit. O3's sould be better and I'm working on it but I as I was mentioning about the horizon, 5" more height in front of my veiw is probably much better taken care of by super subs.

I got my O2's for $399 each+$70 shipping from UBid.com ($2000 is Circuit City's online price and the best online price I've seen is $1240) HIFI Ken
